As an Aberdeen man, these guys are just up the road from me and I have nothing but the upmost respect for these brave guys. The North Sea is no joke. It is one of the most dangerous seas in the world. You last 2 minutes in that water without a survival suit on. And maybe an hour or two with one on. The seas can change at the drop of a hat and be 10m to 20m high waves. Brave men indeed. 🙏
Before Covid in Rhode Island I was making 3 to 6 thousand for a 6 day trip.Fishing for squid.Seems to me if the boat takes half ,these guys aren’t making much more then 1,000 dollars for 10 ish days in horrible weather.Crazy how badly the government has messed up the industry.And the boat gets tied up for 50% of the year?Mcdonalds will pay you 15 dollars an hour with all the overtime you can handle.
