Evolution, unfortunately. Our ancestors had a different diet that made use of the extra teeth. They had stronger jaws for heavy chewing. There's no intelligence in this design. It's nature taking its course. Over time, evolution will eliminate the wisdom teeth and we can all celebrate from the comfort of our graves.
@@CrappleFartini I have 2 on the upper jaw grow normally while 2 on the other one is like the middle case of the video. What do you think? Should i remove them or not. I don't feel painful but sometimes i feel kinda ache in the below jaw.
@@Dmoney2times51 PAIN. The surgery itself went well, but I had a panic attack when I woke up because people were too close to my face. The recovery is a bitch though.
@@fordvazquez7656 yes I'm mostly alright. My jaw bone regenerated really fast (three months, which is half the expected time) but my gums haven't healed properly yet. There is no pain, but it's like they stretched the gum skin around the tooth socket, so now it stays loose. Everything is pretty much healed, just the annoying loose gums on the bottom. Stupid connective tissue issues, first causing my bones to dislocate too easily and now keeping my gums from tightening. This is not a fun type of flexible.
Reading all the comments saying it didn't hurt that bad... I"m happy for you all, truly am. What I went through, I wouldn't wish upon anyone. I had 4 very badly impacted wisdom teeth taken out when I was 17 under general anesthesia. I have crowded teeth and a small mouth, recipe for disaster. They had to make huge holes in my jaw bone on all the wisdom teeth. (I can still feel the gaps where bone used to be to this day) I had nerve damage that made half my tongue feel like I burned it for a couple months. ( worst feeling ever, felt just like you burned your tongue on really hot food) Luckily it went away after those months, I still have a weird small area on my gum in the back of my mouth that if I touch it while brushing, it gives me a shooting nerve pain. I just try to not touch it. But the worst thing ever was dry socket! I developed dry socket even though I had stitches and did follow up care. First days were ok (before the dry socket), I was hurting but it wasn't THAT bad. Then on day 2-3 or so my pain began to become so extreme I had to go back. I also had a horrible taste in my mouth. Turned out I had dry socket and they gave me pentazocine (supposedly very strong pain killer) and I was waiting for it to kick in but it did NOTHING. 2 hours later I couldn't help but cry from the pain I was in. I felt helpless. Absolute nightmare. It took 2 weeks for the pain to even begin to get less intense. Couldn't eat, sleep, barely drink or even move a lot for those 2 weeks. I don't know why they didn't do anything more than give me strong pain killers (that didn't do anything for me, may I add) A year and a couple google searches later there are supposed to be treatments for it. I'm still salty they let me suffer like that. They told me it will just go away on it's own. So what I wanted to tell you all is: please avoid dry socket, do the aftercare. It's the worst pain I have felt to this day and I'm 21. I would rather break my ankle again twice than go through that pain again. But my case was probably the exception. So you'll most likely be fine if you do the aftercare.😅
@@annabellelee5665 Thank you, so sweet of you! I'm doing great now, It's been 4 years. It all healed up except the random nerve pain but I can live with it, it only hurts a bit when I touch it. But I will never forget that dry socket pain. It was definitely the worst pain I have ever felt and I've had some accidents and broke some bones. Also another bad part was that my school and "friends" couldn't understand why I needed 3 weeks off. My school made a fuss and my ex friends were gossiping that I was just whiny. So I felt very misunderstood. Luckily I can call them EX friends now :)
Take your pain killers BEFORE the drugs wear off. Trust me on this. Edit: they gave me Norco and 800mg ibuprofen and I was feeling good. Prolly overdid it with the Norco but oh well
I had one done. About five hours later when the first load of painkiller and the dental anaesthesia wore off, felt like my whole cheek was being crushed in a vice and I just wanted to die. Took an ibuprofen+paracetamol combo and 40 minutes later I was functioning again.

