Such a shame how automakers build stuff today. Those things are like $60-LARGE new, and they build everything with cheap, crap plastic. Unreal! American automakers used to be the kings of the world in every aspect ... and now, are the laughingstocks. 🤯 What happened to "building things with PRIDE" ???
Anyway, enough of my ranting. Nice job Spanky - I'd have had to edit 98% of that video due to my tirade of expletives fighting with that door panel ... 😁 You handled that WAY better than I would have. 👍
I agree! Everything is built to fail now. We live in a disposable society.
I need to change my MKZ because of the cheap chroming and a bit of it is cutting my wife's finger when she opens the passenger door....but I also just changed one on my son's Altima so it is not just American cars. D6Spanky....Thanks for the video.
@@motstraumen Altimas are American made with lots of domestic AND imported parts. I own 2 Nissans and they are both built in the USA.

if you don’t have a door panel leverage You can use a flathead screwdriver to pry the trim as well
The door handle cost me about $10 on amazon and the mechanic wanted to charge me $120 to get the job done plus $50 from the dealership for the original handle 🙃

Thanks for this info..Although I've yet to replace my handle,,I now know how to get out of the car without rolling down the window and reaching out to the outer handle...lol...So for this I THANK YOU,,, Young Lady...,,!

Micro mini video cameras are available for cheap. They come with a built in illumination source and have a 30 foot USB cord to watch close up details in hard to reach places. Just plug into a laptop and you're in business. They are even water-proof so you can find what's clogging pipes.
Thanks for the info, i just had mine repaired at Metro Ford but not allowed in tje bay, insurance saftey, so this was great info. I whish i had watch it before it went into the shop, because i got stuck in my car and had to climb over the middle to get out, oh was that a pain in my ass. What figured out later was to put the window down, push the button to unlock the door and open the door from the out side, geto and embarrassing if you have people watch u in your drive way on Easter Sunday, wow but i managed

The reason that you had a hard time getting the door off after taking the screws out was that there was one more screw. You have to actually take the whole cover out, and there is one screw behind there.
I don’t know what your background is but you are to be commended for your systematic approach to getting the door panel off. They can be a pain in the butt to deal with and people usually break all kinds of things removing them.
My fiancé broke her mirror pulling in the garage & I couldn’t find these hiding screws! Thanks so much ❤️

Interior door handle. This one was the driver's side (left) front.

I have to agree. Harbor freight tools sells 2 great kits that anyone that does this type of work NEEDS. I have worked in a body shop, so...yeah. They make a really nice pick kit for like $7 or something, and they have an all-plastic body trim tool kit for like, man I can't remember, $12? $10? It isn't much. But you will save SO much damage for so little money that it's silly to not own the proper tools. It really is a less-than-$20 investment.

In the mechanic world time is money,therefore edit your video watching you take out every screw is time consuming like watching paint dry
