These music and videos are as undemanding as the listener/viewer wants them to be. i presumptuously hope that if someone pays attention to the music/videos they’ll get something out of them, and i also hope that if someone just has the music/video playing quietly in the background that it will help create a feeling of calm and peace. - moby

these recordings were made at home during the first few months of the pandemic. i only gave myself three rules/guidelines when creating these pieces;
1. they had to be strictly improvised. nothing was written or rehearsed beforehand, everything was recorded as it was being played for the first time.
2. i wasn’t allowed to go back and change or edit any of the improvised performances.
3. every part of the process, from recording to mixing to listening, had to be calming.
Just focused in the present moment. Thanks for sharing.

Hot music, strong, is nice, if it is good, but the worst is to try to 'occult' soul and true (Wich is very very dark now on all planet), with high and strong level. No, dark time need a mind and a soul not hipped artificially. Tis really get at te end wit suicide, because is not on this road where the true goes. Look at the dark, in low profile. Learn from the 'toreros' of Spain, they confront an enormous animal, 600 Kg, full of energy and able to kill them on seconds........... The torero, stay calmed, and concentrated.
Today, July forth of 2024 I had my first vegan lunch: raw carrots, raw oats and honey and black coffee to drink... Is the beginning of my new life... And in the afternoon... When I was having my first salad of tomato, lettuce, carrots and lemon juice with salt, I heard this beautiful music, relaxing, as a one expression of my actual mental state... Thank you Moby for give to us this beautiful moment...
Who can ever truly know someone from afar, but I truly think that Moby is genuinely working to heal us with his music.

This whole session was the soundtrack of my first child being born 2 weeks ago. I played it on the speaker in the delivery room when mother started to have longer contractions. He started to show his head progressively. Arriving to the world with this music was maybe a welcome bit of the beauty there is in this world.. .Thank you Moby!

If today's "music" can be called music. It's a shame now everybody can make music and go famous just because it has to be, the true musicians are gone. I love ambient music and finding Moby creating this amazing masterpiece renews my faith a little bit, not everything is lost at the end.

I didn’t know Moby can write/play ambient music like that. It’s amazing...
You do not know it. Since year 2000 I listened him, I know He can. It is inside him.
Moby has released a few ambient albums in the past. "Ambient" from 1993; "Little Idiot", a companion album to Animal Rights in 1996; "Hotel" bonus CD in 2005; "Long Ambients 1: Calm. Sleep" in 2016. So quite a long track record :)

I had this playing on a loop last night in my sea bungalow on an island in Thailand. I had tons of vivid dreams (I don't usually dream that often). Hard to believe that this was all improvised. It shows the beauty of creating in the NOW.

If you want some seriously deep and meditative ambience, perfect for sleeping, I highly recommend the music of Klaus Wiese, Mathias Grassow, Oöphoi, Vir Unis, Numina and Steve Roach. Seriously, check 'em out, especially Klaus Wiese , Vir Unis and Oöphoi, those 3 are my personal favourites.. try searching for Vir Unis' album "The Drift Inside" for a blissful cosmic journey into miasmatic dreamworlds... xD

You've never been there, probably you have not even noticed it, but you've been with me all my life! In the last few decades, many of your songs have been firmly linked to memories in my life. It's almost as if you had known from the beginning that I would need this or that song at some point in my life and therefore recorded it for me as a precaution. The hallmark of great ambient music is in its ability to be listened to almost infinitely. Much ambient music is predictably repetitive and so becomes annoying, intruding into the moment. To create music that is of the moment, elides with it, and so is always present, is to find a form of genius. Thank you Moby for you musical vision and virtuosity - so beautiful!
