- Got a Fox Game against a 5dan for a change, and he was quite challenging! Turns you dont only have to play 7dans to get a decent game.

Great opponent - played way more solid than most of them.
yeah, unless there is a substantial rank change on fox, i really do love the 5dans more than 6s 7s and 8s so far.
What I learned from this game is that no eye beats one eye
It does when you share only 3 or 4 liberties and carefully acquired enough outside ones
@@BukovTerviczIt has nothing to do with "3 or 4", that's just an unbelievably messy way to think about this. In eye vs no eye, shared liberties belong to the eyed group only. That's all there is to this. If you watch carefully how Batts counts liberties, that's exactly it.
Thx for this explanation.
Yes, that's what I said. We all know eye gets to take all the shared liberties. That's WHY there being so FEW of them was relevant to the op's question of how eye vs no-eye still lost the fight
Try to keep up ;p
10:25 The explanation of the thinking process here was especially clear and helpful, ty ❤
Tense moments. I enjoyed watching you think this one. Thx dwyrin.
Helpful, too! I think i need a return to simple stuff. Some of my games, like this one, seem to be getting needlessly messy?
You are great!
I think the semeai was one liberty closer at the end than you show because opponent should have b16 tesuji.
After J14, couldn't you just play squeez on top: H15, black connects, J17 atari, black takes, J16 atari, black connects, hane at K18 and black has just 2 liberties ?
I was wondering about that one too - i dont think you can do K18 after black L16 (the response to j14). K18 cant get enough liberties so it dies before the black group does or the black group escapes.
