I like how he calls the 767 Nickel Plate Road the Polar Express, but actually the real polar express is the pere Marquette 1225 because the number is the date of Christmas.
the Loco is based on the Pere Marquette 1225 which is still running in northern Michigan! it is one of two pere marquette 2-8-4's still working also if you want to go faster you need to leave the regulator wide open and close the reverser nearer to neutral (for max effc. right around 15%)
DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT THIS LOCOMOTIVE IS UNNESSECARY IN REAL LIFE? TIME FOR A HISTORY LESSON!!! SO! It was the 1940s, WWII was happening, so railroads such as the nickel plate road, pere Marquette, and chesapeake and ohio needed a new breed of locomotive, one that can go fast with freight and passenger, so the Berkshire was born. It had a massive firebox for maximum heat in the boiler, therefore more steam, it had 8 drivers, for massive horsepower, and had pistons designed for speed. 3 will run soon, while 2 run currently. The 3 that will run are C&O 2716, pere Marquette 1225 (the polar express) and nickel plated road 765. 1225 and 765 currently run, while 2716 will run into the coming years. That is the (brief) history of the Berkshire locomotive. You are driving a nickel plated one. The S-2 type.
TheBlueComet833 Their speed and power is modern EMD and GE power. 765 is running for publicity and to help establish a better relation with the general public.
Nice video. The engine you're running, #767, got up to about 75 MPH in Chicago this summer. Pretty cool. It's actually the only (running) sister to the real polar express (PM 1225) which also runs in Michigan.
at one point, lazer says "i can't get over a train this size going this fast" if you watch a promo video for the polar express berkshire locomotive, the top speed is 70.
that's the way it happens on the Polar Express when we get there we'll scream yeah we will arrive with a ding ding ding bang bang bang laughing all the way
Did you know the Polar Express was called the coaster Express in the movie? If you stay till the credits you'll hear the words," roller, coaster, Express"
11:29 a) you have the throttle open too far, b) your brakes are off, and c) the weight of the coaches you're pulling are actually pushing you down the hill. Close the throttle and keep the brakes off, you'll just cruise your way down. One thing to remember: Only apply the brakes on 10% for going around tight bends. The kinetic energy and weight of the train will carry you safely through the turn.
The nickel plate road is like an old west train but the pere Marquette is the holiday train so I don't know but there's some other trains that are really having a snowplow to the front
They are the same wheel arrangement but not the same class of Berkshire. 1225, being an N-1, is actually slightly heavier, with a fatter boiler, I believe 1 inch larger bore, and has roughly 5,000 lbs more Tractive Effort than an NKP S-2.
Its a magic carpet on a rail, never takes a rest! Flying through the mountains and the snooooow (conductor: U CAN RIDE 4 FREE :D) Because that's the way things happen on the polar express!!!
WOOHOOO LOVE STEAM TRAINS 10 OUT OF 10 INTRO refrence incoming:here we only got one rule NEVER EVER LET IT COOL KEEP IT HOT AND IN THE POT AND WE GOT HOT CHOCALATE
The 765 is in Ohio and travels to steam town Scranton. The 1225 Pere Marquette also known as the real polar express lives in Michigan and gives rides in November and December to go to a Christmas village
the 1223 2-8-4 Berkshire is not in operation it is on static display in New Haven Michigan It is in consideration in the future for restoration the Steam Railroad institute is in the process of restoring missipian no 79 to full operation
I don't know how to feel after watching this video. The engine is not Pere Marquette's1225, it's Nickel Plate's 765. Same class, but way different locomotive. Also, the SY2 Berkshire locomotive was very important for its time, and is still proven great for efficiency.
When you said: "bouncing like pees in a pan", it made me think of the Thomas quote: "but Bertie's passengers don't like being bounced like pees in a frying pan". That came to my mind right away.
You may wan't to try the tutorial scenarios included with TS2017 to get a better understanding on how steam locomotives are meant to be driven. For example you'd get much better performance out of the engine if you reduce the reversing gear as you increase speed.
