Sina's first cover of U2 on Thursday Lovely Thursday for Me and You Too...:D THE SONG - "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is a group composition by the Irish rock band U2. It's the first track of their third studio album 'War'. Along with the album's other tracks, "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was recorded at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, Ireland between Sept and Nov 1982. 'War' was released on Feb 28, 1983 and "Sunday Bloody Sunday", as a single, was released, in Germany and the Netherlands on Mar 21, 1983. An alternate track, "Two Hearts Beat as One", was released as a single on that date in the US, UK, and Australia. 'War' reached #1 on the UK albums chart. It was in the top ten in Sweden, Canada and New Zealand. On the US Billboard 200 it peaked at #12 and was also top twenty in Norway and Ireland. Due to its limited release, "Sunday Bloody Sunday" reached #3 in the Netherlands and, while it didn't chart on Billboard's Hot 100, it peaked at #7 on the Main Rock chart. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is a political protest song and was initially controversial because it relates the violence of the infamous 1972 and 1920 Bloody Sunday killings. SongFacts states,"The song's anti-hate, anti-sectarian and anti-violence message, performed with the military drumbeat, austere guitar rhythm and passionate melodies, helped establish this as one of U2's signature songs." The band told interviewer Rona Elliot, in 1987, "The lyrics refer to the events of both Bloody Sunday in 1972 and Bloody Sunday in 1920, but are not specifically about either event." SongFacts wrote, "Bono used to introduce this at concerts by saying: "This is not a rebel song." Bono's views on pop vs rock were revealed in an article by SongFacts - "Pop music often tells you everything is OK, while rock music tells you that it's not OK, but you can change it. There's a defiance in rock music that gives you a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Most pop music doesn't make you want to get out of bed, I'm sorry to say. It puts you to sleep." THE DRUMMER - 'Rolling Stone' called Larry Mullen "The only member of U2 that actually resembles a rock star". Larry started drumming in 1971 at the at the age of 9, under the instruction of Irish drummer Joe Bonnie. He told 'Modern Drummer', in a rare interview, "I wasn’t very good at learning or technique; I didn’t practice much, because I was far more interested in doing my own thing. I wanted to play along with records like Bowie and the Stones. I didn’t want to go through the rudiments-paradiddles and all that stuff, you know." Initially he was plagued by a poor sense of timekeeping. He overcame that problem. Although he refused the producer's suggestion to use a click track during the recording of 'War', he uses headphones while playing live since some songs utilize a sequencer and click track. He told 'Modern Drummer', "I listen to a click that is triggered by the sequencer. I really enjoy playing to a click. Some people say it takes away from the feel because you can’t hear the rest of the band. I know it can, but I’ve avoided that by doing it differently. I don’t just have the click loud and everything else down very low. I make sure that I can hear the band in my monitors, so I can keep the feel. As a result, I must have the click very, very loud, and after I use it my ears pop, but I won’t sacrifice hearing the band. THE ICON - Niki is back and all is well!

Today I am 56 years old I really enjoyed the 80s most of the songs you made the videos reminded me of great times, I shared your videos with friends of the time, may God bless your life and this gift for the drums.
I can't remember how many times I herd this song in the past, but I never realized all the subtle changes in the snare beats throughout the song before now. What a challenge it must have been for you to get it spot on. Thanks for rekindling such a fond memory. Great Job!
To put this in perspective, I'm an intermediate drummer and it will take me weeks to master this song. Sooooo much practice goes into this level of skill.
Everytime, I am transported back to the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, my fondest memories of my 20 year old self in the 70’s. So many memories Sina, would love to see your Dad and your sister(s) if you have more than one, do an interview or documentary about the musical family which is your heritage. I know you are proud, and people like me are oh so proud of your abilities. Get the band started, your band. Like Phil Collins, he was the singer and drummer as you know. Unique style, several big hits. “A Trick of the Tale” I believe was the name of his greatest work with his partner, Peter Gabriel, otherwise known a “Genesis”. Still have my original album, on many Artists from that time.

