Some later episodes used clips from this version, while earlier versions used clips from the daytime version or the pilot episode with Mark Kriski. Doug was born on 10/24 so this episode on 10/23 or earlier.

I don’t understand? There were two price is rights ? Bob Barker was host well into the 2000’s

Aside the daytime version (hosted by Bob Barker at the time), there were three distinct nighttime versions: the 1972-80 version hosted by Dennis James (later Bob Barker in 1977-80), the 1985-86 version with Tom Kennedy, and this here, the 1994-95 version.

Somewhere on the internet, there's a short pitch film that was originally made in early 1972 (I think?). It was made to sell a weekly syndicated version of The New Price is Right, though I'm not sure if they had the CBS network version in mind yet at the time. In the film was producer Mark Goodson and eventual nighttime host Dennis James. They played a couple of games which would supposedly resemble what viewers would see on this new version.
I say new version because there was an older version prior to this. The original began on NBC in November 1956 with host Bill Cullen. That one had four contestants on stage bidding on different kinds of prizes in an auction-style format, though there were some items where they would only get one bid each. Of course, the closest to the actual price without going over would win the item. This version had returning champions as well. It would run on NBC until September 1963, when it moved to ABC. It would remain there until its cancellation in September 1965.

This is because the Mark Goodson production company really wanted to get into the syndication market again with Price is Right but because of the O.J. Simpson trial, they couldn’t get a good enough timeslot because of the wall-to-wall coverage of the trial. Reasons why the Richard Dawson revival of the ‘94 family feud and this Syndicated nighttime Price is Right didn’t last long. It was a good idea to make the Price is Right receive a modern touch if it was hosted by a different host, other than Bob Barker, but it all resulted in bad timing. if you want a really good 30 minute version of The Price is Right look no further than the UK Bruce Forsyth version of The Price is Right. to me, it is better than this version and also reuses the swanky jazzy theme song we all know and love.
