Story about neighbor not understanding New Mexico is a US state is really common. While active duty and being sent to Kirkland AFB I had a lot of friends and family ask about my passport to go.
Sounds more like the cat adopted them as it's humans. Abandoned/neglected/stray cats will look for better humans who actually care for them and are nice to them. Pretty hard to steal a cat in the first place, unless you're trapping it indoors (which would be cruel to do to an outdoor cat like this, who would do better as indoor/outdoor with a pet door) and if they want to go back, they've been known to travel incredible distances, up to hundreds of miles. If the cat stays, it has chosen a new home with these humans.
neighbor storry. yea the police wouldent care about a cut hose like that, if proof and for some reason tryed to sue in small claims the judge might have been angry for op for wasting the courts time to over 2 inches of a hose. if gone on to ops property and cut it to ribbons and had proof of who did it then maybe worth it but like op mentioned they had way to mutch going on with a dying family member to worry about something like that at all. oh and cat naping part, op did all they could to find the owners. asked the rest of the neighbors, put up flyers in the area to see if someone was missing a pet, had it checked for microchips etc. no one come fort claiming the cat and if someone did own it in the neighborhood it was higely neglected also the police advice to op of getting cameras was a good one for sure :)
I think it'd be awesome if an HOA forms but ripe refuses to join ah imagine the stories I bet the HOA would try to fine him for telling his stories here under some bull rule like "can't badmouth the HOA" but at least ripe would be well prepared & know to install cameras & get a lawyer on retainer
Hey tell her to look into getting a bigger house and tell your mom if shes so worried she can let them live with her once she moved in it'll be a up hill battle to get rid of her and the kids
i just looked up if a pool devalues your home and it doesn't. in fact its the opposite it makes it more valuable, so that karan isnt only flat out wrong she is plain stupid.
Starting an HOA in your place? Better keep a good watch on them. Have a yearly election. Have the funds under transparent scrutiny. Bring media or cameras in if necessary If they start making crazy rules and fines, gather the community to disband the HOA asap, or replace the board members.
how many times do I have to say it: criminals need to keep a low profile in order not to get discovered. if you're already doing tax fraud becoming a tyrant is the worst thing you can do! I mean what was she thinking when she was filling up the pool of concrete? that the owner would not come and Sue her for the damages? personally if I had my way I would have her personally dig out the concrete with her own bare hands with a pickaxe!! along with the punishment she got from the government. it's people like this that need to learn that they are not invincible. and if you keep thinking that you're invincible one moment the world is going to come and collapse on you and you will have nothing left! I also hope that the op got the pool were paired. because it's such a shame to leave a pool in such a condition. also devaluing the neighborhood only happens when you're a tyrant hoa! because nobody wants to live where the rules are so strict they basically have no freedom does the valuing the neighborhood because nobody wants to live in it! not just because one individual person has a pool? also what was the big idea by having to reapply for permits that happened long ago. If anything I would have just taken her to court over that. but at least when it comes to greedy Karen's they always end up being their own demise.
the devalue part is what I agree on, it's like living a prison more then a nice friendly neighborhood, which yeah i heard stories of HOAs imprisoning owners in their own home, all cause they chose not pay the ridiculous fines they mailed him, and also others where they think a wheelchair ramp is devaluing the place, never realizing that a ramp is safer then stairs, and they made some stupid bylaw excuse of they they need to demolish the ramp, so yeah some of these HOAs care more about being strict and making easy out if the owners, rather then to figuring how to make the neighborhood more safer, and also they never seem to care that their insane actions are indeed devaluing the very neighborhood they sore to protect and such.
Ripe, don't just not join, actively campaign against the formation of the HOA in the first place. Make sure all of your neighborhood members know what a bad idea it is.
