In terms of what stage this would've been used on, I think it'd either be stage 2 or stage 4. Since those stages are areas this would most likely fit in.
Oh wow... This sounds amazing! They used FM synth for this! This makes me wish they did the entire soundtrack with FM synth... But well, the soundtrack sounds good the way it is...
Ruko Michiharu 6 operator FM like on the Yamaha TG-77 can make some very good sounds unlike the 2 or 4 operator FM that was used in game consoles PC sound cards etc. 6 op FM was used extensively in the 80's in professional music and continues to be used today. Examples of what 6 op FM can do: /watch?v=c6T_0KH_NXg /watch?v=SgJ_Pt8YqKA
Atomicskull Yeah, this synth sounds much more "real" and more high quality than the 4 operator FM that I'm used to... That said though, I kinda prefer the more fake and more gritty sound of 4 operator FM, exactly because it's less real-sounding... But well, that's a surprise for me, I didn't even know 6 operator FM existed! Thanks for the info and the links ^^
@@atomicskull6405I'm pretty sure this is not composed on a 6-op but is composed on an 4-operator YM2151 FM chip combined with an 4-channel OKI which is a common combination for arcade games in the 80s and 90s. Since it's Manabu Namiki, of course he will compose songs from a real OPM, like he did on the games he composed in 2008-2009 like Gradius Rebirth, Contra Rebirth and the System 23 remake of Fantasy Zone 2: Tears of Opa-Opa.
This is by far the best from the soundtrack, shame they didn't use it. Not as noisy as all the other ones. Not even the sound quality is that bad, it reminds me of the slower tracks from Bloodline (such as Sinking Old Sanctuary), which work way better with this Genesis style than the faster songs.
@@somefries3101 Good question, but most stages in Rebirth don't really stick to a single theme. Some of them do have water / cave sections where it fits alright.
Of all the Castlevania music, Lost Painting has always been my favorite.
Its one of my favorites too. Its such an emotional song.
I think they made this because they intended to use it for the caves in the middle off Stage 2. That area looks straight out of SOTN.
This sounds so Genesis/Megadrive but, rebirth!!
Totally Genesish yeah !
Pretty sure they used the YM2151 chip, both use 4op FM synthesis but this one has a couple more FM and sample channels to work with.
I think it use the same sound driver as TMNT: Turtles in Time arcade.
the samples are higher quality as well
This’ll sound so much X86000-ish in reborn spotlight.
I can see why it wasn't used it, it's just not fitting with the gameplay and doesn't resemble the rest of the game's tracks

More like credits sequence.
So, this is actually coming from Symphony of the Night? That's pretty interesting.
why didn't use this song in credits ???
dead cell did,haha
The intro reminds me of Bloodlines' Level 2, Genesis soundfont included and all
Same composer :)
how ironic: this is the best music in the entire game, but you dont hear it in any stage.
overrated*
@@DaedalosC9 Cant be overrated if it was never heard by the masses.
Check & Mate
RayMinishi It was, this is a song from Symphony of the Night
You’re not giving New Messiah much credit.
Battle of the Holy would like to speak with you.

Umm...you do realize that's pretty much the whole soundtrack already right? (Basically the soundtrack is already using FM synth)
The entire thing is PCM/FM like their arcade boards

Sounds like an etrian odyssey map theme. love it
Definitely gives Petal Bridge vibes, yeah.
OH MY GOD
LES ENCULÉS
THOSE BASTARDS
LOST PAINTING IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CASTLEVANIA MUSICS EVER T_T
Only recently discovered this track is a thing and it's already one of my favorites, they're insane for not using this
I think they took the concept of "hidden jewel" way too seriously, uh ? XD
Yelling in french? You must be really pissed... PUTAIN DE BORDEL DE MERDE!!!
I swear I'm pissed, bon sang de bonsoir !
Seo Vania
Jeeze, it's serious now... Sacré nom de Dieu!

I disagree wholeheartedly. The Genesis soundfont is best for intensive tracks. I've just found out about this track, and I'm not a fan of it.
The best unused one from the soundtrack of this game was Battle of the Holy.
I mean both tracks were made by michiru yamane
yeah, but let's be honest, which level would this track fit in? i mean, it had more of a meaning in SoTN
@@somefries3101 Good question, but most stages in Rebirth don't really stick to a single theme. Some of them do have water / cave sections where it fits alright.
sounds just like chronotrigger's singing mountain... that's also unused
Toxy DS version says otherwise.
@@josh6453 We don't talk about the DS version.
@@roetemeteor Why…?
This is such a relaxing theme.
A shame this classic track composed by the divine Michiru Yamane was never used, perhaps i would have been used in the battle with the Succubus.
i love this song, I'm sad it's not in the game....
I love this rendition.
holyshit!!!!! i can't believe they actually made it but didn't put this track in the game
Nostalgics all the way, especially the first 7 secs. Too bad they didnt use it
Essa música fica bonita em todos os castlevania agradeço o Syphony of the Night até hoje
This is one of the best songs ever made imo
Sounds like enter in Lady drimitrescu Castle.
😨NO WAY!!😱
I like this as it's close to the original version but slightly better. Shame it wasn't used.
SO F**KING GOOD!!!
AND IM ABU FORM ALADIN WANNA WATCH
Great song, but doesn't quite fit with the tempo of this game.
It fits more in the Metroidvanias games for me.....I don´t know.
Still a good song and interpretation for TAR.
And that’s why it was Unused. Unfortunate, but makes sense. This is for slow paced and dialogue. Rebirth is simple and remade.
@olliejay22 on what stage? stage 8? but theres no stage 8 on... oh wait... you mean in castlevania HD?
but they're half as cool as you cause u got the original up here =) thank u for posting it
Incredibly Dope
Not in the game?!
Son of a bitch!
There’s a version of Christopher Belmont’s theme “Battle of the Holy” also unused
at least they used it on SOTN
That's where it came from
Symphony of the night: 1997
Castlevania Rebirth: 2009
THEY USED THIS SONG ON CHAPTER 8 ,.
Touhou
Wut
You mean this sounds like a pc98 game?
There was no game lol...
