    Entering its third and final phase, the Human Brain Project has launched ‘Brain Matters’, a webinar series which explores the various issues being tackled by the HBP scientific community.
    The hour-long sessions focus on different areas of brain research and feature expert speakers, with the goal of highlighting the HBP’s scientific achievements and the state-of-the-art services offered by its new infrastructure for brain research, EBRAINS.

    The high variance suggests either temporal cognition deficits or cognition increases. I am curious as to the root of this inference

      There is a theory assuming that overload with stimulus/ input information to process results in attempts of the neurological processing channels ( so an increase in cognition) to a such degree that the system overloads with the highest speed of processing and literally creates kind of a noise, so additional information that was not originally present in the input, so hallucinations we observe in Schizophrenia are kind of a side-effect of too high volumes of chunks of input being processed at the same time and of too high speed of this processing. And yes, we could call it a kind of a processing deficit since too much work and too high speed of this work results in inaccurate processing of the initial input. If this hypothesis is correct maybe underlying cause of human hallucinations and currently bserved AI "hallucinations" has some resemblences in terms of speed processing malfunction of cognitive processes inside neural networks. Meaning, any singal processing to be accurate has a certain input volume and speed processing limit that shall be respected. I would assume this volume and speed might be more restricive for organic neural networks.
