  • We have an anger problem. As followers of Jesus, how do we overcome the culture of contempt we live in?
    As we continue in our series, Passion City on the Hill, Pastor Ben brings us a convicting and practical word about dealing with anger and resentment.

    Like a sailor on turbulent seas, we need to look up and see the North Star: the fixed points in the sky whereby we might navigate the objective realities in life. We need the skill-set to know how to journey through life and how to select the right people to journey alongside. In this book we will chart a course through the four relational phases that the vast majority of human beings on the planet will pass through in their twenties: singleness, dating, engaged and married. In each of these phases, we will look at what eternal purposes should be pursued in each stage, and how to pursue them.
    SINGLENESS: DEVOTION
    DATING: EVALUATION
    ENGAGED: UNIFICATION
    MARRIED: MISSION

    It's difficult not to be angry when someone you love or care about does not validate your feelings or simple do not or even gets offended and insults you when you say how you feel. Or says, 'it's you're problem', 'if you want to keep making your life miserable, it's your problem'. I apologized for what I did wrong, but I'm still angry, very angry. And I pray with so much anger in my heart, and I tell the Lord how I feel everytime. But I just need to stop feeling angry, it's making me sick

      I was angry a lot in my life, my parents split up when I was 6 . . . and I'm still battling with anger now and then but, it is a working process through the grace of God. Just stand strong, you got this... forget anything that would heat you up and pray.. focus on Jesus :)

    I wish there is someone from the asian community to talk about being aplogizing here. Because it is really a taboo topic in our culture. I remembered saying sorry to my mom and she still pressures the blame on me and I felt more terrible of myself. But it is right to be forgiving or sorry so that we can let loose the grudge once and for all. But it's hard when this kind of culture is strong here. Usually they just get us out to eat and hope that we're good.

    Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
    Malachi 2:6
    The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
    John 8:32
    And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
    John Chapter 10
    27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
    28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
    29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
    Romans 11:26
    And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
    Ephesians Chapter 4
    22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
    23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
    24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
    Philippians 2:12
    Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
    Philippians 4:8
    Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

    2 Peter Chapter 1
    5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
    6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
    7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
    1 John 2:5
    But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
    Revelation Chapter 3
    7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
    8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
    9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
    10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
