THE SAD REALITY OF REJECTING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him.
    John 1:10 - 11
    1. The world did not know Him
    2. His own did not receive (Welcome) Him
    3. The sad reality of rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ
    a. From the Gentiles
    b. From the Jews
    4. All who reject the Lord remain in spiritual darkness without the life of God in them!
THE LIFE THAT THE LORD JESUS GIVES TO ALL WHO RECEIVE HIM
    1. The privilege to become children of God
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
    John 1:12 - 13
    a. The right to become children of God is given by the Lord Jesus to all who receive Him with faith!
    b. They would be “born of God” into His Family
    2. The privilege to follow the Lord Jesus Christ as His disciple
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
    John 1:14
    a. The disciples had the privilege to behold the glory of the Lord!
    b. Their lives were greatly impacted and transformed by the Lord Jesus!
    i. He is full of grace!
ii. He is full of truth!
    3. The great potential of a Christian life!
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
    John 1:16
    a. To receive His fullness!
    b. To be filled with the life of Christ
    i. To be filled with the life-giving Word of the Lord Jesus
ii. To be filled with His light
iii. To be filled with His truth
iv. To be filled with His grace
    v. To be filled with the knowledge of God
    A GOOD NEW YEAR RESOLUTION
    1. To do more than just be called “A Christian”
    2. To pursue the full potential of a Christian life!
    3. How we may succeed
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
    2 Peter 1:2 - 3
    a. Through applying knowledge of the Lord into our life with faith in Him
    b. Through His divine power given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness!
