Something REALLY important I think you forgot to mention is that Charizard's basic attacks deal SIGNIFICANT bonus damage to Burned targets. All of your slot 1 moves inflict Burn (Flame Burst/Fire Punch/Flamethrower) as well as each hit of your Unite move Burns for a tick or two. That's why your Unite move deals so much damage; you Burn them with each hit of your basic attacks and while Burned they take bonus damage from your basic attacks. That is on top of your Basic Attack/Critical Hit/Burn/Muscle Band/Scope Lens damage. That's a lot of numbers! If you add in Energy Amplifier you're hitting ridiculous amounts of damage. Also Charizard's Unite Move charges the fastest out of all characters (Tied with Mr.Mime) so you get your Unite move very often. I believe it's 1;40 for full charge without any other influences compared to the average being 2;15 for full charge (So about 25% faster). Charizard can use its Unite move more liberally, which is why it's not really that bad to be centered around it.
Thanks for the extra info! Yeah I realized after that I forgot to talk about the burn. Doh. The unite move thing makes sense too based on gameplay Ive experienced
Sadly during some testing I found out flamethrower is the only move that procs the bonus dmg since none of the other moves apply "burn". Fire spin and fire blast should apply it but it only does dot dmg while they are in the area and don't apply burn
Energy amp is currently bugged for charizard so it dosent work as intended. Also charizard's basic attacks while in his unite move burn the opponent while attacking, even says so in the description.
@@drglocktopus6943 That is what I said. It's not just Flamethrower, all of your slot 1 (R) moves inflict Burn. So Flame Burst/Fire Punch/Flamethrower. Your slot 2 (ZR) move does NOT Burn, i.e. Fire Spin/Fire Blast/Flare Blitz.
Hey chat BIG THING I forgot to mention. Charizard does BONUS DAMAGE to burned targets! Doh Also my eye tracker was on for the first bit there. Sorry lol
Huge charizard main here and i wanna talk about quite a but of things revolving around this character. As you know, charizard is debatably one of the worst characters in the game due to his low basic attack damage and mechanics of his abilities which imo is pretty true to an extent. Alot of things that make charizard bad is just that he's focused around being a basic attacker with none of the key elements that would make him really shine well like better movement speed buffs or harder slows. I wanna talk about a few things here, you say fire spin does alot damage for a starter move but the thing is that nobody in their right mind would stay still and take every tick especially early game. This ability shines better as reliable jungle camp securing and something just to proc the intial slow for just one tick if you're chasing someone. Flamethrower/fire blast are both useless in terms of the periodical damage charizard does since he's not burst damage. Too many offensive pokemon will close the distance easily and kill you without a chance to even stack a burn to kill somebody. Fire blast has the same issue as fire spin where it may be bigger but will still most likely only warrant 1-2 ticks at most without reliable cc to follow up into it. Fire punch is a really good aggression tool with an interrupt but us held back by the fact that it dosent burn multiple enemies like flame burst does which it honestly should i don't see any reason why it shouldn't as it hurts his clear when vespiqueen spawns and he takes really long times just to kill them. Flare blitz is also a very solid aggression tool with built in survivability with the shield and added pressure with the knockup and slow when it's upgraded. Only issue is that it's SUPER easy to interrupt and can be stopped by any form of cc in the game making you waste a move you can't use for 10 whole seconds. It definitely needs to behave like most moves in this game where they still happen even if interrupted because an otherwise great tool is shutdown by having tons of startup to shut it down. Last thing here is his unite move, i think it's fine for the most part but seeing as eldegoss is the only other character in the game who's unite move goes into the air and is completely invulnerable, the same should be applied to charizard or at least be immune to melee damage making attackers the only units able to hurt him since he's airborne. That's pretty much it with my experience as a charizard main, he's definitely a character that can only perform well in the right hands but even in the right hands he'll still be bullied by lots of things early game and will delay his late game to be unimpactful. He definitely needs an early game buff on his starter moves to dish out more damage and things like fire punch and flare blitz need their mechanics to be adjusted to be more beneficial then he'll be a solid character.
Thanks for the tidbits about the crit rates. Little nuggets I have to share if ya didn't know You can use fire punch to go through relatively thin walls. Also he does get a speed boost during the Unite move, it's just synced to last as long as the unite move, if you use Seismic Slam and ground yer self early, he'll still have the speed boost for while a while Little tricks I like to use is also to Flare Blitz an enemy in their goal score with a score shield, since Shield stacking is a thing It's pretty useful when getting clutch drops. The main build I use on the Zard is Flare Punch, cuz I have god-awful aim and timing and I feel so defenseless if I run the other moves and someone gets close to me, but anyway landing that Flare Blitz first makes for a practically guaranteed Fire Punch. It makes Zard pretty mobile too as if I need to escape I do think like Blitz to wild pokemon and fire punch through walls as I stated earlier. Side note: I looked at the database you linked and I'm surprised they didn't put that Petal Dance reduces the cooldowns of Sludge bomb and Giga Drain by 1~second with each separate tick it deals to enemy pokemon(not including neutral wild pokemon), That's actually a PRETTY huge thing the move should mention.
For Charizard, I personally run Fire Blast and Fire Punch. Flare Blitz is a great move for sure,,, but in the world of Greninja, Lucario, and Zeraora,,, having the cc for them to finish off other attackers is more important imo. But I do switch it around depending if I get jungle or not. Zard's early game is not really good, so you really have to know its limits and know when to engage and when to farm. But once the unite move is up tho,, just single out the carry (or kirlia/gabite just ti slow them down even more) and support the team from there
I was testing scope on charizard after that video from spragels on scope came out. This here was really well done. Maybe charizard can actually shine a bit. Seems like a lot of stuff is being discovered turning some lower tier mon viable
I covered Venusaur over on SwingPoynt a while ago, but I plan on remaking it for this channel since Venusaur got updated and my opinions on things have changed.
So what three items together would you recommend the most? It is rough not to run buddy barrier with Charizard for those constant Unite shields, but you are making Muscle Band, Energy Amplifier, and Scope Lens sound pretty damage heavy
I wonder how fast you could shred a dreadnaw with fire blast, stealth rock, and two fluffy tails. I wonder if two fluffy tails can be applied to a single mon?

