A friend of mine showed me the song "Messages From The Stars" and that's where I really fell in love with the RAH Band. Soon after, I discovered the album "Mystery" and was astonished with the sounds you came up 40 years ago! It sounds just as fresh as it came out yesterday! You sir have created a wonderful group, and it's always a pleasure to hear these funky basslines coupled with the amazing melodies and great vocals. Thank you, Mr. Hewson!

"When the crunch came I found myself at last thrown from the main Highway and propelled headlong down this strange new Side Road. Sunlit and uncharted, it draws me on to see what lies Beyond"
From the album "the crunch and beyond" 👍🏼💥

Thank you for this incredible track Mr Hewson! I was 13 years old and choreographed a "modern" dance piece to The Crunch for my entry into the All Englands Arts Awards - I got the gold - and it couldn't have been done without you - and this phenomenally catchy music. It is such a treasured memory from my early teenage years. Forever grateful 💖🎵🎶

You Sir, are a legend! I can't begin to tell you just how much The Crunch meant to me in the summer of '77. Such amazing memories. It was around my 11th birthday, and i really think if it depended upon it, i could easily have killed just to get my hands on a copy. I'm only half-joking! Lol! Thankfully it didn't come to that, and I did of course legitimately buy a copy, which i still own today, and all but wore it out. Where did those years go! Anyway, i'd like to thank you for something that has always been so very important to me! You have an incredible talent. Kind regards 🤟🏻😎

A 'wonderfully constructed ' single! And it's uniqueness almost immediately set it apart, from what was the contemporary music scene of the summer of 1977!

That’s Andy Clark on keys on Top of the pops ( Jeff Beck / David Bowie ) . It’s his birthday today ! He’s the one who plays keys on “ Ashes to Ashes”.I’ll have to show him this 😂.

When I saw The Rah Band on Top Of The Pops in their bin liner costumes I thought they were punk rockers. I thought bin liners as clothes were part of the punk movement, fashion at its cheapest. They may have been a bit like The Partridge Family and The 🍌 Banana Splits, not a real group, but I thought their image suited this 🎧 song. I was sorry to discover we no longer seem to be able to get the video on You Tube, we only see the briefest glimpse of The Rah Band- as my 17 year old self thought they were- here, but they shall always be the Rah Band as I fondly remember them. I was disappointed to discover The Rah Band didn’t really exist.😢😢

I remember watching this on ToTPs when I was 9 years old. Couldn't remember the name of the tune or the band until I saw it in a 70's hits compilation - what I did remember was the guy on the synth wearing a balaclava. Always struck me as one of the edgiest segments on ToTPs - now I find 50 years later that it was all a fake!

It was removed because it wasn't the real The Rah Band, it was a dep group, RAH was unavailable that day due to prior commitments
