I’m moving to Munich next week to start a PhD in LMU. The roller coaster between excitement and fear is killing me 🤣
Ahaha relatable. You got this🙌🙌
Its about a month passed. How much money did you spend in Munich in this month? (I knoe that sometimes PhD gives grants or scholarships), but I mean net cost of living there.
Thanks)
Much needed breakdown... Thanks for that !
Glad you liked it!
Dud taking it to the detail!! Love it
Of course! :p trying to be accurate :)
Great video, thank you!
Appreciate it! :)
Great video, I'll be in Munich soon!
Awesome!

....
Lots of respect bro
Really appreciate it. Doing it for comments like this :) this makes my day
Need a separate video on Activities. Like where and how to find them? And if they have any sort of subscription model. Thanks for the videos.
what kind of activities do you mean? Like bars, sports events, etc.? :)
I loved how the video is detailed! I would like to ask about your scholarship, how did get it? And what do you think that increased your acceptance chance? Do you study engineering?
So if you do some extracurricular activities this will always help :)
It is not only about good grades and there are tons of different scholarships put there. Applying to several ones is always a good idea. There are Websites that list all the scholarships. Just look for "scholarship databases" or "Stipendien Datenbank" and you can set Filters to find some that make the best fit for you
Hii Markus, thanks for the video 😊I will study at TUM this semester and I would like to know in which company you got your phone service .
It is called AldiTalk by Aldi (the supermarket chain) :)
As a foreigner, I also have to pay the insurance myself, which is about 150 Euros. So my rigid expense per month without food is already above 1000😢
Trueee. I forgot about that...
I don't have to pay it right now, but as soon as I am 25 yo, I also have to pay for that.
what insurance?
Hi Mark, thank you for your clear explaination. I have a question, so is it posibble for international students in their 1st semester to have a part time job?
Yes, absolutely! The laws are the same for international students as for German citizens. If you study here, you can work up to 20 h per week :)
Do you work part-time to finance your studies and do you really pay ~€55 for one square meter?
have you actually checked your usage on cellular ? I understand if you need 4GB or 2GB per month, but 1GB or less seems way too low I would think.
Haha yes! I mean for the last 4 years I had only 1GB so I know that this is sufficient for me :)
I only use it for Google Maps or whatsapps sometimes as I try to stay away from my phone as much as possible. :)
Hi actually I wanted to know is how are the opportunities is for mechatronics in Germany. Which mechanical domains have jobs in Germany
That is absolutely not my field of expertise, I am sorry. But ChatGPT says: "mechatronics opportunities in Germany are generally favorable, with a strong demand for professionals in various mechanical domains. Germany has a robust manufacturing industry, and mechatronics engineers are sought after in fields such as automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, and aerospace. Additionally, the country's commitment to innovation and technology ensures a steady demand for skilled mechatronics professionals."
Hi i hear that study at TUM really hard it's right?
I cannot compare it to other Universities... But it is definitely doable once you understand how the system works :)
4:07 cries cuz I'm paying 1800 CAD for my bedroom in a lane way house in Vancouver (Abt 1214 euros) a month 💀
i would like to ask which part of city is more pocket freindly if you go to tum garching campus
Hey :)
The more distant from the city Center, the cheaper it gets :)
It is very typical to live in shared flats where you have your own room and share a Kirchen and bathroom with several other people. As you wsnt to go to Garching I would recommend finding something along the U6 Subway line as this is the one taking you to Garching :)
Hey, do your parents fund the education or you work somewhere?
Hey, I have a scholarship and get some money from the government in addition which combined Cover more than half of my momthly expenses. I worked one year full-time before starting my Masters so that I now have a bit of a buffer but my parents also help me out a bit.
@@markus_rut thx for the reply!
Can one survive under 700 euros as a student in Erlangen ?
I would say yes, if you find affordable accommodation :)
bhai konse cource mein aa rha hai
Damn, it's expensive. Do you work?
Currently I don't, but I have worked basically during my whole Bachelors... It's very typical to have a working student job. Almost all students work part time :)
How much does a part time student job pays?@@markus_rut
@@markus_rut Considering that point, do you have some savings to live? I mean, how much did you earn per month at work part time? or how much money do you have left after paying all stuff? Greetings from Chile!
Hii is it possible to survive with 900 eur per month in Munich?
I would say yes, if you live frugally and/or if you get into a student dorm :)
Thank you..
I live in a student dorm and yeah it's definitely possible
@@halilsmith8162 what's the name of the dorm?