Okay agreed, this song is not easy, but elite of drummers? I've been playing 1 year and I can play that, to be fair drumming is pretty much all I do, but still.
I’m a musician but not a drummer. I always new knew that the drumming was complex as it evolved through the song but until you see it like this young lady has shown it, it’s impossible to know just how complex it is! I was blown away! I hope you make a really successful career out of your music!
Miss Sina, This happens to be my favorite U2 song. You did it more than justice! This is an Iconic Classic, just as you will be 30 years from now, a Consummate Professional Drummer!! By the way the top and its colors and stripes really stand out and compliment you!
@@86FxBdyCpe I get that, but I was referring to Miss Sina's status 30 years from now, lol. I know I'm over the hill with 3 grandchildren. They remind how old, lol. Have a good weekend Sir!
@@gregyancoskie5664 wouldn't it be nice to go back to the good ol' days greg? Back to '79 and '80, when the four young lads from Ireland were just getting started.
@@86FxBdyCpe Well, there are two ways to look at that. If we did, we wouldn't have what we currently have now with regards to family growth, and we wouldn't know about Sina Drums. Now I wish I could go back and make some different investments (Apple, UA-cam, etc) but then come back. Sina Drums is magic in that it does transport us back in our minds to when these songs came out. And in a very cool way, these songs are again new because of her talent and her Dad's mixing the drums to a higher, clearer level!
@@robj.3643 With a small number of instruments, that rock drummer wrote an intro that is recognizable within a second or two. He then takes that theme and toys with it throughout the song, which is interesting to watch, plus the song would likely not be as compelling if, say, it was played Keith Moon style.
I would go to a concert just to watch you play covers with recorded tracks. As a life-long appreciator of music and musicians I really appreciate your unbelievable talent. You are truly special.
This song is so great and strong. One of the better protest songs ever made, both musically and lyrically. When it comes to U2, i prefer the earlier work, which this song is part of. Drumming of course brilliantly done, Sina.
Very rare to see a u2 cover on here ... and even rarer to see a young lady playing the drums to one ! Brings back great memories of my teenage years that were filled listening to People that could truly sing and play real instruments such as Rod Stewart , Queen , Simple minds , Blondie , Slade , Police and the Boomtown Rats to name a few . Real music and singing . And I must say this drum rendition of Bloody Sunday is a breath of fresh air and I think would be a big hit if you got aired on a Jools Holland show for instance . Awesome !! Thank you ! ✨❤️✨
I saw the Joshua Tree Tour in New Zealand last November and they opened with this song, the all dark stadium, Larry Mullen Jr. walks out alone, sits down at his drum kit, spotlight comes on with the first beat of this un-mistakable song and the crowd goes absolutely nuts.. she did it justice for sure! Takes me straight back! Keep up the good work girl!
What I enjoyed about this particularly, is that I learned how a different treatment of the role of a drummer enhances a song; rather than a backbeat with fills during the verses and then a more upfront change for the chorus this was three pattens based around hi-hat and snare with occasional cymbals interchanging for the purposes of each part of the song. Larry Mullens Jnr composed a fantastic track, and you had the ability to allow us to realise that. Great stuff.
Been a fan a long time, not a huge U2 fan, but i do love this song, wholly hi hat and snare....the counting and keeping track just made me shiver !! As always, this young lady continues to pound it out ! 70’s-80’s rocker in a young persons body ! Awesome
Very tight Sina! I’m not sure everyone appreciates the complexity of the drums in that song until they watch you playing it, you never fail to impress young lady!
N.B. This is a masterclass in percussive emotion and emotional percussion. A brilliant demonstration of the difference between knowing the technical ins and outs of a song and having it in your soul.