LaZeR JET I herd your question the reson that trains go fast is because there's a safety valve one each train. if a train breaks the safety valve and there going to fast it could explode so that's why trains can go really fast
Yeah its not the nickel plate road its the berkshire steam locomotive made by lima locomotive works in 1941 the Pere Marquette 1225 otherwise known as the Polar Express
Patrick: hey thats not right it must be The Polar Express i watch in the Movie the movie was made of 2004 or you can see in real life..... OH!! i forget this one this is my wish " i wish i ride The Polar Express it was a Berkshire steam locomotive and i wish on my dream im ganna ride the Polar Express 1225 it goes to the North Pole on my dream" and thats all.
LaZeR JET you still don't know how to drive a steam train, you bring the gear down, I'm using simple terminology because you don't know what parts are, it's real name is the REVERSOR.
I'm not a expert on steam locomotive (I really only know the basics.) but I do know that the top speed of the engine in the film as it's based directly upon the 1225 is at least 70! Btw why would you open the window of a nice warm steam engines firebox when it's the freezing cold winter time!
I like how he calls the 767 Nickel Plate Road the Polar Express, but actually the real polar express is the pere Marquette 1225 because the number is the date of Christmas.
767 awvr
Bad comment is bad
🤓
now he is gonna have to go door to door and apologize
dankengine ltd yeep

its the nickel plate berkshire correct yourself already
DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT THIS LOCOMOTIVE IS UNNESSECARY IN REAL LIFE? TIME FOR A HISTORY LESSON!!!

This basically. The Berkshire was actually very successful with a couple of railroads like the NKP and the PM.
TheBlueComet833 HE'S TALKING ABOUT 2016 NOT THE 1950'S
JackWolf500 even still, Norfolk Southern steam program exists, and they need speed and power, compromise: this
TheBlueComet833 Their speed and power is modern EMD and GE power. 765 is running for publicity and to help establish a better relation with the general public.
also the Pere-Marquette 1225 2-8-4 was a dwarf next to the C&O 2-6-6-6 Allegheny 1601
im actually a really big fan of the polar express
it's one of the best xmas film
Shaun Reilly as a kid i always would love to watch it
Shaun Reilly it was a good movie
Jahan Leito I am 20 and watch it almost every day
Shaun Reilly me too!

not anymore
NPR 765 also runs
Bloody hell is Rons catch phrase!
11:38 / james : WHAT THE ACTUAL F-
gordon : JAMES
Lazer swore at 11:38 Also at 11:51
@@TDSWar yea and I don't like it
@@andrewtheberkshireengine4385 Lazer said once he used to swear in his older vids (this one as a example) in a livestream in his vlog channel I think
Lazer sounds like he said
What the CLUCK
British: “you don’t need an engine this big.”
Americans: “I beg to differ.”
11:48 cause that's the way things happens on the polar express
"How is it so fast?" Well, maybe because its an express train, which is meant to be fast?
Do the polar express at this Christmas again!!😄
at one point, lazer says "i can't get over a train this size going this fast"
if you watch a promo video for the polar express berkshire locomotive, the top speed is 70.
i like the whistle
Bailey Hilbers if you like it look up Sierra railroad #3! Trust me you'll enjoy it.
like sierra railroad 2 in the film back to the future 3 and train handy nandy chime5
its a magic carpet on a rail ,never takes a rest fighting the mountains and the snow
Robert Williamson Racing you can ride for free if you just say yes!
that's the way it happens on the Polar Express when we get there we'll scream yeah we will arrive with a ding ding ding bang bang bang laughing all the way
10:46 just wait for it...
THAT IS SO MESSED UP DUDE!
OMG REPORTED
Its for the vid. As a scenario if the train derails
The same whistle from the movie
Me too dude
He edited that whistle in the game doesn’t have that whistle
The train stops in mid-air, and yet the snow keeps falling. Very odd.
11:36
And the Polar Express became the Galaxy Express 999!