PSA: Always have security cameras if you have an HOA, Karen or Kevin...anywhere in the area. Always call police if crimes are committed on you or your property. Story 2: Seriously? These idiots were fucking with people they thought were in a cartel? They are really lucky that they weren't in one...would have been bad deaths! Story 3: OP is NTA. The sister needs to climb down off her entitlement high horse and fuck right off! Expecting OP to just GIVE her the house...oh hell no! Story 4: The old adage is: Tall fences make good neighbors.
They should have put Karen into chains and give her a pickaxe and start digging up the cemented pool. 😂😂😂 Edit: Also put a lifesize image of a security guard holding a shotgun near her. That'll be hilarious. 😂😂😂😂
Sh1tty neighbor story: telling them to call the police over the cut hose must get different results in California than it would in North Carolina. I have a cr4p neighbor too. The first day he started threatening to kill any wild life or stray cats in his yard. Then he came onto my property and cracked a branch off of one of my trees and shoved it back up into the tree. Police have been called more than once but they just tell us it's a civil matter. I guess they want me to handle it.
The EM in the story “Sister want to live in my house” is going try to escalate further sadly, as she sounded it seems she might try and get OP kicked out of there own house with lies and cops. Other entitle people have gone that far and it always start with that tone.
Third story: This is basically the Do It For Dan scenario where the parent wants OP to give her house to the Golden Child and not have her pay rent. Don't let her live in your house that you earned.
i would think she was requierd to pay close to 100k to op to if not more ofc it would depend on the sice of the pool but i would think the entire pool needed to be removed then rebuilt and its the potentialy damaged pipes to not to mention the damages to ops yard when it comes to removing the old pool and instaling a new one because it was filled with concrete and that would require some heavy machinery to remove. i would think she might have gothen a few months to couple of years in prison for destroying the pool to.
So the neighbors believed that OP was a cartel member, a group known for being violent organize crime, and decided to antagonize them? That could have been very unwise.
part that gets me is how utterly mind mumbling quick the HOA went into hell, no one want to be president ok none there must be X period that the person been IN the neighbourhood before able to seat on the board AND not top seat
Sure, sis, you and your kids can move in with me while doing me the favor of letting me stay here in my own house, because you deserve it. Not in this lifetime. Great stories, Ripe. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Lawn Mowing Story: OP and her Husband need to install Cameras to watch their yard/doors and at least a post & Wire fence to mark the boundary between their Property and the Drunk Neighbour's Property so he never again accidentally mows part of their yard or in any way steps foot in their yard...Also a Certified, Signature Required Letter needs to be sent informing both Drunks that they are no longer welcome on OP's Property again and if they EVER step foot on it the Police will be called and they will be Charged with Trespassing...and likely Being Drunk In Public as well considering how early she at least starts drinking and how fast she puts it away... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Have I ever had "interesting" neighbors? I suppose so. One comes to mind. A few years back, I lived in a neighborhood just outside the town's city limits and was also just outside an Army base. We lived on a cul-de-sac around then and were the only house on the road at the time. Eventually a house was built across the road from ours and soon after a family moved into it. A man and a woman from what I can tell around my parents' age, if not a little younger, and their two teenage sons. The mother was meek that she barely spoke and was rarely seen, so I don't remember much of her. The father was this overweight asshole of a man that liked to act like since we were outside the city limits, he could do whatever he wanted. And his sons apparently learned that behavior, because they acted the same way. Making noise all hours of the night, drinking, partying, riding ATVs around on property they didn't own. Eventually while I was having a friend of mine from a neighboring town live with me and my parents for a time, one of the teenage sons and my friend got into a heated argument right in the middle of the road. I don't recall what it was about, but it really irritated my mother, who while short, was retired from the Army. She actually almost intervened while holding a pistol behind her back, ready if they tried anything. Thankfully the jackass teenager had the sense to back down when my friend and I restrained my mother because of said pistol she was holding. They kept to themselves from what we could tell after that and eventually didn't see the sons after a few weeks. Learned about a month afterwards that the sons, both of them, were banned from the county. Not the town, the entire county, which meant the town, the Army base, and all the towns around that base. As extreme as my mother's reaction was, you'd have to do something incredibly stupid and extreme to be banned from an entire county. And for those of you outside of the US, a county is similar to a District in the UK. It's a region that typically is an area of land that several towns, cities, etc. might reside within.
