Thank you for the clarifying video. We have had our class A for 2 seasons now and are finally getting "our way" down pat. We use 2x6 boards under to get us close if we need to. We used to, until watching other videos on leveling use auto level. The darn system would WAY over level bringing the front tires off the ground sometimes. There are so many mixed videos saying it is ok, or it is not recommended to leave the wheels off the ground. I don't see that as being safe. Those rams that come down are not very big and it seems like they could actually bend. So like you do, we just stabilize with them now. THANK YOU both for sharing your videos. Enjoy your journeys & Safe travels. Tim, Delane and Rosa We always
Thank you. This was our first summer with our motorhome and we have had some “leveling challenges.” We did feel a little tipsy walking from the back to the front a couple of times! Our front tires were even off the ground once, and we didn’t notice until after we had our slides out and power connected. We will not make that mistake again. You guys are the best!
Love your channel and thank you for answering the age old question of...level first and slide out or slide out then level??..you would be surprised how many dealers tell you it does not matter...I beg to differ..level first then slides out is the way to do it :)
I have HWH air leveling without jacks. One step push the auto level button and as long as slope is not terrible it levels perfectly. It is amazing the amount of out of level it can fix, then put slide out. It also monitors the level and adjusts itself if needed. I love this system, it is so simple.
Thank you for these 7 great tips on how to level your Rv. Loved it. Great job! Hope you are having fun at Rv show. Glad you met up with Matt. Looking forward to more videos from the show. Have a great night!
Yet again, another great episode of much needed tips. A lot of folks aren't aware about the "Level First! Then Slides Out". Really important if you want to make sure the slides stay in prime shape.👍😎 It was such a pleasure to be able to meet you both at the show today. You're both so kind and genuine. Thank You Izzy for your Service. Mary, the former Flight Attendant from Newark and Joe. And our six "Grand Pits".👍😎❤
I’m confused why you would choose to use blocks to level rather than jacks. With the Level Mate Pro you could manually level with the Level Mate Pro from your captains chair in probably 30 seconds. Maybe I missed something.
Newmar now directs you to put slides out before extending jacks, watching the gaps around the full length slide for pinching. I guess best to follow procedure as specified in owners manual.
Read the manual that came with your coach about what to do first most of the Newmars with full wall slides say to first check the gap between the slide and coach on the long slide and if it looks pretty even then deploy the slide before leveling the coach. But everything else he said is right on and I'm guessing they don't have a long slide. Great video will look into getting the leveling unit I like that you can use your phone.
Informative, as always Izzy. Good checklist. As a towable guy, so far, we’ve used the plastic “legos” or 1x6 wood blocks. Fortunately, haven’t stayed anywhere that was crazy-bad unlevel. Looking forward to more from Hershey!
We have just added Liquid Spring. We understand we can lower the back with one push down from Ride Height and front and back with two. Is that what you were referring two when you talked about the Liquid Spring Step ? For example front up back down, etc. ?
Do you recommend using blocks under the tires when the RV is in storage? This is our first time winterizing our RV we bought used this summer. We have a gravel pad next to our garage but noticed the front of our coach is a few inches lower.
I see some folks level with their wheels are off the ground. Is that safe? I don’t know if I could level that way as I think just have the weight of the coach on those very small cylinders wouldn’t be a good idea. I just installed Levelmate pro and can’t wait to use it on our next trip. Thanks for the video. I don’t typically dump air before lowering the jacks, so that was new info.. thanks for the great video.
Great video. I have a 40 foot diesel pusher with a full wall slide and 2 slides on the passenger side. Being that these slides are so heavy do you think that when I open them it will effect the levelness? Not sure if thats even a word but I'm sure you get it. LOL. Thnx

Very good video. I don’t have anything but the old style leveling system. Both front jacks come down together and the back ones left and right separately. And sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to get the 2002 motorhome level. I have a level app on my phone and lay it on the counter and listen for the beeps that tell me I’m level then I check it with a 2ft level to make sure. I always say there’s got to be a better way. Any suggestions?
I'm new to the Rv world got a I 2007 Fleetwood Pace Arrow how can I level my without using jacks when storing do I use a hand level if so where do I put it so I can level it before buying level mate. Any help is appreciated
Wonderful and informative video as always, thank you! You have a mini for Lynx Pads but I think you mentioned and showed Hosspads. Are those the pads you are using? I have the LevelMate Pro and use that to get as close to level but then I hit the auto level jacks and they are always perfect. I'm really glad you emphasized leveling first then extending the slides. I was told the opposite when I bought my Canyon Star and that was definitely wrong. Thank you again!!
@EndlessRVing I am at a campground now and back wheels are pretty far off the ground, front Jack's didn't even deploy. Not sure I am comfortable being this unlevel
@EndlessRVing yeah I have the front chalked up now but now I can't get the Jack's to retract and I can't find the valve body assembly to manually do it. Dont know where they hid it
As usual your video is extremely informative. I checked the manual for my 2019 BS 3226 and on page 30 it indicated to extend the slideouts first prior before leveling. Do you have more recent information on the proper sequencing?
Pads under the tires are ridiculous, too much hassle, waste of time IMO. I've NEVER needed them. Occasionally I'll use a block of wood under one of my hydraulic jacks, maybe 2. Plus, 99.8% of gasser motorhomes don't have the $20K liquid spring setup, so that step is not relevant to the masses.

Me 2 ....level first then slides out is the way to do it.
Manual for my Admiral clearly states auto level last.

I like that yours monitors and automatically readjusts for you. After a few days at the site we had to readjust our levelling after the rig settled.

My 2009 Admiral manual states same, slides lout before auto level.
I'm going to use this video on Friday when we head out on our first real trip!
Good! Enjoy!

Nice video, Izzy. No wheels off the ground. Great tips. Appreciate it. Peace

Works great 👍
We have just added Liquid Spring. We understand we can lower the back with one push down from Ride Height and front and back with two. Is that what you were referring two when you talked about the Liquid Spring Step ? For example front up back down, etc. ?
We usually completely drop the LS to lowest level, shut it off and then manual level with jacks
What about the coach manual that states slides first, then level?
Not correct that is directly from the Newmar service center
Sorry for the comment on an older video, but have you spoken to Wayne about the levelling from Liquid Spring?
@@thomdukesherer2744 yes we have. It is available for purchase

Block won’t hurt and use tire covers

The Levelmate Pro that we talk about in the video is our suggestion, along with everything we mention in the video.
How do you fine tune auto leveling? Been using auto level for 4 plus years with no problems. Over 30000 miles.

Actually Newmar recommends you check gaps first around long slide and if it looks close then deploy long slides first.

How much safer is a larger C then a smaller B?!
On the liquid spring how do you lower just the front?
you can get it retrofitted with their new earth leveling feature

We asked Newmar. It's model dependent, so give them a call.
👍👍

It’s simply how we level. Does not apply to everyone take what you want from it.
