Trap-Jaw being shocked at his own body morphing out of control, Evil-Lyn literally going mad with power, and Beast Man ripping out of his weak shell and unleashing the beast within. These are terrifying and I love it.
Really, REALLY love how the villains' transformations are the opposite of the heroes'. Adam shares the power he achieved with his team, and they accept their weapons with confidence and pride, welcoming them as they're already part of their inner selves, now made form and able to help them save the day. While Skeletor chains his minions (they're definitely NOT teammates, there's little to no trust in the group) and says that they have HIS power. And while some do accept their new powers, by their reactions it's really painful and overwhelming. Trap Jaw was the least willing to do the transformation, and has to hold his jaw as it completely changes his mouth and teeth from the inside. Evil-Lyn is happy to become more powerful, but her powers leave her screaming in agony the entire time. And Beast Man is downright eager to cause some bloodshed, and even he has to destroy his previous body like a hollow husk as the beast inside tears it apart. The end result is an incredibly intense transformation sequence, one of the more unique I've ever seen, and I really enjoy it! :D
The scariest thing about this scene was not transformations themselves, it was skeleton saying “they have my power now” unfazed, As if to say that the terrifying, reality warping powers that he gives them was only a fraction of his true power
My take away is that he was twisting the call of "I have the power" that the heroes do. He-Man and his friends say they "have the power" but don't claim it belongs to them. Skeletor does assert that the Havoc belongs to him and the other Dark Masters are just using it because he allows it. And as we see in the following episode the Havoc does still belong to him since uses it control the other Dark Masters so they can only use the evil power when he allows and how he allows it.

It reminds me of Kronis in the DC Comics He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, where nanites were used to give him his signature jaw as Trap Jaw, and that the nanites formed a sawblade-like mouth like Havoc's power does to him here in the 2021 cartoon. It makes him look even more intimidating for sure.
I especially like how they gave him Kirby’s inhale, able to extend his jaw and made his insides an furnace. Making him a blender and incinerator for any poor soul that gets sucked into his nightmare maw😈

This was one of the best moments in the series! Not only do the villains look more like their original appearances, but they have transformation sequences that are opposite to the heroes: horrific, painful, and evil. Kronis is morphed into a machine from the inside out, Lynn is consumed by the darkness, happily so (what a masochist), and R'qazz is petrified alive while the beast within him literally claws out of him and smashes his old body to pieces. I can't wait to see what the other villains transformations will be like!
Actually the petrification is how HMatMotU represent death, petrification with a hole in the chest where the soul gets ripped out, so basically the transformation is Skeletor sends enough Havoc in to R'qazz to allow Beast Man (as you put it very well the beast within) to kill him and take over. But yes, awesome transformations, loving the show. Not sure about Two Bad, I mean how do you think they will do it, two villains who merge due to Havoc, or a two headed being right out of the gate?

If anyone's curious, the co-producer (and most likely character designer) for the 3D He-Man is Jeff Matsuda, known for his work on Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman (the 2004 cartoon version). His character designs are always incredibly well-done with lots of personality. Truly, the 3D He-Man ended up being the better He-Man cartoon, it's got the purest essence of a Saturday morning cartoon and I love it.

Jeff Matsuda really had a lot of fun with the character designs in this series, I can feel it. Even with the big difference with Adam's physique when he's He-Man (which I feel drives vibes from Shazam/DC's Captain Marvel a bit) and also the way Skeletor is too.
Beast Man transformation is the more HEAVY METAL thing I have ever seen in a Cartoon for kids XD, these transformations are incredible. I love how much contrast with the Masters Transformations, that are heroic, these are painful and corrupted, badass and SCARY.

A subtle hint I appreciate: Skeletor's power is represented by *chains* wrapping around their weapons. Nice foreshadowing of how he is taking over their mind as we find out later
And it also can parallel to the corrupting nature of Havoc, and what it did when changing Keldor into Skeletor when he chose to embrace the power of Havoc.