If they mess withbthe mail or mailbox go to the post office. They have their own police for that. But it is possible the cops are just as racist as the neighbor's
As a non US citizen, (grewn up in Europe) after some of these videos. Am I right to think that HOAs are like local neigbourhood mafia that pretends to be something official to cash out on citizens and terrorizes the local neigbourhood? Im asking because there isnt such a thing in Europe. Here in Austria Local neigbourhoods are beautiful most of the time. There is no such entity to watch local neigbourhoods instead there are strict laws for what you can do and cannot do on your plot. Especially when there is a need for environmental protection.
And ot course while Karen is behind bars, the Mayor will find himself a new girlfriend. Third story: "Let us move into your house and live with you." No,. "Well how about we move into the house and we'll let you live with us?" ?????
Ok. Now I gotta ask. So. What "Country(State)" was it coming from?? Lol I remember a news story of how a couple went in to apply for their Marriage License. The first clerk then her supervisor asked them both for their passports. Because. New Mexico is Not a State and everyone knows that!! Lol I'm still shaking my head after reading it Years later.

I’ll be honest, anytime I hear somebody start a story on Reddit by insulting an area for being rural, I just assume they’re making shit up and/or left out the part where they antagonized the people messing with them. Not always true, but _waaaay_ too many stories I’ve read on Reddit over the last 12 years following this trajectory have been been boiler plate “These rural subhumans hate me for being objectively better than them!”. Like here’s a possible plothole: the OP states they moved into the area to watch after her ailing MIL, then moved when she passed. Considering it’s a house, I’d assume that means they moved in with the MIL, which means that she lived next door to these people prior to her son and daughter-in-law moving in. They’d likely know she was a doctor, so not illegal, and would have already known her by the last name Lovato as it’s the husband’s mother, so that point about the mail makes no sense. The whole thing seems extremely fishy to me.
Third story: NTA. The "compromise" was that the sister gets the ownership of the house, and as OP said they said that as if they were doing her a favor. So don't even let them get in the yard and keep at hand the deed because they will probably try to forge a fake deed.
Sister with 3 kids story: NTA, was OP'S sister wanting to move in so she didn't have to pay rent anymore and utilities? She sounds like she could have done that, in addition to conveniently loosing her job so she and her kids can wreck the house.
OP should have asked her sister: " You want my house? Sure! how much are you buying it for? If you don't mind, I'd like to sell it for more than I bought it for."
@@ThomasKent1346 Great response! I would recommend leaving out the "if you don't mind" though. The sister would definitely mind. Not only that but she may feel entitled to demand to buy for a ridiculously low-ball price which she would manipulate your mother or someone else to "loan" her.