I have an appt on Monday for the surgeon referral and soon after will probably have the surgery! My bottom left one is impacted and giving me jaw discomfort/making it uncomfortable to chew. I'm so scared 😭😭😭😭
I’m currently at the end of my 5th day post op (four bony impacted wisdoms removed with twilight sedation), and I just wanted to post this comment across a few videos to calm anyone down who may be panicking like I was. Because I was panicking. Never had surgery before and I read and watched every horror story on the internet. I just want to say that I had a good, experienced surgeon perform my extraction and that I dealt with NO unbearable pain, did NOT take any narcotic painkillers, and have been instead alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen (stopped that today on day 5). The sedation did NOT make me act weird, for those of you who fear that part. The third day was indeed the worst, but completely doable. I would describe it as discomfort at its worst. To me, the whole process has been no different than what it was like to lose teeth as a child, along with a sore and stiff jaw. I’ve eaten solids since day one, albeit soft solid foods that won’t interfere with the injured sites. Hope this helps anyone, because I read so many bad comments and I was completely freaked out the week prior to surgery.
I have two partially impacted wisdom teeth which are the lower ones and im so anxious bc my dentist scared me saying that I'll have a risk of getting a nerve damage since my roots are close to the nerves. did u have the same thing? roots close to the nerve?
I’m glad you had such a good experience, but it’s not always this easy😅 you’re right tho, it’s nothing to worry about too much but it’s also normal to be in quite a bit of pain, best advice is just to take it easy and be patient
@@mshmsh6368 I had to remove all 4 impacted wisdom teeth plus a back molars and my lower ones were partially bony and right up close to the nerve. I did my research and went under IV sedation so i was in a twilight sleep. The first 24 hours was extremely crazy for me because my tongue, mouth, chin, went completely numb. After 4 hours my tongue and chin came back 100% but my bottom lip took a long time. It freaked me out because it was the same areas that alot of people have complained about permanent nerve damage. By the 10th hour I was freaking out and called my oral surgeon who was a great sport. By hour 15 I started to regain feeling. It felt like a weird tingly burning sensation. And I'm happy to sat I'm past 24 hours and sensation has been completely restored. Stay away from Reddit and UA-cam videos!!!!!! That was the scariest part!
When I had my 2 sideway wisdom teeth removed, the operation took nearly 2 hours. It was so long the anesthesia starts to wear off that they had to give me another shot. I cannot eat or drink properly for a whole week. Still, no regret, being able to sleep without wisdom teeth pain is such a bless.
At 21 a U.S. Navy dentist removed my impacted wisdom teeth right before I was discharged from the Marine Corps. 35 years later I had several dozen splintered tooth fragments work their way out of my gums very slowly. They held fast after poking through my gums for weeks. The entire ordeal lasted 10-12 weeks altogether, it was awful. Those razor sharp fragments lacerated my tongue and insides of my mouth terribly to the point I couldn't eat or talk. I was miserable and lost around 15 lbs. Finally I had an epiphany; I went to the drugstore and got dental wax such as some use for braces. Finally my mouth started to heal, I could eat and talk. I only wish I had thought of it sooner.
Not eating or drinking properly is the worst part. It made me feel pretty pathetic and I totally lost my appetite because I just didn't _want_ any of that soft crap and it's not what I'd normally eat. If I'd fallen down the stairs and broken my legs then I could at least have had a proper dinner.
Wonder Boy it’s a bit different, they use local Anastesia (I know I didn’t spell it right) which doesn’t know you out but it does remove pain and makes you forget about the surgery.
if you go to a dentist it’s usually done under a local anaesthetic, but i know that in australia if you go to a private hospital you can get it done under a general and get knocked out
I'm 28 and I finally got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed a week ago. Completely harmless procedure. I went to bed and when I woke up, it was over. Still feeling numb, but I'm healing just fine.
Nicholas Saini were any of them impacted? I'm 27 nd I have been putting it off for a few years but now I really habe no choice I'm in a lot of pain from two impacted bottom wisdoms
Queen S really? they make you sign something? did not know that. I have 4 impacted and it's causing jaw problems so I need to get it out. really have no choice at this point or risk it messing up all the other teeth in my mouth. I can already feel it happening with the pain and tightness I feel in my mouth. I wish I didn't have any impacted. I'm terrified of getting cut and infection or worse dry socket.
Im 29 and just had my lower left one out (partially erupted) and yes, i did end up with very very painful nerve damage, its been a few weeks and the surgeon and my dentist say im healing just fine but there is damage to the nerve and no one can tell me when/if the pain will stop. Get them out as soon as you can let me be your warning
i got emergency surgery on 4 impacted wisdom teeth today. i was absolutely terrified of going and my body shook the whole time i filled out the paperwork. if you’re getting yours taken out and you’re horribly scared like i was, be sure to do research and find a gentle surgeon, just tell your surgeon before you get there and they may be able to refer you to a more accommodating office if they don’t feel like they’re a good fit. the biggest thing that helped me: IV SEDATION. one minute i was listening to music with the nurse, next thing i know i wake up to my husband smiling and telling me we can go home. I have bits of memory that are foggy but i never said anything crazy like the videos online, i could walk, read, and function pretty normal nearly right after. tl/dr i had 4 impacted wisdom teeth and emergency surgery and im actually less scared of the dentist now. get iv sedation and do research
I have the one on bottom left side where the gum is over the tooth. they keep going up and down again I been having headaches too and jaw pain I go for consultation March 14th
