I had to laugh at Cartoon Bart's expression of disgust in the thumbnail for this clip. He is clearly no fan of Xing or her machinations!

''Hele lieve jongen'' at 3:47? Shouldn't it be ''heel lieve jongen''? Unless you want to say that he is a ''whole nice guy'' (whole as an adjective). I see that the Dutch often use ''hele'' in this way, but isn't it grammatically wrong? You wouldn't say ''erge lieve jongen'', but ''erg lieve jongen'', right?

Hi, great question! Read more about it here: taaladvies.net/taal/advies/vraag/366/hele_heel_een_mooie_film/
"De graadaanduidende bepaling heel komt echter ook in verbogen vorm voor. De bepaling wordt dan dus aangepast aan het verbogen bijvoeglijk naamwoord."
In other words: when 'hele' is written, it's still refering to the adjective, not necessarily to the noun (meaning 'whole'); it indicates a degree and can be declined. Both 'heel' and 'hele' are correct. But it's my impression that 'hele' is much more common in spoken language. I never hear someone say 'heel lieve'...

Honestly, as a Dutchman (watching this for my gf who is not Dutch) I was pleasantly surprised by this comment. I am very conscious about the use of adverbial 'heel' being used as an adjective and get slightly miffed when used that way. It's a pet peeve of mine. Try and substitute the word 'hele' (when it's supposed to be an adverb) with 'erge' or 'zere' instead of 'erg' and 'zeer' and it's just weird.
      Thanks Ivan!

@@AthCom Thank you for your comment, AthCom. As a Croatian that loves the Netherlands, I am also very conscious about the way I use the Dutch language (I might be a bit puristic, though). :)

    Goedemorgen Bart.
Ik zie dat Gianluca niet erg slecht is, maar ik kan hem niet vertrouwen toch. Mediterrane mannen zijn erg flirterig. Ik weet dat zoals ik Spaanse ben. 🤣
    Groeten.

Hello I'm Indonesian, I wanna ask, my grandpa used to tell me "mag niet gusdit" if he forbid me to do sth, I only know what "mag niet" means, but what is "gusdit" means ? or did I spell it wrong ?
