- Julia Hartley Brewer has clashed with Insulate Britain spokesman Liam Norton after the group’s direct action tactics were criticised.
It comes after activists from the group clashed with motorists including a woman desperate to see her mother in hospital as the group staged another demonstration in London.
The group said around 50 people had blocked four sites around the capital on Monday morning during the fourth week of its campaign to urge the Government to insulate 29 million homes by 2030.
This included Blackwall Tunnel in east London, where a woman stuck in the traffic tearfully clashed with protesters as they blocked her journey to see her mother, who she said was in hospital.
Amid blaring horns from dozens of other angry motorists, she told them: “She’s in the ambulance, she’s going to the hospital in Canterbury, do you think I’m stupid?
Crime and Policing minister Kit Malthouse has said Insulate Britain protesters have been slipping through a “legal loophole” but police will be given greater powers to deal with them to ensure they face court action.
Do you have any sympathy with the protesters? Any sympathy at all?

They are being used by the government to manufacture outrage so the government can change legislation to stop the right to protest. I assume because the regime is about to ramp up the discrimination against unvaccinated people. So, yes, i do feel sympathy for the protestors.

Liam Norton starts from a weak position. Putting aside his hysteria for a moment, his assertions and rhetoric are based on speculation, and NOT fact. The environmental movement is just a collection of old anarchists (Greenpeace, CND, Greenham Common anti-capitalist-types) who never grew-up, who believed the BBC (who had decided the climate debate was "settled science" when it clearly - and evidently - was not). The rest of its following are just propagandised half-wits (who inevitably have never bothered to research the subject for themselves). Climate never has and will never be static. And if you can't be bothered to open your eyes to reality, then go and tell your sob story to China and India, Mexico and Brazil: the countries who are spilling greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, along with volcanos! The rest of civilisation need to get on with their lives; and not allow any 'elites' and 'climate coward MPs' to hinder our enterprises and rewards.
I’m baffled by the fact that Norton is a leading spokesman for this group. I mean, surely they can rustle up someone better to deal with the media. It’s beyond amateur hour.

English law is about cause and effect. If a person intentionally blocks the road knowing that an ambulance is trying to get through and a person dies then the culprit is liable. If a person chops down a tree but gets it wrong and causes a traffic jam and somewhere in that queue is the same ambulance then the person could not have reasonably foreseen that event and won’t be liable. It’s a very dangerous game that these ANTIFA in disguise protesters are playing.
The guy takes delusional to a new level. But, to be fair, he sounds like a member of a cult. He doesn’t seem the full shilling, and has clearly been brainwashed and sent out there by more sinister folks to spout this nonsense. I have watched this guy in so many interviews. The standard question is always “someone had/could have died. Do your actions justify that?” And the answer is ALWAYS “If you allowed me to talk, you’d know old people were dying because I’d their cold houses. In a few years we’ll all be sorry.” He clearly can’t answer that question. Stop giving him air time.
