Jeff, are you trying to tell me you don't know who the legendary Doug "It Will Keel" Marcaida is? 😂
I’m actually surprised
Doug Marcaida is one of the judges from Forged in fire and he also was involved in the creating the fox knives Dart series and the 5.11 karambit. His karambit/Silat videos is what got me into the love of Karambits.
A fantastic show I hope if Jeff hasn’t seen it he checks it out
It will keel
Just a correction he is not a silat master he is a Filipino Martial Arts (FMA)/ Kali instructor.
@@blackangelassasin didn't say he was a silat master he was making a video about silat since the martial art is associated with the use of the karambit and yes I do know that he is is a kali practitioner.
I enjoy wearing a variety of neck knives (not all at once of course). I both open and conceal carry depending on the situation. At work I conceal. Most other places I open carry. My favorite is a custom by Papa Bear Knives. It is fun because it has Navajo blanket micarda scales, and I've had a lot of people ask to see it and hold it because it looks so good.
Thank you for my next future purchase. I honestly feel like neck knives don't get the credit they deserve for being the best EDC blade, in theory.
I have a minimalist in D2 I wear every single day I'm in a wheelchair so keeping a knife in my pocket usually rubs on my wheel so I wear it every single day I would love to get a custom someday.
I have an MBK neck knife. Just do not sleep with it. It can come out on accident.
Doug marcaida he's the weapons tester on forged and fire ,the guys that always says" it will kill" he is a karambit expert and an expert in many other martial arts weapons
ok thanks for the info I know the guy didnt know thats his design
@@cutlerylover no problem Jeff, I don't think he actually designs but they show him a design he approves it and they throw his name on it lol, you should check one more "design " from doug its fox knives Dart, that is the 1st one i ever seen and it a folding karambit , also check his self defense karambit videos
There are some pretty pricy neckers here. What did you trade for these? The comprised retention on that kerlshaw Brace is due to the GRN slabs having been removed by the previous owner. You could probably get some from kershaw. I'm crazy for neck knives. Jealous of your collection. I mostly carry neck knive openly, unless I need the possibility of the element of surprise. They usually go unnoticed where I live.
I once went to a neighbor’s door to ask if they’d throw my dog’s ball back over the fence and realized that my neck knife was visible. So I quickly tucked it in. It wasn’t an issue but it was a funny realization for me to go “oh snap, I should hide this before she comes to the door.
I tried the neck knife thing but I don’t like it. I’m fond of the static line in my right pocket.
I have the crkt biwa the outdoor edge le duck and the olight night hawk all conceal except the olight
Brah you don't know Doug Marcaida?
Not a fan of forged in fire...when it came out it was cool but its like mythbusters once I saw a bunch of inconsistent knife stuff and knew it was more about entertainment it turned me off I dont watch it..
I really really hate most karambits I think they look goofy but damn that last knife might have won me over
I wear one sometimes. When I do, it's a second knife I wear inside my shirt.
Same here, I think the majority of people who carry one of these have it as a "last ditch knife"
Open carry … Kizlyar supreme Amigo…
I’m the same guy known for my Nek knife and fixed blades… and a lot of people ask, and I get “that’s cool” then not…
Work and wear your blades
I wear a neck knife every day. Under my shirt people at my work do not approve, the whole office thing.
I'm carried all different types, from all different manufacturers. The only Issue I find is sweating on my knife during the summers months and finding a good steel rat I do not need worry about rust.
Yes I know enough about certain steel, but if anyone has a suggestion it would be appreciated.
Over the years, I've only carried my knives concealed. I had a co-worker who took my small knife and made a joke joke about having my weapon and joking said "I got your knife"
I whipped out a 4 inch Tanto blade and that was the end of the conversation
That is quite a bunch of good quality stuff. Nice trade.
Nice collection.
The Pika is an excellent distance creator. I know for a fact. I was a victim of a mugging and I was convinced I was going to be shot. The guy was close to me with a pistol to my forehead. I used a good push kick and jumped on the guy and instinct took over. I sliced his face and neck and he dropped the gun to cover his wounds. Needless to say, he ran off cussing and screaming like the punkass he is. Carry the Pika on your weak side leaving your dominant hand free, especially if you carry a gun.
The last knife is from the Forge In Fire guy kill test. That is one he personally uses a lot in his tik tok account.
hey thanks for the info I didnt know, although I use to really love the show and its not of interest anymore its a great stor7y for the knife and you know I love a knife with some personality
I have the SPEW, but I pocket carry on the left side. Tried to neck carry but I would have to conceal and that defeats the purpose. I keep a bead chain in my edc bag in case I need to switch to neck carry though.
I dare you to wear them all at the same time and go to the shops... I know... it would be ridiculous, but it would be funny 😁
14:01 fuck yeah Jeff. I always feel silly with 5 pocket clips sticking out of my pockets, then I remind myself this 😂
We can’t carry neck knives in the uk 🏴🇬🇧😉😉
i do carry a neck knife - i have a string around my neck and the knife i carry is the mini tuff lite from cold steel - i use the clip to dock the knife to the sting and if need be - because i forgot to pack a full knife - i clip the mini tuff lite to my pocket - its great - very secure and when open carried it is completely non threatening - good for almost every knife task - even for self defense - but i usually carry a cold steel X size folder such as a TI lite 6 or cold steel counter point
This is my favorite genre of blade. I have several minimalists and a few other too. I would love to have this box!
