Awesome video! As for the connecting dots thing, I think most people pretend that they know where they are going, but in reality we’re all in a similar situation, doing our best with what we’ve got. Reminds me of the Steve Jobs quote, “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”

Wow... y'know, I always thought having an unexplainable annoyance of "being told what to do" was just a me thing, but hearing you talk about how you also experience that really helped me feel less alone trying to understand it
I'm still exploring myself and working on why that's the case, but hey it's such a huge relief that I'm not the only one that experiences it, and I hope you're also able to figure that out for yourself
Thank you for sharing that about you, Egee, and thank you for yet another fantastic video~ 🥰

I relate to this bunches and bunches as well. At least for me, I think this phenomenon is caused by PDA, or pathological demand avoidance, which causes people to experience incredible discomfort when given commands, or being told what to do.
If you're curious, you should look up PDA and see if it describes the feelings you have.

I usually prefer doing things alone, just because I can have fun and not be pacing around.. Also 13:22 perked my ears being called Flufferschnoot like that

Egee, you're totally right about only learning while having fun! I'm the same way and I imagine most people are too. For me, I've found that the trick is to find ways to make things fun.
For example, for your singing lessons, maybe the way to improve would be to understand exactly how the "unfun" stuff will help you in your singing. If you think about how "after this I'll be so much better at holding a note or singing loudly or having more breath" maybe you'll have more fun learning that stuff!
Having fun is part of it, but also taking ownership of your learning and not just doing something because someone told you, but because you understand how it's meant to help you improve and you want to improve! That's what works for me, anyway. I always need to know why I'm learning something and how it will help me. It helps to think of the other person as a resource I am using as a source of information rather than someone who is going to reach me something y'know?

ALSO yes music is so interconnected with ASMR! If you've never listened to Patricia taxxon before she makes some wonderful asmr-esque music that tickles my brain in much the same way

i relate to a lot of this and actually was only barely able to graduate recently. my teachers used to always tell me they saw potential in me but i just wasnt able to show it, which i feel like is pretty accurate. im not dumb, i wouldnt say im lazy either. but there was no way for me to tell the teachers or my parents that, they just looked at me funny whenever i tried to

Thank you, for being the one person who can calm me down. So many things in my life (and others’), are just so repressing and stressful. It’s nice to be able to just even for a little bit, be able to calm down and be at peace with oneself. Thanks. Apologies if I’m incoherent.

You mentioned music theory, there’s a channel I love on here, Scruffy, that does music theory and adaptive audio videos. They’re always very engaging and fun. Idk, hope you see this.

So I've watched this before, and im late because i forgot to comment back then...
but i feel not enjoying being told what to do and following rules per say might be a sign of ODD** not add or Adhd!
It might not even be super severe per say,
Odd is "Oppositional Defiant Disorder"! The definition is: "a type of behavior disorder. It is mostly diagnosed in childhood. Children with ODD show a pattern of uncooperative, defiant, and hostile behavior toward peers, parents, teachers, and other authority figures."
Might be intresting to look into!
I could also be wrong!?? So dont take my full words for it,

      @OpenEgee  8 місяців тому +1

ODD is an interesting take.. I think "past-me" may have liked that label but I've since transcended labels. I just am who I am.
I look at my distrust for authority as a form of cynicism rather than a disorder of the mind. I look at myself and how I see authority figures and I understand the rationality; those in places of power have the ability to exploit. I can avoid exploitation entirely by simply avoiding authority.

@OpenEgee that's a good way to putt it! And.. not everything IS a mental disorder per say! So it's definitely possible that it might just be how you drive in life! 🎉
Totally get wanting to do things for yourself so Its done the way you want tho, I'm like that too, and solid trait of personality is being perfectionist 😂
