  • After hours and hours of waiting on Tuesday, August 1, me and my good friend Lucas at White Oak Rail ( / @whiteoakrail ) finally got to see the ex-NS, new RJ Corman SD70M's lead on the Loup Creek Branch.
To start the day, a loaded eastbound coal train from Corbin, KY to Newport News, VA rolled through Thurmond, and then we drove up the Loup Creek Branch and run into RJ Corman bringing coal loads down from Pax to Thurmond. The CSX power was leading long hood forward this day.
RJ Corman tied down the train on the main as empties were awaiting them in Rush Run siding. Once crews got the clear to head up Loup Creek, they made their journey up with two CSX gevos and then stopped at the crew office in Harvey to put the SD70M's behind the CSX leaders. We caught them on Virginia Street in Mount Hope.
Our first giveaway winner is also revealed at the end of the video! So be sure to check out who won!
As always - THANK YOU ALL for watching and if there is any place you would like us to check out, let us know!

Saw a very similar movement today near Thurmond with the CSX GEs leading long hood forward and the SD-70Ms on the rear bringing loads down from Mount Hope