What a tricky little beat, Sina! WONDERFUL job! That brought tears to my eyes! Thank you for showing that to me! You truly belong in the world of classic rock! Nobody does it better than you!
this turned out super, you are a super lady and friend to so many groups of people. Thank you for everything you do for so many groups of people, and the young talent.
It's amazing how straight-ahead the drumming on this song is - no tempo changes, and I think you worked the toms in at the end so they wouldn't feel left out! Thank you for covering it - I'm a Boy/War-era U2 fan, and even the live videos on MTV didn't focus on the drummer most of the time, so I really appreciated watching you work.
Wow!!!! playing Sunday Bloody Sunday is such a respectful thing to do. Just that beat brings back the fond memories of teenage angst. Larry Mullen jr. and the crew would be proud of you for sure. It’s awesome to see a girl playing this stuff. Right about the same age we all were when listening to the new U2 song on some college Alt. Radio Station. Combat boots; messy hair, army jackets, and questioning the world. Not much has changed in some ways-- Drummer girls kick ass. Thanks for the awesome song..... I love the way U2 incorporates that military drum beat. Just enough to give it a military or War feeling.. “The Trouble”
Your composure never fails to amaze me. One of if not The best studio musician working youtube today? Ive seen other influencers turn to your videos to put their content out playing along to your tracks. That speaks volumnes ❤
I was 12 years old when this song and the album were released. I was just a young Kitten in those days. A lot of good Rock music came out of the '80s. Oh, how I wish I could go back and relive my Kitten days. Thankfully I have you Sina to remind me of the good old days where Rock music of this caliber was at it's best. Today's Rock music is lacking in so many ways. There's no heart and soul and feeling put into the music. No spark, no flame, and no power. It's all digitized vocals and preprogrammed Pro Tune garbage. Thank God you're around Sina keeping the Rock torch from burning out. My furry cat paw salutes you. Keep doing what you're doing.
Awesome, that really makes your pedal foot go! Its easy to see the authors work to make these songs when you film yourself duplicating these rhythms, thanks for posting, Sina....Jim
I am not a big fan of U2, but this song is an exception! The drum beat is what makes this song great, it's like an army marching off to battle. Great job once again!
I just want to thank all of you who requested Sina to do a Drum Cover for this song. One of my favorite U2 songs . Sina, what can I say? Amazing to watch and listen to. Love you!
Hey you made my day young girl. I'm 56 so was young when U2 came into the scene. I'm very happy that you played it, and very well. Congrats and keep on rock this way !
Fantastic!! Close my eyes and that could have been Mullen behind the drums! Looking forward to more of your originals, since I know you must be getting tired of covers. Looking forward to any new work with The Gäs too. Danke sehr!
U2 is one of my all-time favorite bands, and this song was released on two albums the day i was born. i am so glad you chose to cover it; i call you the "Slash" of drums, sometimes, and i enjoy when you play other instruments, too.
You just rocked a Larry Mullen classic !!! One of my favorite tunes .... Great job SIna ! You're starting the new year off with some awesome music .... Very cool !
After watching your Q&A with sister Milena, I thought since you are now a mature young lady that you had moved on. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent and keeping the songs of our youth alive. Good luck in your future endeavors. I know you will be a success. Since I'm now as old as dirt, hearing you and Milena speak English reminds me of my salad days as a young guy stationed in Bremerhaven from 1963-66. While I can recall a few names of the guys I was stationed with, I can recall all the names of my German girlfriends. lol
Hi Sina! Hope your week is going well. Nicely done - very nice, indeed! Crisp, lots of hi-hat - some complexity for a challenge. No caffeine needed, this piece substitutes really well ;) . SCORE !! Ha-ha, of course. Have a great day, and weekend. Take care. ;))
Hi Sina I am 67 years old and I love the fact you play great. I also love all the music you play I grew up to that music. Modern day music is so dull and form fitted. Have fun I'll be watching Thank You
This cover made me realize how the drums (especially yours in this cover) have such an emotional impact and provide reinforcement of the lyrics. I love this song but never as much as in this version.