I have a class three jaw and my mouth is extremely small. I only have 15 (adult) teeth because thats all the room my mouth has. All four of my wisdoms were a level three, so much so that I lost other teeth as well. Went into surgery at 6 AM, came out at 4 pm. I had eight teeth removed from my face. 2 were touching my sinus cavities. Doc did an amazing, professional, clean cut job and I have the perfect smile now in my opinion, but if you do have pain in the wisdom tooth areas, get it checked out, because I thought my pain was just from chewing to hard or grinding my teeth at night again until I saw the x rays. Sometimes one gum pain can turn out to be a case of 8 impacted teeth you never knew existed. Stay healthy and wishing you all a good time!
My prayers go out for anyone who has to deal with either of the second two. Thank you for this video. I found it not only highly informative, but very comforting to learn about.
Heh literally had an X-ray today revealing I have one of each of the final two options. Unfortunately I've also got a weird disability of the connective tissues so I'm definitely getting put under and will probably heal from the whole thing really, really slowly 🙄
UPDATES- May not be good to read if you're scared. But will also help with tips!💜 Just my experience, we're all different I got all taken out, I was fully conscious, saw and heard everything. The worst part of the whole procedure by FAR was 8 needles on my mouth, the rest barely felt like anything but a bit of pressure. I went into shock a fee times during the first tooth, not knowing what to expect. I was dizzy but all around fine, I walked up and down 3 flights of stairs alone and didn't have issues. The healing process for me on the other hand has been hell. I got it done last Thursday and it's still a bloody damn mess! My bottom ones hurt like hell, 2 tylenols and lots of ice. I decided to try eating a hardish food, a cracker and I cup my gums open, its basically just a little flap (very stupid idea) but itll heal and doesn't hurt. Eating will give you pain, so less talking and chewing the better. All my stitches fell out rather than dissolved. Other than the bit of pain in my back bottom ones, it's not the worst thing ever. But it's definitely a pain in the ass.. and when they tell you NOT to lean your head back the first 1-2 days DON'T, swallowing excessive amounts of blood can't make you ill, I was let with a very sick feeling and nausea. Lay on stacked pillows, and keep gauze in while sleeping.! It's a must
Stoned Savage! The shot of anesthesia that they give will kinda hurt. But the procedure won't hurt unless they mess up the anesthesia. Usually the anesthesia will last for like 2-3 hours after the extraction. Make sure to take the prescribed Ibuprofen (painkiller) That will save you.
I made the mistake of glancing at the reflection of my dentist’s glasses while she was doing the procedure. Definitely would not recommend especially if you’re weak to the sight of blood like me. Edit: All jokes aside, the procedure didn’t really hurt. The most painful part would be when you feel the anesthesia numbing your nerves but even that isn’t too bad. Just make sure that you find the right dentist (mine was really accommodating and would numb the area whenever I showed signs of discomfort/nervousness + gave me a print out instructions for aftercare). Though the real hard part is the recovery. It’s really different for everyone cuz I know people who recovered immediately (got stitches removed less than a week) while I had to wait 2-3 weeks. Just make sure you don’t have anything taxing planned out during the week of the surgery and get enough rest!
I just left mine all alone without consulting a dentist. I was in pain for months until all four of the motherfuckers started to just sprout. I'm fine now.
SKSKSKSK I said the same thing! A week later I feel pain as I'm eating my chicken, I look in the mirror and I SEE BOTH MY BOTTOM ONES SPROUTED UP SKSKSKSK! I have to get them taken out because I can't deal with this pain I'm dealing with now :(. I'm NOT here for this either el oh el @@buntybunny
As someone who had impacted teeth I know that it hurts and also itches, but mostly hurts. And when I got all 4 removed, only on the first day did I have pain on them. Obviously I got painkillers from the dentist but they never really hurt after.
Hahaha because it’s not actually simple. This video is just made to explain and educate. I LOLed when i saw how easy they make it look compared to real life. Not to mention, it costs a lot of the dentist/doctor too!
Had 2 impacted wisdom teeth on the bottom jaw, like the ones shown at the last example. Maxillofacial surgeon removed all 4 wisdom teeth (2 on upper jaw as well) within an hour, zero complications. Recovered within 10 days and stitches dropped at around 30 days. The only "problem" was that the teeth were too close to the nerves and I had to get a lot of novocaine, to the point that my legs started shaking since I was maxed out ( a common symptom of high doses of novocaine, a Calcium channel blocker). Also, couldn't eat a lot during the first 2 days and the antibiotics were killing my stomach. After that it was easy peasy.
I want to share my experience of 4 days post extraction. I live in the USA and I got knocked out by the anesthesia lol Best experience imo. There was a total of 4 teeth being extracted and the procedure lasted about an hour. IT REALLY FELT LIKE 5 MINUTES. I woke up with no pain, couldn’t even feel my face tbh and I was Ok with that. I have minimal discomfort now and I am taking some meds but not much. I don’t have insurance at the moment so I did pay out of pocket and it was around $2,500 USD. Also, I am currently wearing braces and they didn’t remove them for the surgery and I didn’t bother to ask if they would or not before it. I have to say this was the best way to do this. All at once! My sister did one wisdom teeth last year and it was hell so I was terrified for myself but I was in good hands. I recommend getting a good cleaning beforehand and follow the instructions provided by the surgeon!
Just got four of my wisdom teeth out and honestly it wasn’t that bad so if you’re really worried the recovery isn’t that bad if you stay on top of your meds :)
just got all three of my wisdom teeth removed (two bottoms, one upper). They were all full bony impactions. The surgery was completed in 45 minutes. I was under laughing gas, and put under an IV. It has been 7 hours since my surgery, and so far I've felt fine!! Im 14, (pretty young)... and none of the roots were formed! Hopefully it heals from now on :)

