There's no comparison between IAS and other Grade A civil services let alone private sector. I respect everyone's choice but let's get real. Beyond a point it's beyond money and power. That's where Armed forces and Civil services come in and in this there is nothing more dynamic than IAS. They run a country of a billion+ and its every mechanism that should sum it up.
Keep your opinion to urself.
If u really think ias runs the country, i am really impressed with ur knowledge of reality👏👏👏

Very debatable. I feel a bureaucrat is so engaged in the daily grind of policy implementation and the dictat of higher ups, that to change anything he has to really go out of his way. That level of motivation to bring change against the will of your superiors and working at a payscale much less than private sector, is very rare.

The question shouldn't be who is earning more, as a NASA scientist in America or a government scientist at CERN will never earn a million $ a month or even a year and their wealth won't be comparable to that of a business manager or CEO of a mid-size multi-million firm. the question should be who has more power and opportunity to change human life by their understanding of political, economic, and social information they acquire during their preparation.
True
Well said.
I agree with your point completely.
And now there arises another question that is - why those who contribute to humanity/ human life like Scientists and Socio Economic workers are paid less when they clearly deserve more.
Intact these should be some highest paying jobs.
@@ACE-uo2mn cause of capitalism, private firms increases their productivity from overwork underpaid workers, labor exploitation, tax evasion, market manipulation, and lobbing the democratic government laws for maintaining their own monopolies over the market and destroying actual potential competition early on.
Most innovations and inventions were done by government scientists all over the world, from computers to microchips to touch screens and so ON AND on with public/taxpayer money, and most of these were in the socialist era but In today's imperialist society, once one figure out the solution to the masses' misery and the way to monetize it. we as a society make them invincible lords, "innovators" and even some are self-proclaimed scientists calling themself, entrepreneurs of a new age.
Capitalists don't acknowledge the privileges they were in and I refuse to acknowledge their "so-called risk for reward narrative" too. Capitalist media manipulation had made sure that exploitation by these corporates goes unchecked, no matter what the public interest is will only churn for-profit weather that costs social dismay they won't care, cause after all they can control the narrative.

With my experience, if a middle class student wants to become an IAS officer . First he should earn money by working in corporate sector. If he feels everything okay in terms of money. Then go and prepare for civil services.
As a middle class boy. I started my preparation in college days and still not get into the rank, surviving without money in hands is highly challenging. So, don't do mistake that I did.
If your parents well settled then go for preparation after graduation itself.

Very true. The syllabus and exam is so archaic that if one fails and invests in a few years, he/she becomes worthless in the job market.

Real rulers of the society are undiscoverable...~laski.
Power is a Myth.
Everyone is subjugated by other...no need to feel Awe!
I think Top Services in UPSC CSE(IAS,IPS,IFS) is any day better than any other job in India, There are few reasons for that-
1. Diversity of work
2. Direct Impact on masses
3. Work life balance
4. Financial stability, if you want to earn in crore there is also path in that.
5. Social status
6. Power to create impact
7. Range of people with one you are working, one day you are working with 'Top Intellectual' of the specific domain another some day you are working with 'Under privileged' section of a society.
I think that gives more satisfaction to someone else. But no one have to forget that probability to get in Civil Services is very low, so always have PlanB, that's the pragmatic approach.
Nothing is better than a public servant.
But have a good plan B before running behind that.
Well how'd a civil servant earn in crores tho?

The middle class is so generalised nowadays that everyone except Ambani and Adani is middle class. There should be a subdivision of the middle class like the lower middle class, the middle middle class and the upper middle class.

What a power couple. 💕
Great content, very informative.
IAS is not a job; It is a service.
That is why people quit big investment banking jobs to pursue civil service.
I've never heard anyone going from investment banking to IAS
Also people quit UPSC preparation to pursue investment banking because you learn your calling eventually
You both make sense.

Definitely no need to debate IAS is IAS.....
Ias is boss of himself, not slaver of corporates
But a slaver of politicians.
You got idea how politicians handle IAS officers?
Your voice is very clear and crunchy, what is secret behind this 😅 my pitch is good but voice sounds very unfiltered which affect the quality of communication

scientists gets no.1 position , they need to study 35 years just to get postdoctoral experience(PhD, postdoctoral) and forevery One publication in top journals they get good pay you let's say 2.5k dollars , if it has high impact factor then one publication pays 3.5k USD .
But the amount of dedication is mind boggling can just become GM in some company and earn equivalent and try jobs abroad which would pay 100k and upwards
Really well crafted video

Someone who funds the political party is more powerful than the person who has won the public mandate.
🤫
That's a secret that no one wants to talk including these people.
There should be no comparison to any corporate job with the prestigious charm of IAS, it gives more power to bring change to citizens of the country. These management jobs are self-oriented and money-making jobs. People switch to these jobs only when they couldn't get into government jobs just to survive and earn their livelihood. Group A & Group B government jobs in PSUs, offer the highest package equivalent to their counterparts in the Pvt sector. Also, the Pvt sector has ZERO job security, laying off and reducing the salary, and a toxic environment, which are quite normal in corporate jobs. Any time, one should study diligently and smartly to get into the elite services of IAS/IFS/IRS/IPS
Ur views r to the point n very true
Thanks,@@mayankmishra1615
Civil service is also toxic in the sense that you have to work according to the whims and fancies of politicians. They have little or no power on their own.
Police and government service sucks big time
That's your view
IAS actually sucks for a moral person
The amount of corruption that he has to see in his workplace

Mam just one question.
I want to leave civil & study MBA in the US.
Will I be able to land a job in the US (IN THE NON CIVIL FIELD)?
Or is it not a good career move altogether?
Will I struggle to find jobs?
It is a good career move provided you keep moving and you keep yourself motivated. 👍

The dark side of this comparison is that people compare it with top tier people (0.1%) of that field , I mean if You did MBA or started a startup that doesn't mean you will become Jeff Bezos , Elon Musk or Ambani or Adani , there are many MBA graduate who doesn't get good post/position that they have imagined and their are many startup that failed/bankrupt even if they had good ideas, so we should count them too !

The man with money is most powerful.
In my perspective if we look on the the society IAS has the more power in every aspect of field . you can examine the power of an IAS officer when a minister come to a particular are he had to take permission from by IAS of that area while in the case of private sector organization the big hunk like Jeff Bezos ,elon ,ambani have the power in upper level or mainly you can say they have the power of Monopoly .......

SO WHAT I CHOOSE
1. GIVING JEE IN 2023
2. GIVING CUET FOR CENTRAL UNIVERSITY
3. GIVING JEE IN 2024 IN DROP YEAR FOR BETTER RESULTS
4. COMMENT UR THOUGHTS
First of all, it should always be your choice. I am just trying to be logical and practical.
1) Situational Analysis - Figure out things like your family condition, finances, your skills etc
2) Safer option - You'll need an undergrad degree for showing up for UPSC. JEE can give give your life a little stability. UPSC can be done during or after grads.
3) If you really want to prepare for UPSC,then before giving any penny to anyone or any coaching institute do your own UPSC centric self study.
Hope it helps

I think the most powerful are the conglomerates like Google, Facebook, Amazon and Tata. The people heading these organisations also weird immense power.

The decisions taken by these MNCs alter the world for better or worse.