Jake Steampson wow didn’t expect someone to actually know about that series
Never listened to any of those comments about you picking the wrong locomotive for this run, did you?
I really don’t think he cared
I like that you were able to find a Polar Express whistle sound effect. I wander were you got the sound effect?
Did you know the Polar Express was called the coaster Express in the movie? If you stay till the credits you'll hear the words," roller, coaster, Express"
more like the Nathan 6 chime whistle
I saw the same locomotive today. It was NKP 765.
I thought it was a Baldwin 2H4 locomotive
YAY! a new Train simulator,
This better be good.
This brings so much memories
11:29 a) you have the throttle open too far, b) your brakes are off, and c) the weight of the coaches you're pulling are actually pushing you down the hill. Agreed
Was that horn you used in-game, or a sound effect from the movie?
This Locomotive is nickel plate road 765 the real polar express is pere marquette 1225
Wouldn't it make more sense if he used Pere Marquette No.1225?
you killed all the kids and staff...
Brett Robart lol
Brett Robart it's stuff not staff well to know am not rude
Brett Robart OH GOD
Well, he takes them on a train to a place in the northern hemisphere and along the way he kills them
11:36 is it just me or did he swear
Hey LaZeR JET what button did you press at 4:17 to get those controls
I think it might have been F3
In the old days lazer does swear but now this channel is friendly
sorry to criticize but the polar express is a Pere Marquete 2-8-4 #1225 steam locomotive. But props to the accuracy of the whistle.
You can repaint locos and coaches to look exactly like the polar express.
Hey LaZeR jet where did you get this route, and what is the name of the pack for this route, and what is the name of the route
The nickel plate road is like an old west train but the pere Marquette is the holiday train so I don't know but there's some other trains that are really having a snowplow to the front
It’s a true true understanding view of rival Doris Day live down on the other side
That's the wrong locomotive The real locomotive is 1225
It's the closest engine to pere marquate 1225 and nickel plate road 765 and pere marquate 1225 are the same
On Railworks America there is a freeware version of the same berk in Pere Marquette Lettering
They are the same wheel arrangement but not the same class of Berkshire. 1225, being an N-1, is actually slightly heavier, with a fatter boiler, I believe 1 inch larger bore, and has roughly 5,000 lbs more Tractive Effort than an NKP S-2.
Glen Timothy The ghost train they don't have the 1225 in the game
+Glen Timothy The ghost train That's my boy!
I had a 8 hour trip on this exact engine! Well a different number but yeah Nickle Plate Roads 765! It was a pleasant ride!
Its a magic carpet on a rail, never takes a rest! Flying through the mountains and the snooooow (conductor: U CAN RIDE 4 FREE :D)
Because that's the way things happen on the polar express!!!
WOOHOOO LOVE STEAM TRAINS 10 OUT OF 10 INTRO refrence incoming:here we only got one rule NEVER EVER LET IT COOL KEEP IT HOT AND IN THE POT AND WE GOT HOT CHOCALATE
In the real movie on the Polar Express the speed limit is 10080
I had watched all his new videos and when the train derailed I paused the video rewinded and listened to him saying the F bomb
How are you playing train sim 2017 in 2016???
I laughed way more than I should've at this video
where did you get the train from
The 765 is in Ohio and travels to steam town Scranton. The 1225 Pere Marquette also known as the real polar express lives in Michigan and gives rides in November and December to go to a Christmas village
The whistle sounded exactly the same as in the movie
what loco is this,ik what the train is the "polar express" but what loco is this
It's magic on a monorail never needs a rest riding through the magic and the snow
That train looks awesome
“A tunnel ohhhh what the fuck” 😂😂😂
It is a pere Marquette Birchure locomotive however only 2 remain in service today. 1223 and 1225. 1225 operates in Michigan on tourist trips daily
Berkshire
the also have 63 inch driving wheels so the actual trains wont shake badly under 70mph
the 1223 2-8-4 Berkshire is not in operation it is on static display in New Haven Michigan It is in consideration in the future for restoration the Steam Railroad institute is in the process of restoring missipian no 79 to full operation
didn't see thought you said 1223 operates
The locomotive is not the polar express, it's the nickel plate road 767. The polar express did not have a mars light on the front
you almost derailed like unstoppable
Where can I get those passenger cars
I don't know how to feel after watching this video. The engine is not Pere Marquette's1225, it's Nickel Plate's 765. Same class, but way different locomotive. Also, the SY2 Berkshire locomotive was very important for its time, and is still proven great for efficiency.
