It’s one of my dreams to import some rajapalayam into the uk to produce. They are so beautiful And have great history and that beautiful colour like a crew lol horse. If they had more exposure I know a lot of people would fall in love
A lot more native dog breeds as well as heritage livestock breeds are disappearing. It's awful because not only are they amazing animals but they're also living breathing history .
If you do another one of these videos in the future I’d love to see the Korean Jindo make the list. They are beautiful and extremely loyal dogs and considered a national treasure of Korea. When I lived in Korea I went to a festival on Jindo island where these dogs originate and watched an agility show they had to showcase the dogs and I’ve held a deep appreciation for them ever since, especially after learning their history as one of the few native Korean dog breeds to survive the Japanese occupation in 1910. They are a highly protected breed and I’d love to see them get the appreciation they so rightly deserve.
Anyone else notice how sometimes when she's explaining about animals her voice gets this cadence and tone that makes it sound like a professional documentary narrator.
I grew up on the Philadelphia Main Line and Sealyhams were around; we had wire fox terriers that used to be common. The Skye Terriers (with black ears), the Dandee Dinmont and the Bedlington I believe are very unusual in the US currently.

I'm a big dog nerd and I love learning more about them, especially discovering new breeds I can fall in love with! I also have a Basset Hound but they're definitely not a rare or unknown breed, he's my stumpy friend and he takes care of me when my mental health is bad. Over all though I just love dogs with nice floppy ears I can stroke, though pointy ears are fun too! Who am I kidding, I just love dogs. Oh! There's also the Dunker hound! They're very cute and I would love one! Anyway, thank you for this video, it was really interesting getting more information on some of these breeds I'd heard of but didn't know a great deal about, thank you very much.
I really like the Kuvasz but I've only ever seen them at dog shows. They look like a really big Golden Retriever, but couldn't be more different in terms of their guarding abilities. All of their owners will tell you what a great dog they are to own but only in the hands of an experienced owner.

I'd like to point out the Utonagan and Northern Inuit are not recgonised by any major kennel club, most do not consider it to be a breed as of yet. It will however be interesting to follow the development of both and whether they will be eventually recognised.

Amazing video Em! I learned a ton! The kooikerhondje reminds me a teeny tiny bit of our Czech Spotted Dog. We have one and its temper feels kinda similar.
My parents have a Formosan Mountain dog (or Taiwan dog) they rescued. She is very fascinating, she has many differences from most domestic breeds including very thick but strangely soft paw pads (used to help navigate mountain terrain in Taiwan)
My backyard neighbor has an American Alsatian and they also are meant to look like the direwolfs from game of thrones without any wolf like tendencies. She’s so sweet and funny. My Bernese mountain dog is in love with her.
I'm from Hungary and I was surprised to see pumi on the list 😄 I would really recommend Hungarian dog breeds, they have very few health issues, they are cheap and most breeders aren't scammers or work for a puppy mill. Most Hungarian dog breeds are meant for sheep herding but there are hunting breeds such as the vizsla 😊 (I have a vizsla-lab mix and she is an angel, the breed is often used to search for expensive mushrooms. They are also very good runners and great with other pets and children).
Me: I already know all the dog breeds. There's nothing that can surprise me! Me by the end of the video: I didn't know a single one- I'll admit it Em, you taught 10 new dog breeds
Just a little correction, the Tamaskan actually has wolf content. Some of the foundation dogs for the breed were husky/Wolfdog crosses from Finland. :)
Em your videos always bring a smile to my face thank you so much for being so ... Amazing and just being yourself. Also Kiba is so adorable Can we see more of him in your videos?

I was gonna say that but I figured I'd look at the comments first
My parents have a Formosan Mountain dog (or Taiwan dog) they rescued. She is very fascinating, she has many differences from most domestic breeds including very thick but strangely soft paw pads (used to help navigate mountain terrain in Taiwan)
I used to have a Kooikerhond!! But i'm Dutch so i guess there's that.
Great video
Would you consider Catahoula Leopards rare? I have one and she is such a sweet girl :)
They are very popular in the south but aren’t common everywhere
They're starting to pop up everywhere. Especially since people are mix breeding them for the coat colors. They're in shelters all the time down here
I haven't heard of most of these dog breeds, I really enjoyed this video!
My backyard neighbor has an American Alsatian and they also are meant to look like the direwolfs from game of thrones without any wolf like tendencies. She’s so sweet and funny. My Bernese mountain dog is in love with her.
I just love your voice!! ☺️
I was playing among us but I clicked as soon as I saw the notification!
I am not worthy!! 😭😭😭
Vizslas are really nice for anyone looking for an active velcro dog. Doesn't hurt that they are stunningly beautiful:
Me: I already know all the dog breeds. There's nothing that can surprise me!
Me by the end of the video: I didn't know a single one-
I'll admit it Em, you taught 10 new dog breeds
NO WAY! I’m so pleased!! 🥳❤️🙏🏻 thanks for letting me know!!
I knew a couple
I LOVED this video!!!!!
I have never heard of any of these dag breeds they are all so fascinating.
Wowowow, I did NOT expect to see Em talking about Kai Ken, this is awesome! Thank you for showing our beautiful breed, they are such special dogs.
The Utonagan looks exactly like a Tamaskan both have the same goal of looking like a wolf with no wolf in it
Just a little correction, the Tamaskan actually has wolf content. Some of the foundation dogs for the breed were husky/Wolfdog crosses from Finland. :)
Em your videos always bring a smile to my face thank you so much for being so ... Amazing and just being yourself.
Also Kiba is so adorable Can we see more of him in your videos?
Im Hungarian and the reason we call a multiple pumis pumik is because we say a k at the end other than s
It’s the same with a lot of Hungarian breeds ive noticed
Same as for Pulik

Very interesting video! Thank you for teaching us new dog breeds we haven't heard of before :) I have never heard of those dog breeds, except the Italian one.
And you had so much information about each dog breed. I learned a lot by watching your video. Thank you
