Opponent: Why did you play that move?
Me: I wanted to give Remote Chess Academy more content
Gotham always says stop giving useless checks as in the endgame it usually just helps to bring the opponent's king forward 😂
For the puzzle of the day, the correct option is Nxe5. If Bxd1, Bxf7+, Ke7 only move, and Nd5#. So Black's best move is Dxe5, Qxh5 and black is just lost with many threats. Just got this position yesterday and my opponent went greedy and took my queen.
My answer to the final quiz would be Nxe5 if white takes back, we can just take back their bishop and wining a pawn, if they get greedy and take the queen, it will be mate with Bf7+ Ke7 and Nd5#. That’s what I found
agreed, they win the queen but you win the game! awesome strategy
Yea its the legal trap
Legals mate
And how do you plan to move Knight from e5 to d5 in 1 move?
@@matejamusa9295 bro u hav two knights 😭💔
Great stuff as always
I do all of these bad habits sometimes. A good lesson. Thanks mate 👍
I'd been doing the c5 move as black for quite some time. Thanks!
For the puzzle there’s Legal mate available. If black stop it he lose a pawn for free. I’m not sure I’d play Nc3 in the move before tho. I’ll probably play c3 giving my bishop escape square (in case black plays Na5 targeting it) and that also prevents Nd4. I might want to manuaver queen knight to g3 through d2 since my pawn chain points to the king side so I don’t mind the pawn occupying c3. Not confidence about my choice tho. I never played this line before so I’m not sure how to navigate. Stockfish says a4 (instead of Nc3 or c3) which just looks insane to me.
Ikr, sometimes stockfish did that😂
i have done and done and done each and all of these mistakes. they're obvious. they're stupid. they're easy enough to NOT do, and in the opening phase you nearly always have better candidate moves if you just think about it for a minute.
so how come i've been doing them and doing them for 20 years? well, there's stupidity, sloth and indifference, but i prefer to think i just didn't know the principles behind WHY they don't work. now i know. i'll never do them again.
right.
😂
I havent watched everything yet but i know the content Will be amazing ,so i alr liked lol,i love your work
Hahaha, "One superhero to defeat a whole army of bad guys" That line cracked me up 1:25
2:48 rather than 4. d3, white has the option of playing 4. Qh5, which is actually Stockfish’s favorite option. f4 can come at a later time, and white reserves the ability to play d4 in one go if the opportunity arises.
Nice video. In quiz, I see Legal trap mating net. Speaking about 3rd worst plan 1st example, I encoutering a lot of Philidor defense players, who after exchanging center pawns attack knight with c5, creating a big hole in d5, jokingly I calld it "ultra wrong variation" :D . Btw It would be nice to see Philidor defense video for beginners, general plans, how to play it correctly and what to avoid to do.
"ultra wrong." i like that.
Isnt it a mistake to play the philidor in the first place? I mean i love the pirc defense, but i think it was tarrasch who said that playing it is a mistake
A "one mover" can apply to any piece. But, of course, there are exceptions. A one mover, even with a pawn, may get more than it gives. It may place an enemy piece on a less active square, for example, which compensates for a lack of follow up to the "one mover'.
very helpful!
For the puzzle
Nxe4. If Bxd1, then Bxf7+ Ke7 Nd5+ is Mate.
In any other lines we win at least one pawn.
Legal trap? Cool
"Actually its nxe5" 🤓
@@joustmaster_69 Thank you. I didn't notice that.
@@pronoob7296 np
It doesn't work.. first you need to play nc3
I am 60 and quite a sceptical guy. But I love your videos, you always keep it interesting and with a bit of humor too. I could use a bit more challenge though, from time to time, like your "determine your rating" puzzles that were quite deep. I actually consider trying/buying a course, never thought I'd say that but somehow I believe in you and I have spent 100$ in worse places than this ;-) Keep it going and all the best, Bas
Ya it's been a while since the last "determine your rating" video.
Do it. I bought a class on a sale for $50 and it was well worth it.
At 6:52, you mention that c5 move in the scotch being terrible, and i remember playing that when i was around 800 and i remember having a feeling that the move c5 just didnt feel right.
interesting.
Very educative video :)
Thank you 🤗
Hi Igor Sir. Just wanted to tell you that your videos to help me and many thousands like me improve our game. We owe a lot to you sir. Also, I would like to request you to make a video on how to attack the castled king early, without damaging our position much. I remember in one of my otb games, my opponent castled early and I decided to launch a deadly king side attack by pushing all the three pawns, but it turned out to be lethal for me. If you would permit I can share the game. It would be extremely helpful if you will make a video on that topic of attacking the castled king.
Regards
True. Even I have faced problems with that. Let's hope Igor covers it in one of his videos
Yet another superb video from Igor. ❤
❤
Super Hero Lesson? 😂😂😂
Knite g5, if bxq then bxf7+ , if ke7 then knite b3 d5+
Knight takes pawn on e5. Then after black bishop takes white queen white bishop on c4 gives check on f7 then after black king moves to e7 then white knight moves to d5 and checkmate
Ne5 Bd1, Bf7 Ke7, Nd5 the puzzle
Best teacher
Gm Igor Smirnov is the best teacher i have ever had in my little life!
😍
Simply BxF7+, KxB, NG5+, followed by QxB and QF7 mate.
Black could go BxF7

1.Nxe5 …Bxd1 2.Bxf7 …Ke7 3. Nd5 mate
Where does everyone come up with the Nd5# move? There is no knight on c3 in the position???
There is
Puzzle: Nxe5. The "Oh no, my Queen" attack
That's going to be a spectacular failure, since it also needs your other knight at c3. Your attack would have been possible in case black had a pawn on e7
Knight takes e5 if bishop takes white q it leads to forces mate. Ne5 bd1, bf7 ke7, bg5 nf6, nd5 is mate.