You got your wisdom teeth taken out early! I was told to get mind taken out around 18 … Im 20 now and just about to get them taken out soon . Hopefully I didnt wait too long. Lets see
I had two impacted Wisdom teeth removed just yesterday. I had no idea when I fell asleep; I woke up and it was all done. The bleeding stopped within a few short hours. I haven't been in any pain, but taking your medication ON TIME is critical to achieving this. The side effects for me are sleepiness and a little fatigue. But so far, so good.
RandomVideoCircus Because we are supposed to be vicious animals. Ripping and tearing at food and getting cavities and losing teeth. The wisdom teeth replace those lost teeth by pushing em forward just like a shark
Because early humans ate a lot more tough foods and over time we stopped eating coarse meats, roots, and greens. As we evolved, our mouths got smaller, because we don't really need or use the wisdom teeth anymore.
ooh girl i just got 4 of my teeth pulled out at the same time today. i can't feel my face (it's been about 3 hours) but the procedure itself isn't that bad. just be prepared for a lot of bleeding, it'll go away soon
also make sure to keep some ice on your face for the swelling, i find that it helps more with the pain. take pain medication if it gets too much and treat yourself to lots of ice cream when the bleeding stops :)
shoot, girl im getting all 4 of mine out on the 28th this month! Im also only 14. All of my friends don’t even have theirs yet! Also my face is already super chubby so I’m not looking forward to having and extra chubby face.
good luck to you!! youre likely on winter break so give yourself a few days to recover afterwards. and i emphasize: eat mushy or liquidy foods like soups, mashed potatoes, etc. and dont drink out of a straw i would say for at least a week? even if you feel fine. i tried to eat normal foods 3-4 days afterwards and i got a dry socket, so the pain is still here. also don't worry about the chubby face, i have a chubby face too and it only lasted for a day c:
I had this, had minor pain, thankfully, the dentist did a pretty good job, just local anesthesia, no stitches but had absolutely no pain whatsoever. Got 3 wisdom teeth removed. BTW the hole it left was HUGE for the 1st day.
I had 3 partially impacted wisdom teeth and 1 that was more so partially erupted. I had them removed 11 years ago when I was in high school. It really wasn't that bad because I went to a good surgeon and they numbed up my mouth so I wasn't in pain when I woke up from the procedure. When the anesthetic wore off though, that was painful. I slept a lot when I got home and took some stronger ibuprofen type pills that the Dr prescribed. I wasn't able to eat chewy foods for a few days and I wanted to take it easy. But the soreness wears off after a while and you forget you even had it done.
@@patrektgaming2584 bruh I feared for my life after bleeding for 16 hours straight and throwing out a huge fucking blood clot out of my mouth every 30 minutes!!
Just got my wisdom teeth out today lol. Thought I’d watch the process after I got the procedure done and it doesn’t look too bad even though I FREAKED out before the surgery. I’m also still on anesthesia and still can’t feel my lip or my cheeks
@Admin Admin takes about 2-3 hours after operations, about an hour after your lip will just feel real cold, thats the nerves waking back up you could say lol
So I had my surgery yesterday, the 3rd kind. The surgeon had to cut into my gums and all that. He gave me laughing gas per my request and after a few minutes I couldn't even feel the shots he did to numb my mouth (I was awake for the procedure). I was trippin' the whole time and even fell asleep for 30 minutes or so. I still could hear him and his assistant talking and the tools, but I didn't care. I only felt tiny bit of pain when he started to dig in my gum to get the tooth. I've heard it break and then he started yanking - but I heard him struggle a bit and had to cut it into more pieces to get it out. Strong tooth. It took him 1 hour to pull it out. The 2nd tooth was a bit easier I guess because he did it in like half an hour. Which was nice - I slept completely through it (that gas is AMAZING, I was flying). Now I look like a hamster or a chipmunk, hiding food in my cheeks. It's swollen and a little sore. Not a lot of bleeding. Couldn't eat or drink for 3 hours because my mounth was sooo numb. He gave like 10 shots of anaesthetic. It wasn't bad, but I was soooo scared the entire time that I would feel something. Now the healing begins. I also need to do my upper right tooth and get a bone transplant there. Fun.
Alina, I didn't get that what they gave you before surgery, anaesthetic injections? Or gas? You slept during surgery? Or just your mouth part not feeling pain?
Recommendations for anyone who needs extractions: - Find a clinic where they have laughing gas. For me, it made the hour-long procedure feel like ten minutes and the injections felt like intense pressure, but not painful. - Bring eye shades and music to listen to so you can zone out. I do wish I had worn noise-canceling headphones though, because the bone drill is very loud - Look into places where you can get it done with PRF. This is where they draw your blood, spin it in a centrifuge to separate the components, and use the plasma to fill in the socket after extraction. It speeds up the healing. - Get food that you can eat with a spoon for the first few days, like mashed potatoes and yogurt. A few days later I was able to have pancakes, and it was about a week before I was back to hard foods. No rice during that week, since it can get caught in the socket
I got two of my wisdom teeth removed years ago on the right side. The top of my left side came in and didn't take long to crack. My bottom left side is starting to grow in and has punctured the gum to where it hurts. I am waiting on my insurance to kick on in January and then I am getting those two removed. I so cant wait to be relieved of this discomfort. I would go tomorrow but I cant afford it without the insurance. I will say this in regards to the process/operation I had to get the two removed on the right side. Just note I am pretty tolerant to pain. I wasn't put to sleep I was awake and they gave me plenty of numbing shots to reduce the pain. The worst part about it was the numbing shots with the needles, but like I said I am tolerant and needles have never bothered me. After that, it wasn't hard at all. I could feel the dentist tugging at my top tooth there was definitely pressure that you could feel, but there wasn't any noticeable pain. I don't remember much, but I do remember that I could feel a couple tears roll down my cheek which prompted the assistant to ask if I was ok. I was fine and wasn't in enough pain to cause the tears myself, I think it was just a bodily reaction or maybe without the numb shots it would have caused tears so thank God for that. My bottom tooth hadn't even emerged yet so they had to cut the gum to pull that wisdom tooth out. Maybe this was the tooth the few tears naturally came out, I don't remember much. I guess what I am getting at is that it isn't that bad at all and do not let the fear prevent you from getting your wisdom teeth removed. After they are removed you have to take very good care of the gum area to not cause an infection. This isn't that hard either. Also, afterwards I was given a nice prescription of some really strong pain meds. I was literally happy, smiling, and content with myself for the next almost week on the couch with not a care or pain in the world. I would also recommend getting all 4 wisdom teeth taken out at one sitting. Do not do what I did and get 2 done at a time. Although mine wasn't by choice, my coverage had maxed out and I didn't want to pay full price for the other two. But, yes please get all 4 done as to not delay it and then you'll end up waiting until the pain is unbearable before ya go in again. It is worth it, the pain is very little if any as long as you have a good dentist and you will thank yourself for doing so.
The music was a bit distracting, but the animation and narration were great. It was nice getting to see what the oral surgeon did when I had mine removed
Seriously, it wasn't bad at all. Coming from someone who had all 4 taken out while only 2 were impacted. They gave me Motrin and I took 2 pills and never had to use it again. Slight stinging but the next day, it was fine. Healed perfectly and fast.
Yeah, no. The pain isn't TOO bad, but the swelling isn't fun. I had to wear a cloth thing around my head with two pouches for ice packs constantly to get it to go down.
Same man but all 4 were impacted I had little to no pain they even cut into my nerve and jaw bone I didn't even need pain meds I had. Them but didn't take them I even smoked weed 2 days later it's been a week since they pulled them and I'm smoking like a train even with the stiches in
4 hours post surgery; I was awake during the whole process, didn’t feel a thing for the first 30-40 minutes, but since my tooth was so deep inside the bone the dentist had to use that drilling machine for a long time therefore i started to feel some tiny pain, it got worse during time but thank god in about 1hour 30mints everything was over. Now im dealing with a massive pain, using ice and only drinking water and juices, i hope it gets better soon.
okay so this is coming from someone who was stressing about this a month prior and i was bawling the morning of. but guys for whoever’s worried, as long as you have a good & experienced doctor you’re gonna be fine. laughing gas & local anesthetic is enough to calm you down & help you feel absolutely nothing. the most painful part is getting the numbing shots during the beginning & they’re really not that bad. like bro i had four full bony impactions and the surgery took like 10 minutes and i was fine 2-3 days after. get the good antibiotics & they should take away any pain you start feeling later if it’s really bad, which it shouldn’t be at least from my experience