NEVER let leeches like this move in, even temporarily! They'll claim 'squatters rights', and be stuck in like a tick. It'll take time, money and a lot of trouble to legally evict them. 🤨
I had some wicked bad neighbors about a year ago, the building I live in is one building but divided into separate apartments so each one had a front door and oddly enough there was a brick porch only for the middle two apartments 3 & 4. The doors for 3 & 4 face each other more inner of the brick porch that’s carpeted (idk why it is this place has a lot of wrong things with it) now I lived in 3 and I love to garden but secnce there was no room for a proper garden bed we did plant pots and I had them Lined up in front of the brick and on top of it on the edge so it didn’t take up space (bigger plants on the ground smaller on the brick) now I had these here long before these bad neighbors moved in and even the building owner liked them. When these people moved in there was an air about them that wasn’t quite right, the first problem that came up was my plants . One morning I went out to water them all the plants that was on 4’s side got moved over to 3’s side now I was confused and asked my mom about it which she got up and came out in a sort of anger manner (probably because our property was moved) confused my mom told me to just put them back and so I did and the next day rolled around and they got moved back now this time a note on the door ‘one of our kids has a bee allergy and we would love if you kept your plants off our side’ now I showed this to my mom who wasn’t pleased to here this. I wasn’t too sure why but we would of moved them away if they asked before hand but my mom told me to put them back. (For context the only plants I had that produced flowers was my mothers hibiskis tree and my pepper plant that was both on our side) so from there we would have a plant battle of where they went oh and the building owner said if they didn’t block they way to the doors it was fine. While that was happening their daughter around 5 maybe scribbled on my step fathers cooler with sharpie now this wouldn’t be much of a problem if it wasn’t made out of wood and it wasn’t even on the brick porch it was under a pitched up tent on our side infront of my mom’s friends apparent (number 2) nothing really came out of that. Next stop on this small list is their cat, they had a cat called sushi. Sushi was left outside all the time because they said ‘she keeps scratching at the door so much so if she wants out we let her’ now idk what it was like in there but if a cat wanted out and made no attempt to go back in side it was probably a bad family. After that they kind of layed low until fighting was herd from 4 (the building has thin walls) and cops where called now I don’t exactly remember what happened but i do remember how the wife and the wife’s friends were getting in the cops face as they talked soon the cops talked with the husband and he was a lot more calm my stepdad was talked to as well sence he called and was left with the keys of 4 for the time being as the wife and husband had to go to the station for something. After that they stayed quiet but the suddenly they left. Turns out they weren’t paying rent and kept saying they’ll have it next time but never did once the end of the month approached they left and left sushi as well. We never saw them aging and the the neighbor (next building one) took in sushi and that was the tail of my bad neighbors

I nope right on out.
In the US, one should never place mail in someone's mailbox. It's a federal felony to do so. Mail it to them instead.
If the cat stays, it has chosen a new home with these humans.
neighbor storry. yea the police wouldent care about a cut hose like that, if proof and for some reason tryed to sue in small claims the judge might have been angry for op for wasting the courts time to over 2 inches of a hose. if gone on to ops property and cut it to ribbons and had proof of who did it then maybe worth it but like op mentioned they had way to mutch going on with a dying family member to worry about something like that at all.
oh and cat naping part, op did all they could to find the owners. asked the rest of the neighbors, put up flyers in the area to see if someone was missing a pet, had it checked for microchips etc. no one come fort claiming the cat and if someone did own it in the neighborhood it was higely neglected
also the police advice to op of getting cameras was a good one for sure :)
Noooo! Don't let them start an HOA where u r. The stories....think of all the stories!!! Good luck man
I think it'd be awesome if an HOA forms but ripe refuses to join ah imagine the stories I bet the HOA would try to fine him for telling his stories here under some bull rule like "can't badmouth the HOA" but at least ripe would be well prepared & know to install cameras & get a lawyer on retainer
Nta. Do not let her move in.
Story 1: Who is going to pay to remove or fix the concrete-filled pool?
Hey tell her to look into getting a bigger house and tell your mom if shes so worried she can let them live with her once she moved in it'll be a up hill battle to get rid of her and the kids
THFT
Hawaii has the same problem as New Mexico on a regular basis. Some people are just idiots...
i just looked up if a pool devalues your home and it doesn't. in fact its the opposite it makes it more valuable, so that karan isnt only flat out wrong she is plain stupid.
Starting an HOA in your place?
Better keep a good watch on them.
Have a yearly election.
Have the funds under transparent scrutiny.
Bring media or cameras in if necessary
If they start making crazy rules and fines, gather the community to disband the HOA asap, or replace the board members.
how many times do I have to say it: criminals need to keep a low profile in order not to get discovered. if you're already doing tax fraud becoming a tyrant is the worst thing you can do!
