Fans were expecting a bit more history wise. The visuals worked well and the monsters, specially the Pyramid, were very well done. That scene in the stairs of the church is still one of my favorites. Nobody expected that.
Pyramid head was performed wonderfully. You could see how powerful he was yet tortured and incredibly weighed down both by his head cage and monstrous sword. You could imagine him being a creature from hell (or dantes inferno) who maybe was a knight or swordsman who did awful things and was damned in this terrible way. Yet his evil and fire was so great that he struggles every inch to cause more pain and suffering.. Perhaps for eternity. The janitor also was an obscene thing of beauty.. A less powerful and more wretched sinner (perhaps?) who didn't deserve even to walk, just crawl bent and twisted in the dirt.. While pyramid killed with powerful blows.. The janitor attacked with fear, disgust and a kind of vile pestilence that spreads out of his body. This movie had some of the best monsters ever on screen IMO.
Oh yes, this was one of my favorite movies because they took so much time and dedication to imagine what a creature like this would be like, they had backstories and studied how a body like that would actually behave, it's really quite incredible, it makes the monsters actually seem alive. I feel like they gave a Star-Wars type of dedication to the monsters and the scenes.
This is awesome because those monsters were SO SCARY and it's really cool to see the whole creative process behind making them so strange and unsettling.

I believe the movie doesn't correlate the same way as the video game plot. The creatures don't necessarily have a link to Rose's psychological state other than her being trapped there. The dark half of Alessa says to her that she 'chose' meaning Sharron has the connection to Silent hill being Alessa's daughter. The muster of creatures are Alessa's, the grey children who bullied her, the janitor who raped her, executioner who punishes those who hurt her. It's a little different from the game.
Silent Hill movie is based on Silent Hill 1 which means the monsters are from Alessa's nightmares. So maybe armless guy is Alessa's fear of being trapped.
La pelicula me encantó, y el juego siempre me a gustado, pero me pareció estipido que coreografiaran a las enfermeras, cuando lo vi en el cine no pude evitar soltar una carcajada.
Cuando vi la película, el conserje hizo que me toteara de la risa. Al principio si era todo macabro con las piernas hacia atrás y todo, pero cuando sacaba la lengua se veía muy gracioso, los sonidos que hacia y el jugueteo con la boca me parecieron hilarantes, como si el actor estuviera improvisado muecas jajaj Habría preferido que el director le hubiera puesto una mascara, con los ojos reventados o algo así, para haber dado mas terror y asco.
+Lucy P la idea del "conserje monstruo" es que plasmara la imagen de lo que fue él en vida, recuerda que en la pelicula se insinúa que el violó a Alessa y esa imagen retorcida de el haciendo muecas y sacando su lengua la hicieron con la finalidad que se viera como un monstruo sádico :)
Es que para poder disfrutar las películas de Resident evil te toca verlas como un universo completamente diferente porque si te pones a comparar el juego con las películas siempre vas a decir que las películas son un asco.