3 Cr stainless should never be used in a knife you actually plan to use. Cutting open a letter and it’s time to resharpen. I have better letter openers. Awesome Bastenelli I have been wanting the spade
Today will now be declared: Jeff Day. In fact, let’s all celebrate Jeff month.
Stabbing perhaps works as a last def attempt were you dont thave time to even pull the knife? And you stab with the sheet still on it? Either that or its made for kids 😗
The Condor is called the Tortuga. I love mine. Means turtle in Spanish
I would have one to use. I am in a wheelchair, so sometimes getting at anything in my pockets isn't that easy. I love the one with the pry and the extra tools.
I carry a neck knife one the outside of my clothes pretty much every day mainly carry my cutlerylover swordtail
I still really want the Evans knife and tool Companion. I would do anything for one
I’m liking that Spyderco…
I carry a CRKT S.P.E.W. concealed as a last ditch.
Doug Marcaida. I watched some of his video demonstrating how to use karambit here in youtube he's cool..
ok thanks
I'm surprised there was no crkt minimalist
which 1 do you find the most utilitarian?
I like the idea of neck knives but sadly they loose their purpose when wearing them tucked under the shirt, at which point drawing the knife on my belt or in my pockets is much quicker. I wouldn't open carry a neck knife, it also doesn't go with my attire, but for the ones who do Id imagine its very convenient.
I carry one crkt .s.p.e.w. on my neck. but I got one take cord wrap round my belt loop and tuck it in the watch pocket
Yeah I can totally see that if I had to wear a suit for example its more than tacky and our of place to open carry a neck knife...I do tuck for specific events like a funeral or wedding regardless of what im wearing...
Throwback Thursday. Do a video of you chopping down a tree with the little hatchet. If I remember right you cut a tree down with a pm2 years ago.
I tried the spew but when it started falling out of the sheath and poking me in the stomach I quit carrying a neck knife. For some reason even a small knife like the spew I would get headache when I had it around my neck for any real amount of time. So no I don’t carry a neck knife. 😂
I cut a tree down with a delicas I think years ago but also cut a small tree maybe an inch or 2 with a tiny 1" slipjoint too, lol
@@cutlerylover wow just looked it up. It was a Endura and it was 11 years ago. We are getting old 😂
Ohhh god I love that pika. Been a dream knife as soon as I saw it but I just can't afford it. And personally for self defense knives while I could try to get a clone I think the real thing is definitely better.
I got a Buck 160 which I guess they discontinued now. It's a little guy and I have other knives, but I carry it every day under my shirt just as a back up. I've rarely used it but it's nice to know it's there.
Love you bro, been subbed since high school
One good knife and a box full of crap. Cool.
I love my pika the shape is like a raptors claw
My current neck knife is a Cold Steel Urban Pal T-handle stubby dagger. I carry mine open the majority of the time and if don't its somewhere really not accepted that have to go and no choice. I get same responses also lol. I really like that Hogue and several others you got actually. But I'm good with the short blade bc has a nice full grip. My CS urban pal is just a rubber textured curved T handle you have to hold a certain way. Im just testing and will swap bc like the looks but not handle fit. Its a dagger with one side serrated and other sharp. (But prob already knew that lol) Later man. 🐍🇺🇸
I have the hogue F03 as well but mine is the hawkbill and it came with G-Mascus G10 scales with a Karambit ring built into the G10 scales, it's a nice little blade. But I kind of regret not getting the version you have. The hawkbill is cool but I don't have the recurve attachment for my KME to sharpen it.
I've been carrying neck knives for years, there was no warm up period for me. I fell in love with the idea instantly and I too open carry mine. People in public are in their own little worlds and don't really pay attention. The amount that do is small. Being that I carry a gun too. I'm always watching people's moves and whatnot in stores and stuff but most are too preoccupied with phones to pay close attention to stuff
Thumbs up for the use of the word chode.
Cool Hogue, CRKT and Kershaw. The Bastinelli looks nasty "it will cut" :). Thanks Jeff, cool mini-collection there.
After many years, I believe the Cling-on was just discontinued. Might have to grab on for the collection while I can. I've never even seen that Boker plus hatchet. Pretty funny but it actually looks like it could be somewhat useful.
Me wondering why I love this channel: *Oh knife review!!*
The second to last one, I would only use the spike with the sheath on as a glass breaker
Also I see a knife 9 times out of 10 I will ask about the knife... also I will check the edge and silently judge you if its dull, even though my EDC is dull AF because it's my beater knife
Very cool collection I to wear neck knives depending on what I'm doing that day, camping or if I know I'm going to be doing lot's of cutting. I don't have the size collection as you do but I have a few of them.
Very cool
This is the first one I found interesting in a long while but only during the last knife, the bastinelli. I meant I don't watch very many though but I seem to remember years ago that they were more interesting I'm not sure.
It will kiilllll
Sweet
NICE!
Cool
You did not just say Doug Marcaiba 🤦🏻
oh I did 😁
Have you ever handled the Hinderer Flashpoint neck knife? I have one and wear it on a daily basis.
No June Edc video ?
I have always loved neck knives, but i keep them in the pocket always
Wait he hasn’t seen forged in fire?
I have many times but just dont enjoy the show...
That's peculiar I just looked at my watch and said where is Jeff??
And you posted this video
haha
I tried neck knives, but when I need a knife, I instinctually reach for my pocket.
haha nothing wrong with that
I am dying to see your entire collection:)
Really cool neck knives 👍.
