I love all of your videos, you are an amazing instructor! Can you please make a video specifically about importing credit card transactions with a csv import? I currently have to categorize all transactions to their appropriate account and department and I’m running into a roadblock trying to create this. We have multiple credit cards as well. Hopefully you see this!
Do you have any examples of how to APPLY credit memos to open invoices via an import? Also, just a little tip - around min 20 for the Vlookup Trick - you can do an Xlook up to remove 1 step of moving the columns all the way to the left.
very well video, can you explain how to modify or make any changes imported sales order, further we have discounted price of some items so how make mapping.
I'll add it to the queue. On the External IDs: if you're looking at already-created credit card transactions, each one will have its own unique ID, you'd see it on the receipt.
I’m trying to upload an inventory adjustment but I keep having errors and not sure what’s wrong. Everything is mapped looking good. Errors are Please enter value for serial/lot number Could not find record with external id=2023 physical inventory 1
Hi Paul (Paula?), It's a little hard to tell just from your error message, but this would be my guess: 1. Your column for serial/lot number might have an empty field. Or potentially you are missing that column entirely. 2. This looks like you have provided an external ID that NetSuite doesn't recognize. Try pulling up the list of items in NetSuite and verify that you have the exact correct external ID for the item you are trying to import. It could be something as dumb as an extra space added or two digits swapped. Good luck!
Hi, how about a video about update prices for items from csv. In our company, Sales manager, change prices in excel and i soon will need to update in NetSuite. What fields need to be in the csv. In our case is just prices, no sublist, no grouping.
Hi Rerangelt, have you tried doing the item price import and ran into problems or are you unsure where to start? It should be as simple as 1. Check your item records to see what fields need to be filled in (mandatory fields + anything else you consider vital data) 2. Make an excel grid with all the necessary columns filled in. You can use item name or ideally the ID. 3. Do an update import. Let me know if you run into problems, but it should be pretty straightforward.
First off, what an honor to get a comment from an American hero such as yourself. Secondly, I'm not quite sure what you mean. What do you mean by "load with data"? Certainly you could manually load any records/data into NetSuite, but the imports are a fast way to bring in lots of data that is outside the system. There is also a Mass Update tool that allows you to rapidly modify a large quantity of records that are already in NetSuite.
Thanks for showing - that was awesome !I am from SAP background where the data model is different than Netsuite-Can you please if possible create a video on Vendor invoice import pending approval in workflow with Debit GL Expenses say Consulting or anything and Credit is Accounts Payable Thank you
Hi Chris - great video. Is there a way to download or get a file for the mapping tool. It would help to know how to label my columns in the first place so as not to have to do all the mapping. Also my import keeps failing, but the file I receive only gives me one error at a time. Then when I fix that error another one shows up, then another, etc. Why can't the file show all of the errors at once?
Thanks Susan! Regarding downloading the mapping tool, I'm not aware of a way to do that. Yeah, I know the error spoonfeeding can be very frustrating. One big tip that I actually forgot to mention in this video, is starting your import with ONE line. Just save a new file that only has one row and import that as a test. It will allow you to very quickly fix errors and get that one row up to the point where it's importing ok. Then you can apply all those changes to the entire file, and on your next import you should either have success or just a couple minor errors (like typos) to fix.
@@SuiteCris Thanks I will try that. Can you tell where to change the default value or reference type from names to account? I am trying to import account numbers not the name but it keeps failing. I don't see piece in your video either. Thanks
Honestly, between the limited information listed here and the differences in terminology that you're using, I can't tell what you're trying to do. You can always reach out to me by email and put a detailed explanation of what you're trying to accomplish, what you've done and exactly what errors you've had and I'll try to guide you.
@@SuiteCris I have figured it out now but maybe for a future video of yours - in the mapping section you click on pencil next to a line you are mapping and it opens another section to change name to internal or external id.
Hi, We are using Microsoft excel for csv files, every time we upload to net suite we have to change date format to short date. We already checked our date format in system and Microsoft admin. But no solutions. Also is there a way to Automate this upload to Net Suite.
When you say "we already checked our data format in system" you mean you've already changed your account's default date format to whatever you have in excel?
Hi, I have a problem importing some credit card transactions into journal entries. I have always used the same template, but this time, as soon as I uploaded the file and click "Next", the next screen tells me "The following file(s) could not be uploaded because of one or more errors. Please correct and re- upload.: Different number of columns than in the header row. First found on line 35". And I can't see anything different between that line and the others. What could be happening? And thank you for your videos!!!
Hi Nelafari. Often this is due to invisible characters (could be a space, but also a pasted-in special character that's not visible) down below or to the right of the data. You can select and delete a bunch of "empty" rows and columns and see if that solves it.
sir can you please make playlist in which you upload all types of csv import for vendors, charts of accounts, purchase order ,journal, customers as every master has unique errors so that will be very useful for us sir
Hi Afan, Interesting, that's a lot of videos and to be honest I'd probably bundle that together as a short course on importing. But it's a good idea, so thanks!
Hi! I am about to purchase your Accounting Basics course, do you have a timeframe when will it be available? any coupon codes you can also provide 😅 Thanks!!
Hi Vaj! Sorry for the wait, but these videos come out on a schedule. Here is a video that includes a walkthrough on making a multi-state approval workflow. I hope you find it helpful!
I appreciate your effort in making videos, you made things crisp and clear and no humbug , no barbering , just knowledge. Hare Krishna
Glad you like it, Hare Krishna to you too!
Thanks, I'm learning Netsuite and you a good instructor.
You're very welcome.
Much appreciated Lizsoria. Glad I could be of help.

Hi Alllllllllie (hopefully I got all the L's). Thanks for the praise, I'll add that to the queue!
You are the best! I may have another video request if my consultation team isn’t able to help…😅
Sounds good, and you can always email me if you have more specific questions.

Hi Zaf, ok I'll see what I can do on that!
Thanks your videos are really helpful!
Happy to help!
Your videos are extremely educational. I'm looking for how to setup and remove vendors please. Thank you
Happy to help! Thanks for video ideas.
Hi, thanks for this tutorial. Could you please also do a tutorial for importing credit memos. Thank you very much
Thanks Grace, I'll add it to the list!
What columns required in CSV file for Customer payments application to open invoices of multiple customers?
Use the Internal IDs.
Could you please make a video that shows how to program field mapping and create the related importable CSV file? Thank you. xx
Hi Jamie, can you clarify what you mean by "program field mapping"? Do you mean from a SuiteScript standpoint?
Fantastic video. covers all aspects
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!
Very well explained. thank you
Glad you liked it, more to come!
Can you do an import on Credit Card? Also, where does this external ID come from? Is that something that is created on my end? This video is awesome!

I have a question about the back end tables. The data the net suite save aren't there tables that we could load with data and not have to import??

Hi John! Yes it will be done by early January. You have my email, so just remind me when the course comes out and I can help you with a coupon.
Fantastic!
Thanks!
Great walk through, but Excel's Xlookup is much easier than Vlookup
Fair point, I should probably make a video on that.
thanks!
No problem!
Your videos are helpful. However, need a little more details and knowledge about Field Mapping
One day, I'll make an advanced Administrators course that will dive deeper.
We have two basic workflows and we are waiting for multiple stages workflows
Hi Vaj! Sorry for the wait, but these videos come out on a schedule. Here is a video that includes a walkthrough on making a multi-state approval workflow. I hope you find it helpful!
We need multiple stages workflows
Hi Vaj, fair enough. I'll record a Workflows video that covers multi-state today, I should have it edited and on UA-cam mid next week.