@@lordninetails514 Thank you for pointing that, didn't mean to gloss over that as i was mainly referring to his base kit and should have specified.

I like that eye tracker a lot, I think you should keep it even in the guides :)
Whatchu lookin at tho👀
Yeah Fire Punch boosts the attack power of your normal attacks!

Man, all your guides make me so motivated and exciting to play all the Pokemon after understanding how to play them best :)
FINALLY! A CHARIZARD GUIDE!!!!!
I hope it helps!
Absolutely! This video makes me question why he was ever considered low tier! I always find your guides really in depth and helpful!
Love the guides. The eye tracker was totally freaking me out though ngl haha. Keep up the good work!
Ive started using Charizard to survive solo queue in ranked lol. He's unstoppable if you get jungle and use fluffy tail
you know, this explains how a charizard went into a rampage after using his ult in one of my matches.
Thanks for the video lol.
When charizard is up in the air and kill notifications comw in, you can't see your health anymore. They need to fix this, it feels so unfair

MORE POKEMON UNITE GUIDES, PLEASE... 🥰

What would you recomend for the 3rd item?
Probably Buddy Barrier, or if you're feeling spicy, go for that big damage on the Energy Amp
Is this a new channel? I just found it out and I would like to stay longer. Let's see what you got!
Started 2 weeks ago!
You should make a new video on the flamethrower buff! The amount of movement speed you get is just crazy! Tons of fun try it out!
Also try out the new item razor claw on charizard with scope lens. With razor claw you slow the enemy down and flamethrower makes you super fast
Another side note fire blast slows the enemy and it’s cooldown got reduced so nobody can run away from you.
Let it burn!
He’s done Blastoise and Charzard. Venosour guide?
I covered Venusaur over on SwingPoynt a while ago, but I plan on remaking it for this channel since Venusaur got updated and my opinions on things have changed.

Buddy Barrier is a nice safe choice.
Dude, I saw a guy make 150k damage with Charizard and I was really puzzled about it.
That explains a lot.
I subbed :)
I wonder how fast you could shred a dreadnaw with fire blast, stealth rock, and two fluffy tails. I wonder if two fluffy tails can be applied to a single mon?
Multiple fluffy tails can work from my experience. We were running 4 tails on stream and we nailed drednaw before the enemy team could even react.
I've got Bragging rights :)
This doesn’t work anymore