In 2012 I had my top pair of wisdom teeth removed in Mexico for $120. The actual procedure lasted about 10 seconds. The doctor took more time injecting me with anesthetic and waiting for it to take affect lol. He told me the trick was not to pull the teeth but to dig them out and he showed me a little tool that looked like a mini screwdriver. It was awesome.
My boyfriend got his wisdom teeth taken out in December. I remember being in shock because of how fast the procedure took. It was all done in a matter of about 5 minutes
I got my fully impacted wisdom teeth out at age 13, which was a journey. I had an IV in me to fully put me to sleep, and I never really remembered falling asleep. Just laying my head back, and then waking up like I had slept for 50 years. I woke up to people around me saying things like "good job" and stuff, I assume for the successful operation. I know some words, along with the alphabet, in ASL, so I tried really hard to spell my questions out. I ended up using the drawing app on my mom's phone, because I could write, but not speak. The doctor said that they also hit my sinuses while taking all 4 out, so I couldn't exercise for a few weeks. I remember looking out the window and taking a few naps, before we got home. I was adamant about walking (for some reason), but I had to hold onto everything for dear life. I also remember writing in a leather sketchbook to my mom, but she wouldn't let me have my phone back until at least an hour passed. I put on my favourite TV show on the 2nd episode, and then napped and woke up to I think the 13th? It was the 4th to last day of school as well, and I had therapy the next day. So I went there the next day, and then went back to school Thursday and Friday, for my last 2 days of 7th grade. Would not recommend, though. I couldn't talk very well, and I was tired the entire time. I also had just gotten my braces off, so my nasty clear retainers became even nastier. I had to eat soft foods for a few weeks, though it felt like forever. I distinctly remember opening my mouth wide so all of my friends could look inside my mouth, and see the holes in the back of my mouth. There is still a large divot at the back of my mouth, too, where they made the incision. Instead of a flat surface behind my molars, I got a little valley back there.
I've watched this video a few times now, and now it's finally time. Tonights my last night with wisdom teeth. I've seen a few videos on them, and this one in particular has really made me feel better about it.