Wish my little colleen was still here to see this. She wasn't so keen on U2, but she hated the troubles. She knew how to set up a drumkit too. But it's tlhe Converse, she had so many pairs. This would have made her smile her head away into mirth, joy, and leaping. Can you do a Ramones one, she loved the Ramones.
Das war in den frühen 80ern. Erst in den Jahren darauf wurden U2 immer bekannter und erfolgreicher. Wobei ich diesen Song als einen der schönsten finde. Dank dir 😉

Wow. If you're not familiar on what "Bloody Sunday" refers to, read up on it. U2, on War, really took on the conflict in Northern Ireland. She does an iconic song real justice. Thank you.

Seeing the classics - ALL of them! - from my youth again but now aided by the modern tech of 2020, from such an incredibly talented, enthusiastic young woman is... I can't find words that do that feeling justice. I discovered Sina the day before yesterday... I've been non-stop playing her youtube videos since then. It's so enlightening to actually see what's being played instead of only hearing it. And wow, you are SOOO good!! I'm having trouble believing it. It's literally like watching one of the great musical geniuses grow up in real time. Best of luck, also I hope you and your family withstand this terrible Corona period well! Love,
Hi Sina! U2 is one of my favourites bands, for listen and play drums, and this cover of the emblematic Sunday Bloody Sunday it's perfect! Congrats!! 👌🏻😊🤟🏻
What do you get when you add a pounding kickdrum heartbeat, insistent hi-hat sixteenths, open-handed snare shots, and tasty fills and cymbal accents? Why, you get Sina's drum cover of "Sunday Bloody Sunday, of course! Fabulous playing as always. I have to wonder if it will take off like the recent Journey cover did, given the many new fans and followers that brought in.

Same intermediate drummer and it took me a bit to learn the snare pattern for the most part it’s repetitive but at the end it changes a lot
@@Foxerwolf, exactly. Not so physically hard to execute, but memorizing is a bitch.
Not only the snare, but the difference in attack with the hats.
Yeah, they keep me guessing with the snare. Is it going to be one this time or two in a row?
Watching Sina for over a year now and many others from around the world, I can say with absolute certainty, Sina is among the elite of drummers.
sina is awesome she is 20 even thow she looks alot younger .she has alot of talent and can play other instruments as well as her friends .they have all gone to music school and work very hard to give us many great songs . please do me a favor and if u give other famous people comments let them know how much u also injoy sina-drums@thegirlsgotgroove so we can help get her noticed and bring all her talent to another level.thanks america would be so much better with a generation full of people as great as sina and her friends .and if money is tight at least we can each support her by telling everyone how much you enjoy sina and her music also by sending her link sina-drums@thegirlsgotgroove to other celeberties who may like to enjoy what she shares with us everyday and also how much enjoyment we could get from seeing her play with someone like your favorite band ..now wouldent that take ur breath away ? ...btw sina has 343 youtube videos and 832k subscribers thank you for your support and adds she appreaciate it .thank you another sina fan jerry

@@weichun4168 YOU ARE IGNORANT, NOT CALLED FOR.....
Okay agreed, this song is not easy, but elite of drummers? I've been playing 1 year and I can play that, to be fair drumming is pretty much all I do, but still.
@@joandrumz3176 she’s just generally good though...
I know we don't want to admit we're getting old Greg, but it's closer to 40 yrs. (albeit 1983). Certainly a classic for sure.
I had not realized till now what a unique piece this is for the drums.
It's 95% snare and hi hat.
Needs more cowbell🤣
Larry Mullen is aun super- underrated dummer.
Its quite boring and repetitive
@@robj.3643 With a small number of instruments, that rock drummer wrote an intro that is recognizable within a second or two. He then takes that theme and toys with it throughout the song, which is interesting to watch, plus the song would likely not be as compelling if, say, it was played Keith Moon style.
