hey , I have found out something very frustrating this evening that maybe you can help me with, I have only 41h on MK1, I wish so much to main Liu Kang and this evening I am so frustrated, so 1. I don't understand how am I not converting a F43 full hit, I hit them with F43 and then when I try to start the B23 B23 333 combo they just simply block it, my first hit, so I can't even start it, and 2. what is the timing on the grab and kung lao teleport I need to hit, maybe you can tell me when in the animation I need to hit teleport because the same they just get up in time, and block.
Really appreciated the comment about dropping a kick from the combo to make it easier. That's what I think these guides need more of. Lots of people won't be able to get the longer and more timing/execution intense combos, so giving the advice on where you can afford to drop damage in favour of ease is really, really important.
There is nothing execution-intense about the combos shown. If you're actually struggling with such simple combos it means you've never probably played a fighting game and labbing such combos will help you improve your execution quite a bit. Just don't overdo it.
the point they are trying to make is to start somewhere. I wish more people said stuff like this, sure its better to go for the more execute heavy stuff to better train your hand eye coordination but alot of people especially casual players may not care so much to be optimal but more so favoring fun and at the most being able to win a few matches with their buddies. nothing wrong with being casual or execution heavy merely a preference depending on your situation.@@SlCKNESS_

Trying to simplify a BnB is not a good practice, it just reduces your reward for actually landing combo starters. I don't think I'm expressing the important distinction between what you're saying and what I'm saying very well, but it is what it is.

Frost is a petty decent one for liu as well, she adds a low to his forward 3 4 keeps the opponent guessing if your gonna pop her kameo or not, if it hits you can easily combo off the freeze
Awesome! As a new competitive Mk player who loves Liu Kang always has and I think he’s at his most badass in this game and I hear he’s a really good pick for new/beginner competitive MK Players like myself, I’m so ready to learn him and I may use Kung Lao as a cameo.

Scorpion and Jax are both really good for maximizing damage as well. And Cyrax let’s you do some flashy air combos in the corner. Other than that, I hope they give Liu a little more range and/or a low starter (B34 from mk11 comes to mind). I’m just all about variety and feel like they pigeon hole you with Liu a bit. Would like to see more air routes, as well, considering it’s a big returning feature. Wouldn’t mind seeing him get an air bounce.
Liu's down back 4 is actually a really good ender instead of back forward 3 as it allows you to meaty mid screen just in case anyone was wondering. Very underlooked
is there any way to learn in game what moves are an armor-break? I didn't even know that was a thing. also, his teleport special move has invincibility, I was hoping you'd go into that. seems like some fun possibilities
im curious, is there a reason you didnt show yourself doing bf3mb after the throw? i can only think maybe the throw scales it funny so its not really worth the meter
So for the first two BNBs, whenever I try to do B23 after bf3MB, it always whiffs because I'm too far from my opponent after doing the bf3MB to connect B23. I feel they work better as corner combos than midscreen combos.
Lui kang has always dashes incorporated into his combos. It does work, but you have to dash then do the b23, then dash again for the 333bf3. You will get used to sneaking in dashes and movement with him.

Its not dash then b24, its b24 DURING the dash. So your essentially cancelling your dashes with moves. Liu kang has always had a lot of these, you will learn to sneak in these ‘half dashes’ in combos, just tighten up your imputs.

You can buffer the dash. So when the move beforehand appears, eneter your dash and as soon as you character is available to move, they ahould dash. Another thing thats slightly related, turn on delay in practice. It'll simulate playing online and should help you be more consistent in not dropping your combo.

I can’t get the enhanced dragon tail to come out consistently over 333 or f43. Any tips anyone? I can do the regular one easily. It’s like the timing changes when you try to enhance it. Any thoughts anyone?
Not sure if you figured this out or not, but what I recommend, is only use 3 once instead of 333 until yhe very end With my kombo testing I figured B23, B23, 3, BF3Amp, 3, BF3Amp, 333 into BF3 is far easier yo do especially in corner. Plus by doing B23, B23, 3, you can combo that into a FB, and far easier than B23, B23, 333 can
Meter burn. Stronger version of special moves. Sometimes it changes the property of the move. So for Liu, hes BF3 is a flying dragon kick. If you amp it, or "meter burn" it launches them ro continue a combo.
thank you for the tutorial, but it's kind of impossible to make a hit after BF3MB even with the dash. an enemy drops faster than he gets the hit. is there any secret there?
I struggle with this too but honestly I think the secret lies within the timing of the dash you have to like execute the dash as lui Kang is performing bf3mb. You almost have to be faster than the input is being relayed. It’s kind of difficult but you keep practicing I promise you can do it.
Also after u dash go straight into the b24 and u don’t need dash at the end just walk forward delay till opp is right above u and then finish with. 333bf3
I was hoping this was going to be a good video, but for your followers who are blind, it is not. He says do this, do that or like this or like that, and it’s pretty useless for people who can’t actually see the screen. And the whole combo section is useless for your blind followers who can’t see what he’s pressing on the screen since he doesn’t actually say what he’s doing.

I would also add some more damage, double health and no juggling gravity just to make it fair

In general it’s moves that hit multiple times quickly, I haven’t seen if they’re labeled but I also haven’t looked

I put up a 48% damage solo corner combo for him that only takes one bar, two bars gets you over 50%