They’re totally normal, LOL. Inside each bone is the “bone marrow”, where it kind of looks like a sponge. (Sorry if I got something wrong, I learned this like 5 years ago)
I had the second procedure done and it all went perfectly. I couldn't believe how good I felt, until the next morning. I woke up and had a pillow full of blood and I was woozy as could be. Went to the bathroom and passed out, face first into the tile floor and woke up in a puddle of blood. Good times.
The doctor put me to sleep and I was whooping his ass while I was out. He woke me up half way through the surgery and he was mad as hell. I did remember a thing. 😂
Uhhhhh, Wisdom Tooth extraction is not done in full anaesthesia. The scary part is that you are wide awake during the whole thing and the pain kicks in later
It’s been 3 months since the removal of my impacted wisdom tooth and my holes are just now closed up. The 2 days after surgery are worst in my opinion. Tylenol and ice packs got me through it.
i had the last type of impaction in the video, removed with only local anesthesia lol. removal was memorable in the best way-- the oral maxillofacial surgeon and her assistant were so sweet and professional that I remember exactly zero pain or anxiety at any point during the procedure
Parents out there reading this, if your kid or teen complains about pain in the back of their mouth due to a wisdom tooth; *GET IT REMOVED EVEN AGAINST THEIR WILL ASAP!* My stupid behind waited until I was 30, and boy did it destroy my mouth, all because I was terrified of the pain I'd have to deal with. Should have gotten them removed at 16 when it started.
I had all 4 out under conscious sedation.i did this on a Friday to be back at work Monday. At 1st when I got the oxygen thing put over my nose I got a little in panic mode felt like I couldnt breathe. After I mentioned that they told me it was panic and i ended being very relaxed. I asked did they start yet and they had 3 done already. Didn't take any pain meds that were prescribed and later that night if I wanted I could of went out and did errands. By sat night I was 75% better. I ate mashed potatoes first night and had a lot of ice cream milkshakes and frostys so buy extra ice cream. 2nd day I ate Mac n cheese. If you are able to get sedation I would. If you can't they numb you anyway only gonna feel pressure of pulling.
Me : *almost done with puberty and whatnot"* My body: "we need to rebrand. How a bout more TEETH. Yeah yeah this could work, i mean it already did that one time right guys? Couple years ago"
When I got mine out the one on the bottom right was the closest to the nerve while the others were easier to get out (either by taking the whole tooth out at once or needing to break it a little) but otherwise having an iv and local anesthesia was my best friend at the time. As soon as I got the anesthesia I was out and bam, the doctor did the surgery, I woke up, went home, and slept basically the whole major part of the recovery and still have a bit of pain but otherwise I’m fine. When they say to ice it to try and get ahead of the swelling and pain, listen to them it was a lifesaver for me
Lindsay Stamford It's naturally filled with blood which is a part of the healing process in your jaw bone. The hole is just temporary and weeks later a new bone tissue will form, making the hole disappear like there was never a tooth there.
They'll numb your jaw so you won't really feel anything. The most painful thing when I had one of mine removed was ironically the anesthesia needle, the surgery itself wasn't painful. It was extremely loud when they were drilling into the jaw bone though, and the scratching sounds were not fun. You'll be okay though, and you'll get strong painkillers afterwards. Expect blood on your pillow the next morning, my bed looked like I had been through a fight during the night. XD
All 4 of mine were fully impacted. I had asked at first to have just one removed during my appointments, but the recovery was so annoying and I was so anxious before each procedure that I needed medication just to stop me from shaking so bad that I shook the entire chair. I ended up asking my dentist, to just remove the last two in one appointment. Honestly, the pressure was bad, but the scraping and drilling the bone was the worst. I couldn’t feel anything but pressure, but the sounds will stay in my head for a long time. Especially that final “ripping” sound when the teeth were finally pulled out. Though apparently they were so large that they had to be pulled out in 3 pieces, and the roots of all 4 teeth were fused. I wasn’t knocked out, nor given gas or anything. I was simply frozen. I barely have any scarring, and they healed wonderfully, no nerve damage whatsoever. But the process of healing as I said, was annoying. Could only have liquids, and all my favourite foods were taunting me.
Hi! Similar situation to you in that I have two teeth that are fully impacted and two that are partially impacted. I'm contemplating removing them all in one sitting, but I don't know if it'll be too much for me if I'm only getting freezing 😂 I kinda want to get it all over with so I don't have to go back again! If you don't mind sharing, do you think your recovery with your two teeth was tougher than when you only removed one, or was it about the same?
@@SapphireEchos It was about the same, honestly. I basically slept my recovery off. The moment I got home, I put a towel on my pillow and took a nap. Trust me on the towel. You’re going to be drooling and you don’t want blood on your pillow. You will need pain relief, and the soup, you’ll want something that has a bit of salt in it, like maybe tomato soup, It’ll help stop the bleeding and it’ll hasten the healing process. But you’ll need to take it easy. You’ve gotten a bit luckier than me. Mine were all fully impacted. Try asking if you can listen to music while in there to maybe cut out the drilling sounds. These are the tips I gave to my friend who recently got all 4 of his removed in one sitting. But I’m not a doctor, so it’d be best to listen to your dentist. Just for the recovery, lots of sleep and pain killers and soup lol but this is everything I did. 🤣
@@VampireSultana thank you for the tips! probably saved a couple of my pillowcases from ruin, haha. I'll definitely ask about getting music to block out some noise, thanks for sharing your experiences!!
@@SapphireEchos Just be aware that your doctor might not want you to have music on or anything, simply because he or she would want you to hear if a question is asked. But you can always ask!! I had the biggest heap of anxiety when getting mine removed. It was so bad that I actually couldn’t stop shaking, even the chair was shaking! I had to be prescribed medication. Thinking back, she gave me a choice between removing them all at once or in different appointments. I should have chosen to get them removed all at once. That’s why, for the last appointment, I told her to just get the last two out at once. I almost begged lol. Just make sure to ask lots of questions. Anything for recovery, and for comfort during and after the procedure!
When my gums were like that, I used to rip the top part with my fingernail. One time, I had one wisdom tooth growing out from the upper right jaw and it was very painful with gum of the upper jaw being mashed with wisdom tooth from the lower jaw and one that was covered with. I obviously ripped it, but it was very painful and bled for quite some time. I could feel my gum flobbing where I had previously ripped and decided to rip it off. Apparently, I had ripped a chunk of the dangling gum that became purple and no pain was found after that. My wisdom tooth in that place is now exposed and doesn't hurt anymore.
HUH it’ll probably hurt again soon. My wisdom teeth first bothered me when I was 17. I just got them removed a week ago because they hurt again. Now I’m 19
Thank you so much for this. I have one wisdom tooth out already (fully erupted -- simple extraction that took a few minutes), but have another one coming out next week that's only partially erupted. This certainly helped calm me down.
Got my wisdom teeth removed under local anaesthesia (in two parts over two weeks) and my face wasn’t even puffy and had no pains at all so I didn’t have to take any medicines. Idk if it’s the great doctor or just my strong body’s response but damn I felt nothing and I am a hypochondriac :P was so stressed out by everyone’s bad experiences. If any of you are stressed: please don’t. Everyone reacts differently!
i hope that's the same for me ..having one impacted wisdom tooth out end of november...i suffer anxiety and worry don't cope well with pain..wish me luck :/
@@Dion_Mustard don’t stress! stress is the medicine. if you’re getting them locally removed remember that they’ll be much more gentle than under full anaesthesia. they will make you feel comfortable. my heart was also racing so fast but it’s important to know that it has to be out for your own good! good luck! you got it 🌟
@@gugugaga1233 thank you that means alot, and i guess even if i have tremendous pain i must remember it won't last forever. my only other concern is my tooth is very close to my nerve. so there is a chance of bruising or damaging the nerve which can result in numbness tingling etc.
@@Dion_Mustard Yes and you will still get some antibiotics probably. It'll be okay. Let's hope you have a great oral surgeon!! Fingers crossed. Even if you get bruised it'll go away in a week! Don't panick.
I remember getting my wisdom teeth out, i was 14. Got it done early in the morning, went home and chilled . Then went out skateboarding that night. They gave me painkillers but i was only taking a half at a time leading up to that night, i didn't wanna be of balance. In every other case of my friends or family having it done they where down for about 2 days. The only time it hurt is if i yelled loud and opened my mouth wide.
I had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out a week ago, and I think it’s been going pretty decently!! My mouth is quite small and all of my wisdom teeth were super close to my nerve, and luckily enough I have all my feeling back! As for the process: day 1 I was numb and high as a kite lol, I made sure to take advantage of the numbness to eat a whole bunch of stuff, super easy. The only thing was that I got lightheaded when standing up and walking to the mirror to change the gauze, and I fainted 😂 Days 2 and 3 were so painful tho, I have to wait a couple more hours between taking my painkillers because I’m very small, so not too fun. Days 4 and 5 the pain and swelling drastically went down and I could finally eat better, and these past 2 days have been a breeze! The worst part for me was eating(drinking) enough food to feel ok, the anxiety of messing up the aftercare, and when they put the iv in before the surgery haha. Also I found it really hard to keep my teeth clean with the soft diet, I had a weird sticky residue on my teeth for like 3 days, I had to ask the dentist for different toothpaste and he gave me a stronger toothbrush for it too😭I literally had to scrub my teeth off with a cloth before brushing it one day, it was kinda gross. Anyways what really helped me was only making sure to eat stuff like soup, applesauce, flan, jello, soft boiled eggs, Mac n cheese (the cylindrical ones), and blended fruit/smoothies, along with lots of water. Absolutely no chewing though, only swallowing. Probiotics help a lot too, they suggested I take them with my antibiotic pills, so I got a big pack of yakult, 10/10 definitely recommend. I just started irrigating the bottom ones and because I’ve been avoiding chewing things and keeping up with a more liquid diet for a little longer than some people, it’s been really easy and painless! I still have a little pain and stiffness in my jaw, but that’s to be expected since surgery took an hour bc I again have a small mouth and they were all impacted with a risk of nerve damage. Overall, the anxiety of messing up and the eating was frustrating, but if you’re scared, don’t be! Even if you have complications, they can be resolved nowadays by skilled surgeons- I say if you have any issues back there I your mouth, ask a dentist to check it out or ask for an x ray! It’s so much better having peace of mind then worrying about it and putting it off, take it from someone who waited 2 years haha. And to anyone who has an appointment scheduled, good luck!
Nooooooooooooooooooo................................ I'm not ready for this... Is there any other ways like you say open Sesame and the teeth vanishes? if there's then I'm ready.