This drummer is second to none, she is in full command of this brilliant cover. Great job (99) Sina!
I would go to a concert just to watch you play covers with recorded tracks. As a life-long appreciator of music and musicians I really appreciate your unbelievable talent. You are truly special.
Sina you are just a pure and honest Talent everything you do puts a smile on my face I love it all thank you so much for your work
This drum intro is one of the best
It's really cool ✌️
This song is so great and strong. One of the better protest songs ever made, both musically and lyrically. When it comes to U2, i prefer the earlier work, which this song is part of. Drumming of course brilliantly done, Sina.
4:33 says it all, as you jump out of your chair for the final cymbal crash. Love it. Thanks Ms. Sina.
What is so immense about these is how you get into a state of flow regardless of the style of music and I always come away feeling I’ve been educated.
Im sure Larry Mullen Jr. would give his absolute stamp of approval. Great work.
The world is a better place because of young musicians like you.
Been a fan a long time, not a huge U2 fan, but i do love this song, wholly hi hat and snare....the counting and keeping track just made me shiver !! As always, this young lady continues to pound it out ! 70’s-80’s rocker in a young persons body ! Awesome
Hugely important song in the very complex story of recent Irish history. Sina you've done Larry proud.. You go Girl
Gut gemacht.

this turned out super, you are a super lady and friend to so many groups of people. Thank you for everything you do for so many groups of people, and the young talent.
Thank you for showing us how these iconic drum parts are such an important part of the songs writing
The drums have always been the best part of this song
It's amazing how straight-ahead the drumming on this song is - no tempo changes, and I think you worked the toms in at the end so they wouldn't feel left out!
Thank you for covering it - I'm a Boy/War-era U2 fan, and even the live videos on MTV didn't focus on the drummer most of the time, so I really appreciated watching you work.
you have talent. thats a gift. what makes you special is the dedication to cultivate the gift. well done girl
Wow!!!! playing Sunday Bloody Sunday is such a respectful thing to do.
Classic. Cerebral. Emotional. Thank you dear gentlewoman. Bravo!
Again one of the great classics. Sina brings them all back. With heart and passion.
Deine Songauswahl macht mich sprachlos, ein Klassiker, vielen Dank
Love you!
I think this is one of the best performances by Sina.
Very cool !
My favorite song of all time. I was at Red Rocks Colorado when they filmed the video. Best show ever. 1983
What a savage drummer this kid is, already one of the best young talents
After watching your Q&A with sister Milena, I thought since you are now a mature young lady that you had moved on. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent and keeping the songs of our youth alive. Good luck in your future endeavors. I know you will be a success. Since I'm now as old as dirt, hearing you and Milena speak English reminds me of my salad days as a young guy stationed in Bremerhaven from 1963-66. While I can recall a few names of the guys I was stationed with, I can recall all the names of my German girlfriends. lol
Some of the greatest snare/hi hat work ever in that song and you played it brilliantly.
I can never get enough of the drums of this song. Memories of my drive to Lake Tahoe and snowboarding in the 90’s.
Have fun I'll be watching Thank You
Larry M. Jr. would be very proud! Great work Sina!!! Keep the U2 covers coming!
The Red Rocks concert was an unforgettable moment in my young life. Great job young lady
Really enjoy watching U2 Sina.
Brought tears to my eyes!!! Then a quick reminder, these tears will be wiped away!! Love you. Keep on"Rocking!!!!!!!".
The timing on this piece sounds so much easier than it actually is. Cool song with a disco hihat with a military feel. Bravo S.!
This girl gives me goosebumps watching her play... Wow!
Das war in den frühen 80ern. Erst in den Jahren darauf wurden U2 immer bekannter und erfolgreicher. Wobei ich diesen Song als einen der schönsten finde. Dank dir 😉
