I discovered John through unintentional asmr videos, his voice is very calm and peaceful, love to fall asleep hearing him talk.
Don't get me wrong, I also find something I knew but long forgotten, when I hear him saying all that. I've always been interested in finding and knowing God and John helps me with that.

Literally me. I found it while looking for a new asmr video and it was the clip from this interview. I've become obsessed. I listen to his videos every night to fall asleep
EXACTLY how I discovered him. I literally searched for ‘unintentional ASMR’ and discovered this very interview albeit only the voice recording. Interestingly, I was in Bakewell around 3 months ago and saw who I thought was John cycling through the centre. At that stage I didn’t know he lived there, so in the comments section on one of his videos, I asked if it was him I’d seen. He very kindly replied and confirmed it was him. I will definitely speak to him if I’m lucky enough to see him the next time I’m in Bakewell. He’s a wonderful man and someone I listen to every night.
Atleast some people are honest!
To be perfectly honest, this person could be talking about the specifics of the different types of wallpaper and I would probably still enjoy listening to him speak. But it's lovely that he's also imparting wisdom on top of being a joy to listen to.
Lovely man John Butler, honest about his flaws, his mistakes in life but his spiritual truth shines out of him.

I discovered ConsciousTV as a result of an interest in the Carthusian Order.
I was searching for more information on a film called "Into Great Silence" and found an interview with Miek Pot conducted by Iain's wife, Renate.
The interview with John appeared in the channel and one thing led to another.

That interview was how I first was introduced to John. Thank you John for your gentle spirit and teachings. The world needs more people like you.

@@trudesquires1089- Trudie, have you thought that spirit or your father guided you to listen to people who comfort you, he was guiding you before his passing, remember, the physical body cannot transition, it is the soul, the spirit what does, and energies can communicate , he knows of your journey in the physical realm and in time you will sense his love.
I’m so glad I discovered this channel a year ago. I’m in a very overwhelming part of my life as a growing student; and simply coming home and watching him brings me so much comfort. God bless.

One day in my life I came upon this very video from ConsciousTV. It is a day I am very thankful for. I was turned on to the channel from that video, and periodically check in to see John's insights into our existence. Today, in this troubling time, this intro has brought me to tears. The love and the light that John brings into this world is a gift, and exactly what I needed right now. Thank you anyone and everyone that is a part of making this possible.
I was never really a religious man, I never truly cared about it until I heard John Butler’s story. For about 8 months I was flat out depressed due to family and personal issues, I felt lost and that my path was a blurred disaster. But once I heard these interviews and listening to his work via videos and books, yes I bought his books at the age of 15. But after doing all of that I truly feel free and meditating made me truly and I really mean truly felt free, Ive never been happier in life and I’ve made about 5x the friends I used to have ever since I discovered John Butler. I’m going t keep this comment short, goodbye y’all have a good one, thank you John Butler.

This is a great interview. It’s very helpful to hear about spiritual experiences and learn from them. The experience where he outlines being comforted by a ram, when he was going through a difficult time, is similar to an experience another person shared with me. They were going through depression and didn’t know what to do in the moment. Suddenly their cat came over and did a similar comforting gesture with it’s head. These simple moments need to be cherished. And in a way they can be more powerful to the person experiencing them than a great work of art.

I’m going through a nasty child costudy case. Where my girlfriend battles her ex for her 15 year old daughter. It drains every single drop of energy out of us everyday. Everytime i try to rest my head this occupies my mind. I’m also an Atheist. But your stories and soothing calmness gets me where i want to be. I got into asmr about two years ago, cause i had trouble sleeping because of my ADHD. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart John Butler. Your views on faith and God is something i actually respect. I’m not always agreeing but i respect every single word that comes out of your mouth. I spend an hour with you every day. I want you to know that. I love you and the day you stop doing this will be a sad day for alot of people. I’m just thankful we can all hold on to these amazing videos and books you created. I'm fortunate to be living in a spiritual community that subscribes to many of the values that you so willingly share.. I chanced upon you whilst looking for other spiritual material and have been watching your videos on a loop for the last couple of days.. You're a rare and true inspiration John, such a wise and warm soul that's so easy to connect with.. I also meditate morning and evening, find peace in solitary excursions into nature and, interestingly, spend a lot of time talking to the sheep that we share our beautiful island with.. If I had the money I'd love to come to visit you on one of your silent retreats, but alas the life of an island custodian makes travelling far afield quite difficult.. I had no idea what meditation was until I listened hap hazardly to John butler while I was listening i transcended on 2 separate occasions I’m 70 never excepted that I fell in love with everything and every one so sad it was only for less than an hour of bliss but I now meditate and find out gods love and it’s beautiful better than Disney ride keeps me looking ever forward and it’s brighter than the moonlight So pure drawing me to want it like a moth to the light Non dememenciional Plane of joy sublime

My thoughts this afternoon.
Sadly we have been stuck in this mechanical materialistic view of ourselves and our world for so long that we have forgotten that we came from nature and we are a part of nature.
When we again find the truth and the natural beauty of nature is when we will fine true peace and harmony with our questions, ourselves, and nature itself. When we find nature again we will find the true meaning of life and why we are here.

I’m not religious but John Butler is such an interesting chap. Certainly makes you think. Particularly on how to at least try to put things in to perspective which can be a hard thing to do in some cases. Thank you for these posts!

I've been told for years i looked Russian. I knew I was English from my moms side but my Father never knew his roots.. My Dad was a very sensitive man and cried openly when he was in terrible pain. I too was always told that I wore my heart on my sleeve and my friends could be cold.. I would express that I loved them and the response was oh my gosh , you're so sensitive. Interestingly I thought they'd love hearing that as I know I would've and they eventually said it in later years. My mom nervously laughed when I'd say I loved her as well. Hurts alot 💔

Every single one, dead or alive, sooner or later proclaims this hierarchy with the eternal on top.
and why wouldn't they? Spirit is perceived as masculine and matter is mater: Mother.

John is a very special man. I enjoy his stories and his observation of the spiritual world. I think he's an old hippie that probably used a bit of psychedelics in his youth....I respect his words,but I can't connect them to any real sense of "guidance" that effects me in my journey.