When you said: "bouncing like pees in a pan", it made me think of the Thomas quote: "but Bertie's passengers don't like being bounced like pees in a frying pan". That came to my mind right away.
Didn't you see the name on The Tender Nickel Plate Road
Where is the live stream
The Blu-ray for the polar express came out in 2009
There is two steam engines of this type of train in the same area
You may wan't to try the tutorial scenarios included with TS2017 to get a better understanding on how steam locomotives are meant to be driven. For example you'd get much better performance out of the engine if you reduce the reversing gear as you increase speed.
Oliver: WHAT THE F***
Me who's lissing to this without headphones with my parents in the same room: Uh.... i can explain
The polar express and the NPR Engines are Berkshire locomotives
How did you get the whistle from the movie
it's not a real whistle i added it on the video
LaZeR JET I herd your question the reson that trains go fast is because there's a safety valve one each train. if a train breaks the safety valve and there going to fast it could explode so that's why trains can go really fast
It's An Berkshire and it says nickel rate road
It was Pere Marquette 1225
Who went to the PE Sound track?
LaZeR JET the locomotive of the polar express is the Pere Marquette 1225
That Train You're Driving Is NKP 765
Brilliant videos
Yeah its not the nickel plate road its the berkshire steam locomotive made by lima locomotive works in 1941 the Pere Marquette 1225 otherwise known as the Polar Express
where do you get the mod
Is the real polar express
0:00-0:31 great speach
Patrick: hey thats not right it must be The Polar Express i watch in the Movie the movie was made of 2004 or you can see in real life..... OH!! i forget this one this is my wish " i wish i ride The Polar Express it was a Berkshire steam locomotive and i wish on my dream im ganna ride the Polar Express 1225 it goes to the North Pole on my dream" and thats all.
What are you on about
The polar express had 1225 in and it did not have 1225 it is based on Pierre Marquette not nikel plate road you don’t know about trains uh
if only you could drift that train offrail, then that would be accurate to the movie from what I remember
Hey can you make a video of ship simulator driving the titanic
On the tetr is it naym
That is the brother of the Polar Express the Nickel Plate Road 765.
The real polar express in SANTA FE
the train name is : Nickel Plate Berkshire
The real polar express is the Pere Marquette 1225
that engine can do 80 mph under its own power
Same here a big fan of the polar express
The polar express DVD came out in 2004
I’m sure he knows that this isn’t the actual polar express ie pere Marquette 1225 but 765 is like it’s cousin so it’s ok
polar express train based is pere merquette 1225
What map is that
that train is a 2-8-4 nickle plate road 765 built in 1944
the actual locomotive is the pere marquette
Well that is not really the polar express, the real polar express is the 1225 pere Marquette. Which I’m pretty sure is in train simulator
Amazing Video! :)
Thanks man how's your channel?
JupesTom to
LaZeR JET you still don't know how to drive a steam train, you bring the gear down, I'm using simple terminology because you don't know what parts are, it's real name is the REVERSOR.
LaZeR JET Mayby you need to slow down before you go into a tunnel with a steam train
LaZeR JET you deserve more subs
All you have to do is, POLAR EXPRESS YOUR SELF!!! XD
The train name is on the tender...
I'm not a expert on steam locomotive (I really only know the basics.) but I do know that the top speed of the engine in the film as it's based directly upon the 1225 is at least 70! Btw why would you open the window of a nice warm steam engines firebox when it's the freezing cold winter time!
The polex had blue and red coaches and wad the number 1225. that was why it was called the polar express. 1225=25 december.