In the case of Evelyn being reborn as Evil-Lyn, it fits, given I imagine that's why she sought to learn magic, to be able to access even greater power, so she doesn't care if she has awakened power tied to Horokoth, a deity of destruction, like how Teela as Sorceress has power tied to Zoar, a goddess of great life in Eternia. It ties really well too how Havoc affects the Dark Masters to make them similar to their counterparts in the Masters of the Universe; Adam having the best brought out of him by the Power of Grayskull when he becomes He-Man and Keldor becoming twisted, corrupted, and more evil than he was deep down when Havoc turned him into Skeletor for a good example. In the case of Kronis to Trap Jaw, it ties to Kronis having been Man-At-Arms to Randor before his betrayal with Keldor's coup, and how he is a master of technology, so he basically becomes a machine inside and out thanks to the power of Havoc flowing through his prosthetic jaw to help him move it after Duncan broke his jaw. And like said with R'Qazz, he basically became the monster Cringer knew him to be when he let out his inner beast by becoming Beast Man thanks to the power of Havoc.
You know something I really appreciate, those end illustration cards at the end of episodes that would reveal major events for next episodes, I like that the one for hinting at this episode chose to present the dark masters in a very silly and child friendly cartoon manner only for the actual reveal to be almost horrific and sadistic in the transformation
Netflix freakin' nailed it with this reimagining. It combines the best elements of the 80's and 2002 into one smooth package. Definitely reminds me when Nicklodeon rebooted TMNT in 2012.
You mean failed because everything is absolutely different and not in the acceptable way. The only thing that is appreciated is the fact that they finally confirm in Media that Adam andKeldor are related. Of course that was only something that was made when the eighties cartoon came when they decided to make He-Man related to the king. And would have been something Confirmed in the 2002 show had they had a second season. And don't be insulting the 2012 Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles like that

I actually think the scariest transformation is Evelyn's into evil-lyn, it's not because she's showing fear or pain but because she's enjoying it and letting herself be consumed by the power and the madness.

It can be noticed when comparing that when the masters of the universe it brings out the best in them like their qualities and potential while the masters of darkness transformation is like an opposite reflection to the protagonists transformation, which brings out the worst in them with each being consumed by havoc and being twisted into their deepest darkest desires.
That's kinda the message with the power of Grayskull and Havoc. Grayskull brings out the best you you can be while Havoc brings out the worst of yourself to the surface.
Never been a masters of the universe guy but this looks dope as hell, really digging the villain designs so I think I’ll give it a shot. Personally I’ve always been a GI Joe guy myself but we haven’t gotten shit in the last couple years since renegades.
Out of them all, Evil-Lyn's transformation sequence was my favorite, although I wish they'd given her fangs like her bats, and perhaps even claws, give her a slight vampiric appearance to go with her evil witch motif
I can only imagine what this series' producer, Jeff Matsuda, did when designing Evil-Lyn, Trap Jaw, and Beast Man, to make them feel as monstrous as they are.

Honestly, I was surprised about how enjoyable this show turned out to be... Sure, there are some parts I needed to accept, but goddamn ! Definitely waiting for season 2 !!
When I first saw the trailer for this, I rolled my eyes. It came off like an orignal idea that they later added He-Man names to. While I do think parts of this still have that vibe, I think they nailed it. It reminds of like a dark Power Rangers, the these "cutscene-like" moments might be a little cheesey but the animation for them is so cool you can't really hate seeing them a few times. I actually hope we see these guys turn back and forth just to get to see this stuff.
This is what He-man show supposed to be. A fresh new take on the old thing but updating it for the kids to not look boring and be a fun show, not over load with adult crap and false marketing like masters of the universe.

I think I got shivers watching the transformations. Evil-Lynn's especially was so good. Also I dont know why the line "They have my power" was just chef's kiss. I really like trapjaw's design with the teeth thing going on. I think the last thing I was expecting was for the CGI HeMan to be actually pretty cool and nicely animated.
What made this series so much better than Revelations and She Ra is the fact that they’re actually having fun with this. Revelations and She Ra try to take themselves way too seriously.

I like all these, especially having a genderbent Webstor. The idea of Stinkor being a walking talking chemical factory is a good one too. Fingers crossed we end up seeing most of these villains in the show!
When I first saw the trailer for the series, I didnt held hope. But dear oh dear, I'm happy to be proven wrong! This scene is both equally awesome to me, but also incredible frustating. This could have been Revelations. Revelations had many good things what are overshadowed by it bad things. But I felt what truly threw down the series were the Directors descicions. No one is perfect, nor would there wouldnt be trolls no matter how good the series was. But truth and sincerity would have won him many allies. Had been Kevin Smoth had just been outfront of it....if he had just told people what this wouldnt be a He-Man centralised series, what this was a Teela show from the begining, show what even if his traget audience werent the 80 series fans but what he sincere with them and respetfull of their tastes while also making clear they were targeting a different audience....I like to think things would have been different. Teela could have been a that. *A character what saw her best friend die while trying to save them. Discovered the terrible terrible weight this must have been for Adam. And desciding to continue to become Eternia new protector, while also strugliling agaisnt the weight what is being a protector in of an dying Eternia ruked by a cruel and apathic god Skeletor, closer each day to the end. We could have watched Teela strugle agaisnt those imposible demands, form an army agasint god skeletor and triumph.* *He-Man could have died in the 2 or 3 episode rather the first. Have some meaningfull chat with Teela what could have been a closure and make his death even more impactfull. And even return as Savage He-Man strugling agaisnt an imposed bestial nature and become a hero again, like merged Hulk. Figthing with Teela agasint god skeletor* The Lyn could have been a reddemed character. Maybe she could have seen what Skeletors rule was doing to the world. Maybe she could have grown guilty of what she had done. And put her efforst in reviving Adam. *One of He-Man's greatest adversiries, Lyn, becoming one of his greatest allies. Trying tl being him back from the dead* And also to serve as a conflcit for Teela: *To forgive and trust a former enemy, Lyn. To move on from past grudges. And undertsand the difference between rigthouss fight and mercifull forviness. And even let a revived Adam be finally free of the weight of the He Man mantle a have a normal life with the Lyn*
I think that it was a good idea to not have Kass participate in this scene. Except for her, each of the masters had a rival among the dark masters. Adam had Skeletor himself, Cringer had Beastman, Duncan had Trapjaw, and Teela had Evilyn. I have been thinking who they could have used as a rival for Kass. Wasn't it mentioned that Kass' father was killed in a ship crash in an earlier episode? If they had included Kass in that scene, I am thinking that they could have introduced Triclops as her rival. Perhaps have the person who becomes Triclops be the one who was responsible for the crash that killed Kass' father.
@@beckhornig7910 that would play well with the character as Triclops origionally was meant to be a heroic warrior in the toy line. It was only by accidentially printing and shipping him out as a villain he became that way.