Of course if black captures ne5 instead of queen, white queen take bishop on h5 and be up material and can win.
Correction, after ke7 white can just knoght d5 and mate no need for bishop g5 since it covers the f6 square as well.
Puzzle Nxe5 Bxd1 Bxf7+ Ke7 Nd5# and its mate for white after sacrificing the queeeeeen😇
In another video you talked about making threats and always putting your opponent under pressure till they make a mistake. How do you balance that with this video where you don't fall into doing super hero attacks that lead nowhere?
Calculate a bit. If you see the threat isn't going anywhere, don't play it. You're better of developing or activating your pieces.
Very good name for the dumb thing I've keep doing since the day I started playing! The Superhero Attack! The Leroy Jenkins Attack! I'm not castled, everybody's still on the back rank, and then Nf7.
legend
На пазле мат Легаля.
А можешь пожалуйста разобрать паттерны которые могут привести к мату Легаля? Потому что вот так во время игры его не заметишь без подсказок, голова другим занята
For the puzzle at the end, the move I'll play is probably Be3 to get ready to castle queenside in case black decides to capture the f3 knight to open kingside
It’s a puzzle. That means there’s a tactic. The correct move is Nxe5.
@@Fishy_17 Oh, yes, I see it. By sacrificing the queen to play Bxf7+, the black is forced to play Ke7, and white can finish with Bg7#
@@user-ej7sr3ow8b Not Bg7 (illegal), but Nd5.
@@user-ej7sr3ow8b Bg7?!? MAybe Nd5#?
Ng5 sacrifice the queen
Then Bf7 ..... and after that Nd5 #
End games are for closers.
14:50 The solution of the puzzle is to sacrifice the queen by playing Nxe5. If black accepts your "free queen", you strike back with Bxf7+ Ke7 and Nd5#. If Black plays dxe5, you can just play Qxh5, threatening mate on f7 so black can't take c2 pawn and lastly if black plays Bg6, you can just trade a knight for a bishop and just cleanly up a pawn.
Wicked!
Nd5# is not correct
@@kitanko1Nxe5 sir
Finish with Nd5 mate
For the puzzle, Nd2 probably ( Kasparov Style )
of course Nbd2
No, knight takes E5
@@thenewacc9535 1) Nxe5 Bxd1 2)Bxf7 + Ke7 3)Bg5 and Nf6 blocks any threats i guess
for puzzle Nxe5 then if he takes knight we take bishop and if he takes queen then Bxf7+ Ke7 and Nd5#
what if Qh4 after Nxe5
@@dimaza433 we trade queens we play g3
It will n😊ot be checkmate.. check your move order by
Bxf7? Kxf7 and white loses
Now this is actually not mate.
F7 is defended by bishop after pawn takes knight, so bxf7 would not work, furthermore, you lose an important knight pulling the legal trap checkmate.
Correct move order is Queen takes Bishop, if g6 its like wayward queen attaack tactic, taking pawn in the centre followed by taking the rook on h8.
I love how everyone learned a trick called 'legal mate' and think they can magically make a knight appear on c3 so it can move to d5 and mate... 🤦 Igor, can you give us the answers to your puzzles, please?
Bf7+, Kxf7, Ng5+ then after the king moves, take the hanging bishop with your queen
Lol after Bxf7+, Black will follow up with Bxf7. Attack finished
He would just Qxg5 and you are down a piece. Because bishop you cannot take and if you take queen, he would take your queen as well. This is very common situation, need to pay attention to that...
After Bxf7+ black can take that B with his B
@@alaska_uk1303 also... Probably even better
and after your Queen takes their Bishop the black Knight from d4 takes the pawn from c2 forking the King and the rook and after the King moves Knight gaining the rook... :P Not so good idea...
Nxe5
G4 seems the only move
After black plays C6 to D4, white wins the Bishop or Mates Black after NxE5...
I don't understand these people who have Ne5 followed by Nd5. How does the Knight move there?
Stockfish says a3. My intuition is Bb5 and pin the knight.
Nevermind. That was the round of moves before.
The N can't get to d5 in all those puzzle answers
Igor, isn't the best move g4? I think Nxe5 is a good move but not the best, because the variation after opponent plays Qh4, its a bit hard with comments saying "trade queens then g3", but its a horrible variation as your knight is hanging. Obviously Nf3 is the best move. But why not g4?
For the puzzle: Nxe5 Bxd1, Bxf7+ Ke7, Bg5+ Kgf6 stops the mate by blocking the Bishop as the @dogardaniel9882 says and then Knight from c3 goes to Nd5#
Black knight from G8 will stop the mate. Better to jump with the other knight on D5 for mate
So funny story, I setup the position using the engine and the engine says that g4 is the best move, which is exactly the move Igor is saying is wrong. So confused! Haha!
Nxe5 BxQ Bxf7+Ke2Nd5#
the quiz answer should be:
1. N*e5!!
if 1. ... B*d1?? then 2. B*f7+ Ke7 3. Nd5# white win
if 1. ... d*e5 then 2. Q*h5 and white is cleanly one pawn up
the best way for black is 1. ... Qh4, then 2. Nf3 N*f3 3. g*f3. Although white's king side is a little bit weak it's still one pawn up
Nice haircut Igor 🙂!
for the puzzle : pawn g4
14:12 I thought you were german, lol. Quite foolish of me considering that Igor is obviously a Russian name.
Pg4
Bishop sac on f7. After king takes back check with knight after king moves pick up bishop on h5
Problem with this is black can take back with their bishop, they don't have to capture back with the king
