Which was instantly proved beyond all doubt when Laura Worsham and Lisa O'Hare were eventually replaced by two heffers who I watched with horror as they dragged the show down into Hell.
Too bad you did not see the show. They were absolutely wonderful. This clip is from after very long tech rehearsal. Everyone was exhausted! Erin, Colleen, Blake and the rest of the cast were outstanding!!
i love this musical so much but... blake price is so bad as monty. he sounds so bored and he’s not expressive at all in his “yes wodsworth i told you ILL BE JUST A MOMENT!!!” there is no chemistry between him and any of the actors from what i’ve seen in the videos available. i can’t even imagine what ‘sibella’ is like; a song built entirely on chemistry between monty and sibella. he also forgot a line in this video and ugh it’s just so bad. james taylor odom, erin mcintyre, the girl who plays sibella (forgot her name :()and the ENSEMBLE is amazing!!
Laurie Freese I agree completely! I'm so glad Blake Price gave Monty his own interpretation rather then attempt to copy Bryce Pinkham. It would not have felt like an organic performance if he had. And I also have to say that what I saw and heard from Blake was not in the least rigid or rehearsed. Is he less colorful in his rendition then Bryce? Yes, but that doesn't mean it was dull. Same with Kevin Massey when he played Monty in the first North American National Tour. I think everybody in all of the casts have been wonderful thus far. :) I'd also like to point out that this video is an advertisement. Not an actual performance taking place. That means it's essentially a rehearsal being done on camera. And Blake did not forget any lines or miss any blocking/choreography when I saw him do a legit performance.
Am I the only one who is glad this cast is not trying to copy the original Broadway actors? Every actor and actress should embrace a character differently and let it filter through their being. Carbon copies never have any appeal as far as I am concerned.
The actors need to reserve their energy for an actual performance. Same with being cautious not to over-animate their voices. This is a dress rehearsal being done on camera. (Not to mention their rehersal process in general was much faster then your average) This was ahead of the show premiering for the second National Tour. Part of their advertisements. I now look back on this and wish the producers didn't make the actors do this onscreen. Since apparently so many people here are getting the wrong idea about the quality of the actors chosen for this tour. More than a shame since all of them are tremendous in their own right.
@@StarryKosmik I follow Erin McIntyre (playing Pheobe) on her social media. She tagged all the advertisments on her home page when they were in the rehearsal period. It's how I found this clip in the first place. Once the show actually premiered. From then on she was only allowed to link backstage pictures or sit down interviews. Nothing from the legit show could be featured anymore.
@@StarryKosmik Absolutely! I agree with everything you said there. They really should go back and re-label it. Though I'm surprised albeit grateful no one has called out Erin yet for her final note. She can hit far higher than what's composed for this score. Though because this was a rehearsal. She had to be careful not give out too much. Someone could easily misunderstand that she has a weak voice because of the footage here. When in reality she has a stunning soprano on the same level as Lauren Worsham.
People, this is the tour. They aren’t copies, and if they were we would be complaining about that. For instance: Scarlett strallen and Catherine walker who replaced Lauren and Lisa are GODDESSES. why would you compare to the OBC? It’s the OBC. They pave the way and everyone else does their own take. And that’s what I love.
Impossible to top Bryce, Lauren and Lisa!! Casting is everything and they were incomparible :)

Oh please bring this hysterical musical to my city! I would love to see this tremendous cast. :)
No offence to the actors but I dont feel any connection or energy from them, I feel like they could improve on that significantly

It seems so flat. The movements and the singing have no energy behind them
PRAYING for a revival after all this time 🛐
He was supposed to say phobe
Erin McIntyre is a vision!
La Bas-fond Welcome to the fan club my friend!!!! So thrilled to meet another fan of Erin's. Isn't she splendid?! :)
The guy who plays Monty is not good at doing it no offense
May Grim He even forgot a line 😕
I saw this production- he was actually excellent- maybe this was filmed before he had it all down exactly !
In my personal opinion, I preferred the overdramaticised Monty who is a bit comical with his actions and he’s just too still in doing it tbh

What's up with Sibella's wig? Her hair so clearly getting in the way and is a distraction from her great performance, I feel bad.
I understand that it shouldn't just be a carbon copy of the original but seriously this could have been so much better. There's just no energy!
Compared to the real thing, this is Ham Central. A cartoon version of the real thing. No thanks.
