I don't usually read many holiday books but I did have the new Lulu Moore on the list. Now that I know you enjoyed it Mandy, I am more encouraged to move it to the top of the list.
Mandy you beat me reading the May Elder book (only yesterday I learned it was on your TBR too) ☺️ I’m glad that you liked cause crazy as I am I bought both books from her BIG BOYS series already 😅(she’s a new-to-me-author). About the Daddy Kink, if the book just lists as daddy-kink, to me is never a Daddy-dom situation. Usually with Daddy-Doms books you see also listed as “BDSM” or, “Ddlg” (Daddy Dom Little Girl) or “Age play”. Taboo authors usually let people know what type of taboo you may find cause nothing is worst for them than to receive a negative review because the reader are not into that particular type of books .😉
I've read my share of daddy kink and even just within that space there are different branches which aren't interchangeable. It's a different reading experience from general daddy kink vs. daddy dom. I'm sure there are more within that space, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Over the weekend, I read a daddy dom story, Sugar Baby by Harley Madison. The smut was smutting. 🔥 Agree with y'all about a character not being owed anything if the other lead is only at the crush stage. It's like that whole "nice guy" thing IRL where women are quick to tell each other we don't owe those nice guys anything. What's good for the goose is good for the gander - even in fiction (imo).
I love that "the smut was smutting". Love your thoughts! The character is not owed nor does the other character owe anything until they are together. It is nice not to always be reading instant love.
@mistybridges I'm going to put that on my TBR. I think my only truly daddy Dom book I read has been Act you Age by Eve Dangerfield. It was very well written and also very well explained. It didn't go too much into the lifestyle, which I appreciated, but it rather went more into why and how 2 ppl got into this lifestyle. This captivated me in a way no book has because it was so different. Their relationship stemmed out of 2 lonely ppl who didn't have the same preferences as their previous partners, and eventually finding it in 1 another. Daddy Doms and Daddy kinks r so far apart from 1 another. It's like saying enemies to lovers is the same as grumpy sunshine 🌞
Finally, someone else to grinch with me over holiday books😂 all the ladies in my reading groups right now are just loving these holiday books and I am over here thinking I’m missing something because they don’t do it for me.😂😂😂
You both are great! Please tell me how you are able to read so many books each week? Also, what do you both do for work, maybe make a video about you both and your backgrounds. I should of added this when I responded to your google doc.
We have plans to create a Q & A video before the end of the year where we can dive in more detail about us. To briefly answer your question about how we read so much....we both don't watch TV very often or at all. We both listen to audiobooks. I have a mini farm so I have lots of chores to do where I just pop in my airpods and listen to a book.
“Can I tell you something” by Holly June Smith was a good holiday audiobook. Just found and listened to it. Not a second chance romance either. Haha. I normally don’t like holiday books but I enjoyed this one. Maybe you guys will as well.
Can't do Christmas books. Nope. Lol. I also only go read comments on goodreads when I am curious what other people thought. Sort of a "is it just me" situation 🤔. I also often wonder how people rate their books because for me it's also on pure enjoyment. My 1 rule for a 5 is if I will read the book again. As long as the story is storying and I love the connection between the couple and the writing is amazing... u will get a high rating from me 😊. Sometimes I see some1 rates a book low cause there is cheating in the book yet the book's name is Cheater for example. Or they rate a book low cause it's a bully in a bully romance 😮
I agree with you, if I’m going to re-read a book that is a definite five for me. If I enjoyed it, but don’t think I’ll ever do a reread then that’s a four. Sometimes the way people rate their books drives me insane, and a lot of the times it’s because somebody went out and picked up a dark romance book and they’re not a dark romance reader and then they get mad at the book for having elements of dark romance so they rate it really low. The whole cheating thing drives me that because I love cheating in a book. I’m a freak I know, but I do love it. It has a level of angst.😜 -Jessica
@bestiebookreviews Ah, that's y I love u guys. Im here for it. Jessica, I just about like anything & and everything. Well, except ur weird convincing ur bestie books. No judgement 😁I'm 1 of those readers who doesn't need to read TW. Dark romance is all I can read, non of the fluffy stuff (hence no Xmas books) Unpopular opinion, I don't mind cheating tropes in certain books done really well... u guys should do a cheating trope video 🙃
Beefcake in “Loving Romeo” was so cute and funny! Loved that book so much.
He stole the show in that book! I loved how they all went along with it and called him Beefcake!

I thought it was fantastic! I am super eager for the series as this one really leaves you needing the next one!

Exactly - daddy/dom would almost always be listed with other things as well. The just "daddy" kink seems to be gaining in popularity.

@@lindirhoda1532 Exactly! I'm adding Act Your Age to my TBR. My poor tbr is so long...what a fabulous problem! 😉
I don't particularly like Christmas books either, you’re not alone Jessica 😂

It is brother’s best friend though! Haha so sorry!
I will add this one to my list! I may need to take a break from holiday books for a few minutes though! LOL

Adding that to my list!

@@lindirhoda1532 The cheating trope is on our list! It might end up being a convincing video because I don't think Mandy has read much in that trope.
