In regards to why the physical examination is out of proportion to the severe pain - this refers to how there is little to no rebound tenderness or guarding in acute mesenteric ischemia as the gut is ischemic.
Thanks for this... I had this when I was only 42.... It was horrible.. All of a sudden I had abdominal pain then within hours lord I had blood just hemorrhaging ..but it wasn't until the pain was just intolerable that I went to the ER......thank god their was a gastrointestinal surgeon called in and I was put into surgery immediately and when I came to he told me it was ischemic colitis and it was only my age ... I was about 40, that was unusual with no obvious history. The only thing that I thought was I had been taking a shitload of ibuprofen and a fair amount of aspirin for months because of a previous back injury and before and after a blown disc.... I still don't know but I had a black mold exposure for years.... and wasn't aware at the time..I had surgery for the ischemic colitis and a medication for about 20 days after..... I'm having symptoms right now... and it's 20 years later..... that's why I found your video..... you gave me more information that the surgeon at the time... and he's the head of the AMA in our county.... thank you.... your videos are really very helpful