In the UK, dentist do not remove asymptomatic wisdom teeth whether impacted or not. They are only removed if they cause recurrent symptoms or are endangering the health of the adjacent tooth. Most impactions can be dealt with by the patient knowing how to keep the site clear of plaque and food impaction.
Was hoping my wisdom teeth wouldn't bother me until after my braces treatment, but of course I start having issues 3 days before my bonding appointment. All I see are $$ I am not prepared to dish out.

Why does being a human come with such scary needs
Evolution, unfortunately. Our ancestors had a different diet that made use of the extra teeth. They had stronger jaws for heavy chewing. There's no intelligence in this design. It's nature taking its course. Over time, evolution will eliminate the wisdom teeth and we can all celebrate from the comfort of our graves.

So you'll most likely be fine if you do the aftercare.😅
i’m so sorry. i hope you’re doing okay
Feel nice to see someone telling their experience like this and get through those times

I second this, I experienced the exact same thing you just wrote!
You are truly blessed didn’t sleep in a couple days

Wonder Boy it’s a bit different, they use local Anastesia (I know I didn’t spell it right) which doesn’t know you out but it does remove pain and makes you forget about the surgery.
if you go to a dentist it’s usually done under a local anaesthetic, but i know that in australia if you go to a private hospital you can get it done under a general and get knocked out
I just got all 4 of mine out yesterday and they knocked me out with anesthesia, I think they said something about it being required here.

