I am fond of S61. The first helicopter I saw coming down from the sky and landing in front of a football field in front of my house. I was only 8 years old then. The Sound is thunderous for a kid like me but curiosity plus fear made me go closer to see a look. Fear and curiosity as I approached nearer to view the spectacular helicopter when it land. It is a huge contraption floating above the ground Infront of me. It landed and out came an injured police ranger going back to his home nearby. We went nearer to get a closer look...Thousand of rivets on the surface of the helicopter..not smooth as I thought it should be like a car metal surface. It's is a huge helicopter compare to my 8 year old size barely 4 feet high. I press the metal surface and it is solid and not like car where you can flex it when pushed. When they start the turbine engine, we knew we have to go away.. I stand at a distance as the rev up the engine. We can see the blades start to lift up and the helicopter escaped the ground. The sound was thunderous and it really frightened me. I ran back to the house as the big monster lift up above us. I got fear the helicopter might crash upon us and that is why I ran back into the house. My obsession of helicopter till this day. 40 years have passed and I have yet rode in one. If I have a chance I like to ride the civilian S61N like the video above. It would really make my day. Alas all this helicopters have retired and relegated for Forrest logging. I wish Sikorsky can upgrade it to be a bit fatter...maybe 4 in a row seating. Look at US presidential helicopter being the same type but inside it's a big cramp for s presidential helivopy. The VH92 is not that impressive for me. I still prefer the graceful S61.
Flew on the new helicopter this week. So much quieter than the old ones. Great service 👍
@Hoy Sum AgustaWestland AW139
8 years ago...wow!! I hope it will come back to Penzance again one day.....much easier from there to the Scillies......
And now there is a Sainsbury's superstore there.
Really like the camera angles. Not even the music can ruin it.
Flew in this helicopters for over 20 years in offshore oil industry and always did rotors running boarding and disembarking.
Why was that?
I like the music. Adds a contrast of moods.
You can have your "moods" by listening to music. This is a video about a helicopter!
@@missasinenomine yeah but it brings back memories.
What songs were used @daro?
What songs did you use?
I would like to have heard it too though, like cut the damn music and reinstall the sound of the rotors... Please.
Here here!
Was helicopter flight cheaper then the aeroplane?
marginally
Nope very expensive parts and required more maint then a plane.

I thought for safety reasons, they weren't supposed to start the engine until all the passengers were onboard ?
They often boarded passengers with the engine on.
Great shots, but hideous soundtack ruins it!
Music was plain dreadful ruined the video