If anyone's curious, the co-producer (and most likely character designer) for the 3D He-Man is Jeff Matsuda, known for his work on Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman (the 2004 cartoon version). His character designs are always incredibly well-done with lots of personality.
Truly, the 3D He-Man ended up being the better He-Man cartoon, it's got the purest essence of a Saturday morning cartoon and I love it.
I did not know that, and that gives me more appreciation for He-man (cgi)
Wheb I saw it, I felt something was very different yet it felt somehow familiar.
Jeff Matsuda clearly has evolved his artstyle!

Jeff Matsuda really had a lot of fun with the character designs in this series, I can feel it. Even with the big difference with Adam's physique when he's He-Man (which I feel drives vibes from Shazam/DC's Captain Marvel a bit) and also the way Skeletor is too.

Beast Man transformation is the more HEAVY METAL thing I have ever seen in a Cartoon for kids XD, these transformations are incredible. I love how much contrast with the Masters Transformations, that are heroic, these are painful and corrupted, badass and SCARY.

A subtle hint I appreciate: Skeletor's power is represented by *chains* wrapping around their weapons. Nice foreshadowing of how he is taking over their mind as we find out later

Out of the three transformations, I think I like Evil-Lyn the most. The madness in her eyes throughout the whole process is just , WOW! 🤩🤩🤩

In the case of Evelyn being reborn as Evil-Lyn, it fits, given I imagine that's why she sought to learn magic, to be able to access even greater power, so she doesn't care if she has awakened power tied to Horokoth, a deity of destruction, like how Teela as Sorceress has power tied to Zoar, a goddess of great life in Eternia. It ties really well too how Havoc affects the Dark Masters to make them similar to their counterparts in the Masters of the Universe; Adam having the best brought out of him by the Power of Grayskull when he becomes He-Man and Keldor becoming twisted, corrupted, and more evil than he was deep down when Havoc turned him into Skeletor for a good example.
In the case of Kronis to Trap Jaw, it ties to Kronis having been Man-At-Arms to Randor before his betrayal with Keldor's coup, and how he is a master of technology, so he basically becomes a machine inside and out thanks to the power of Havoc flowing through his prosthetic jaw to help him move it after Duncan broke his jaw.
And like said with R'Qazz, he basically became the monster Cringer knew him to be when he let out his inner beast by becoming Beast Man thanks to the power of Havoc.

You know something I really appreciate, those end illustration cards at the end of episodes that would reveal major events for next episodes, I like that the one for hinting at this episode chose to present the dark masters in a very silly and child friendly cartoon manner only for the actual reveal to be almost horrific and sadistic in the transformation
The best part about all of this is that this is probably the most hilarious, powerful, and badass Skeletor we've ever seen.
Netflix freakin' nailed it with this reimagining. It combines the best elements of the 80's and 2002 into one smooth package. Definitely reminds me when Nicklodeon rebooted TMNT in 2012.
You mean failed because everything is absolutely different and not in the acceptable way. The only thing that is appreciated is the fact that they finally confirm in Media that Adam andKeldor are related. Of course that was only something that was made when the eighties cartoon came when they decided to make He-Man related to the king. And would have been something Confirmed in the 2002 show had they had a second season.

I actually think the scariest transformation is Evelyn's into evil-lyn, it's not because she's showing fear or pain but because she's enjoying it and letting herself be consumed by the power and the madness.