Queen S really? they make you sign something? did not know that.
Nicholas Saini how did they put you under? iv, needle in the jaw or oral anesthesia?
i got emergency surgery on 4 impacted wisdom teeth today. i was absolutely terrified of going and my body shook the whole time i filled out the paperwork. if you’re getting yours taken out and you’re horribly scared like i was, be sure to do research and find a gentle surgeon, just tell your surgeon before you get there and they may be able to refer you to a more accommodating office if they don’t feel like they’re a good fit. the biggest thing that helped me: IV SEDATION. one minute i was listening to music with the nurse, next thing i know i wake up to my husband smiling and telling me we can go home. I have bits of memory that are foggy but i never said anything crazy like the videos online, i could walk, read, and function pretty normal nearly right after.

UPDATES- May not be good to read if you're scared. But will also help with tips!💜 Just my experience, we're all different
I got all taken out, I was fully conscious, saw and heard everything.
Stoned Savage! I just had mine done last sunday
This looks way easier than the real version I saw lol

One thing is missing here the amount off blood that is involved.

Then why do we have them then? I mean if they are natural, then would we all end up with crowded messed up teeth?
RandomVideoCircus Because we are supposed to be vicious animals. Ripping and tearing at food and getting cavities and losing teeth.
The wisdom teeth replace those lost teeth by pushing em forward just like a shark
Because early humans ate a lot more tough foods and over time we stopped eating coarse meats, roots, and greens. As we evolved, our mouths got smaller, because we don't really need or use the wisdom teeth anymore.

As an impacted wisdom tooth survivor, I'm blessed that it was already extracted. Same on my other wisdom teeth. :D
Just got my wisdom teeth out today lol. Thought I’d watch the process after I got the procedure done and it doesn’t look too bad even though I FREAKED out before the surgery. I’m also still on anesthesia and still can’t feel my lip or my cheeks
The procedure was also fairly easy because the teeth on the bottom were at the surface already through the gums.
How long did it take to heal?
@Admin Admin takes about 2-3 hours after operations, about an hour after your lip will just feel real cold, thats the nerves waking back up you could say lol
So the anesthesia isnt that bad at all? And I dont need to worry? 🤐
Fun.
Tell me you're joking 😭
Alina, I didn't get that what they gave you before surgery, anaesthetic injections? Or gas? You slept during surgery? Or just your mouth part not feeling pain?
Hey i'm once
Recommendations for anyone who needs extractions:
- Find a clinic where they have laughing gas. For me, it made the hour-long procedure feel like ten minutes and the injections felt like intense pressure, but not painful.
- Bring eye shades and music to listen to so you can zone out. I do wish I had worn noise-canceling headphones though, because the bone drill is very loud
- Look into places where you can get it done with PRF.
That moment you realize all 4 of your wisdom teeth are Fully Impacted. 😥

4 hours post surgery;
I was awake during the whole process, didn’t feel a thing for the first 30-40 minutes, but since my tooth was so deep inside the bone the dentist had to use that drilling machine for a long time therefore i started to feel some tiny pain, it got worse during time but thank god in about 1hour 30mints everything was over.

It doesn't hurt at all anathesia??? Weird Americans
When they say to ice it to try and get ahead of the swelling and pain, listen to them it was a lifesaver for me
Wait...so they just leave a GIANT FREAKING HOLE UNDERNEATH YOUR GUMS? THEY DON'T FILL IT IN WITH ANYTHING?
Lindsay Stamford It's naturally filled with blood which is a part of the healing process in your jaw bone. The hole is just temporary and weeks later a new bone tissue will form, making the hole disappear like there was never a tooth there.
Whatever you do thought don't smoke during the healing process you'll get dry socket and your gums will heal up with the holes being visable.
Fuck they peel away my gums revealing my bones fuck oh shit i have to be awak for this
They'll numb your jaw so you won't really feel anything. XD
Håkon T. Lol I was unconscious

_WyS3r_ Still no problem with the wisdom tooth I mentioned.
HUH it’ll probably hurt again soon. My wisdom teeth first bothered me when I was 17. I just got them removed a week ago because they hurt again. Now I’m 19
Damn
Sounds exactly like mines in the same spot, except it’s a little chipped and cracked... DO YOU KNOW DE WAY?
HUH dude wtf
An perfect video to watch before you go to sleep just the right amount of uncomfy fuel for some messed up dreams
Hahaha i love your crazy comment
I remember getting my wisdom teeth out, i was 14. Got it done early in the morning, went home and chilled . Then went out skateboarding that night. They gave me painkillers but i was only taking a half at a time leading up to that night, i didn't wanna be of balance. In every other case of my friends or family having it done they where down for about 2 days. The only time it hurt is if i yelled loud and opened my mouth wide.
pov: you fell asleep first at the sleepover
In animation it looks so easy ...... But still I feel that pain while undergoing it
I had all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out a week ago, and I think it’s been going pretty decently!!
POV you foolishly went to sleep first at the sleepover
Nooooooooooooooooooo................................ I'm not ready for this... Is there any other ways like you say open Sesame and the teeth vanishes? if there's then I'm ready.
Ik I feel like ima have to get my wisdom teeth out soon and that'll b my first surgury I'm not scared the only thing I'm afraid of is waking up during it, feeling pain during it, and death since there was 1 in 2014 and 2016
In the UK, dentist do not remove asymptomatic wisdom teeth whether impacted or not.
Natalia S. Lmao I live in Canada with FREE health care. Drink your alcohol while it’s cheap though. Maybe the states will smarten up and realize health care is more important than alcohol
Dang u guys have yours removed so early I had mine removed at the age of 10