Ripe, RB, and Disney!! 🌟⭐️⭐️🌟⭐️
Ripe; show your neighbours these stories to try and stop the HOA from taking form.
You got to know when to chose your battles
TFTH
They should have put Karen into chains and give her a pickaxe and start digging up the cemented pool. 😂😂😂
Edit: Also put a lifesize image of a security guard holding a shotgun near her.
😎👍
Big thumbs up for the channel...
Oh no. You know what an HOA is like. Oh no, nip that in the bud. Yikes!
You could have nipped the HOA president in the bud by telling her that everyone knows how and with whom she paid for her position...
Thailand? Dammit I would have guessed your accent a German one. And I am German. 😂. Anyway, you are amazing and I'm glad I found your channel! ❤
i would think she was requierd to pay close to 100k to op to if not more ofc it would depend on the sice of the pool but i would think the entire pool needed to be removed then rebuilt and its the potentialy damaged pipes to not to mention the damages to ops yard when it comes to removing the old pool and instaling a new one because it was filled with concrete and that would require some heavy machinery to remove. i would think she might have gothen a few months to couple of years in prison for destroying the pool to.
So the neighbors believed that OP was a cartel member, a group known for being violent organize crime, and decided to antagonize them?
That could have been very unwise.
Don't buy any property with Hoas! You won't have no rights ,nor you can lose your property. Stop Hoas !
part that gets me is how utterly mind mumbling quick the HOA went into hell, no one want to be president ok none
there must be X period that the person been IN the neighbourhood before able to seat on the board AND not top seat
Uhh 3cm would actually kill the grass, that’s far too short.
So they thought the neighbors were part of a cartel and decided to mess with them?
10/10 😂
The people in Story 2 didn'T steal the cat, they saved him.
Sure, sis, you and your kids can move in with me while doing me the favor of letting me stay here in my own house, because you deserve it. Not in this lifetime. Great stories, Ripe.

😄😁😆😅😂🤣
Great stories
Story 2: I Love the cat's name :D
Bet if OP in the "racist neighbor" story was told her neighbors were zombies she'd believe it.
3rd story: I missed coastal at first. Half moon bay? Fort Bragg? Mendocino?
The cops were right telling you to put the cameras on the house
TFTH
All entitled Karens/Kens need to get their eyes checked, their ears cleaned, and their heads examined!
If they mess withbthe mail or mailbox go to the post office. They have their own police for that. But it is possible the cops are just as racist as the neighbor's
♾🌟s and 😻🤗s for Ripe, JB and Disney!
I wonder if the OP in story 1 got his pool rebuilt?
Had a USPS employee stated I needed a custom form to send a package to Vermont.
@@lianabaddley8217 This was the Post Office in Issaquah, Washington. After I mentioned it was one of the original 13 states, her terminal "quit working."
@@jenningsrozzell7557 "Quit working" !! Lol That or, oops sorry I have to take my lunch now. You'll have to wait for the next clerk. SMH
Hmmm I wonder if I need to warn my sister in Texas about sending stuff to her daughter in Vermont. Now I'm wondering what actual Country they thought Vermont was. 😂 🤣
Question is if the pool was reinstated brand new before she went in, and also if OP got a finders fee from the IRS as well.
Never ever rent buy a property in a hoa
Because they are all power hungry Kevin's and Karen's
Third story: NTA. The "compromise" was that the sister gets the ownership of the house, and as OP said they said that as if they were doing her a favor. So don't even let them get in the yard and keep at hand the deed because they will probably try to forge a fake deed.
when a pet is taken from neglectful people, it's rescuing
Never let family move into your house.
Story 1:
*Play Stupid Games!! Win Stupid Prizes!!*
Thank goodness they saved the 🐈 cat.
Good afternoon 🙂
The "Mexican cartel" story sounds like the OP is the Karen based on how they talked about the people in the area and their arrogant tone.
Pretty Disney
This is one of those smh moments.