Evil lyn's transformation gave me chills.
It can be noticed when comparing that when the masters of the universe it brings out the best in them like their qualities and potential while the masters of darkness transformation is like an opposite reflection to the protagonists transformation, which brings out the worst in them with each being consumed by havoc and being twisted into their deepest darkest desires.
That's kinda the message with the power of Grayskull and Havoc. Grayskull brings out the best you you can be while Havoc brings out the worst of yourself to the surface.
I LOVE the Universal Monsters feel to this scene.
They made Beastman look scary, imagine what the other villains will like.

Never been a masters of the universe guy but this looks dope as hell, really digging the villain designs so I think I’ll give it a shot. Personally I’ve always been a GI Joe guy myself but we haven’t gotten shit in the last couple years since renegades.
Out of them all, Evil-Lyn's transformation sequence was my favorite, although I wish they'd given her fangs like her bats, and perhaps even claws, give her a slight vampiric appearance to go with her evil witch motif

I can only imagine what this series' producer, Jeff Matsuda, did when designing Evil-Lyn, Trap Jaw, and Beast Man, to make them feel as monstrous as they are.
I have to say these Transformations were scary😰😰. But this is how Is supposed to be. This one of the reasons why everyone loves this show over Revelations
Honestly, I was surprised about how enjoyable this show turned out to be... Sure, there are some parts I needed to accept, but goddamn ! Definitely waiting for season 2 !!
When I first saw the trailer for this, I rolled my eyes. It came off like an orignal idea that they later added He-Man names to.
While I do think parts of this still have that vibe, I think they nailed it. It reminds of like a dark Power Rangers, the these "cutscene-like" moments might be a little cheesey but the animation for them is so cool you can't really hate seeing them a few times. I actually hope we see these guys turn back and forth just to get to see this stuff.

Okay Beastman’s transformation was pretty amazing. You expect a classic werewolf style morph and you get him breaking out of his old body.

I think I got shivers watching the transformations. Evil-Lynn's especially was so good.
Also I dont know why the line "They have my power" was just chef's kiss. I really like trapjaw's design with the teeth thing going on.
I think the last thing I was expecting was for the CGI HeMan to be actually pretty cool and nicely animated.
What made this series so much better than Revelations and She Ra is the fact that they’re actually having fun with this. Revelations and She Ra try to take themselves way too seriously.

When I first saw the trailer for the series, I didnt held hope. But dear oh dear, I'm happy to be proven wrong!
This scene is both equally awesome to me, but also incredible frustating. This could have been Revelations.
Revelations had many good things what are overshadowed by it bad things.
But I felt what truly threw down the series were the Directors descicions.
No one is perfect, nor would there wouldnt be trolls no matter how good the series was. But truth and sincerity would have won him many allies.
Had been Kevin Smoth had just been outfront of it....if he had just told people what this wouldnt be a He-Man centralised series, what this was a Teela show from the begining, show what even if his traget audience werent the 80 series fans but what he sincere with them and respetfull of their tastes while also making clear they were targeting a different audience....I like to think things would have been different.
Teela could have been a that.
*A character what saw her best friend die while trying to save them. Discovered the terrible terrible weight this must have been for Adam. And desciding to continue to become Eternia new protector, while also strugliling agaisnt the weight what is being a protector in of an dying Eternia ruked by a cruel and apathic god Skeletor, closer each day to the end. We could have watched Teela strugle agaisnt those imposible demands, form an army agasint god skeletor and triumph.*
*He-Man could have died in the 2 or 3 episode rather the first. Have some meaningfull chat with Teela what could have been a closure and make his death even more impactfull. And even return as Savage He-Man strugling agaisnt an imposed bestial nature and become a hero again, like merged Hulk. Figthing with Teela agasint god skeletor*
The Lyn could have been a reddemed character. Maybe she could have seen what Skeletors rule was doing to the world. Maybe she could have grown guilty of what she had done.
And put her efforst in reviving Adam.
*One of He-Man's greatest adversiries, Lyn, becoming one of his greatest allies. Trying tl being him back from the dead*
And also to serve as a conflcit for Teela: *To forgive and trust a former enemy, Lyn. To move on from past grudges. And undertsand the difference between rigthouss fight and mercifull forviness. And even let a revived Adam be finally free of the weight of the He Man mantle a have a normal life with the Lyn*

I think that it was a good idea to not have Kass participate in this scene. Except for her, each of the masters had a rival among the dark masters. Adam had Skeletor himself, Cringer had Beastman, Duncan had Trapjaw, and Teela had Evilyn.
I have been thinking who they could have used as a rival for Kass. Wasn't it mentioned that Kass' father was killed in a ship crash in an earlier episode? If they had included Kass in that scene, I am thinking that they could have introduced Triclops as her rival. Perhaps have the person who becomes Triclops be the one who was responsible for the crash that killed Kass' father.
Her name is Krass.

@@beckhornig7910 that would play well with the character as Triclops origionally was meant to be a heroic warrior in the toy line. It was only by accidentially printing and shipping him out as a villain he became that way.
