I’m a beginner you are the only I could find that explain how to do this but I had to stop watching until I become more advanced with crocheting because I barely can see what you are doing I wished your camera was zoomed in more 😩 saving this for later ❤️
It can be really difficult to get the hang of at first! I have a separate video where I go over basics, which may help. If there is anything specific you would like to see up closer, let me know and I will try to help.
I had been searching tutorial videos on this kit over a month ago an could not find one I could understand as a beginner. I finally got this part of the kit down because of your video, thank you so much!! Can't wait to start the next video an hope to see you create scrump too!
Haha yes stitch markers are very helpful! In a pinch you can use other things, like safety pins, bobby pins, etc. but buying stitch markers is a good call for getting into crocheting.
I just got this kit and im so glad I found this tutorial. So beginner friendly which I need because I haven't crocheted in years. I forgot to pay attention while doing rounds 8-14 and somewhere I did at least 2 increases and freaked out in part 2 when I wasn't making it back to the marker. Undid a whole round of work, did 2 decreases in line 14 and hopefully it'll work now. lol
It looks like the magic circle, which is complicated. A lot of beginners have trouble with it at first. I have a video where I go over the magic circle and an alternate method you could try. I'll put the link here. If that does not help, let me know. ua-cam.com/video/NJQpRRODW5Y/v-deo.html
Yes, I think that happens often. I do have a video that goes over the basics, and a lot of other channels do as well. That's how I first learned. The Disney kits can be kind of difficult to read.
Thank you so much for sharing! This is my first time crocheting and you explained it well! I made a few mistakes but overall, looks exactly like yours! Going to the next video now!
I learned how to crochet in high school and am relearning now 10 years later and just started this kit. I don’t know if I’m crochet too tight but it is SO hard for me to see my stitches. I made the magic loop and 6 single crochets but it’s so hard for me to see the loops to crochet into on the 2nd round 🥴
It's possible that your stitches are too tight to see them. I would try experimenting with different tension with a separate piece of yarn (maybe a color you haven't used yet) and try a lighter color. Darker colors can be the hardest to see your stitches in.
I picked up this kit cause I love needle work, but I actually focus on cross stitching, and I want to desperately learn crochet. 😂 my grandmother tried to teach me as a child, and I can do a chain, but i make them tight, and its hard for me to get past the magic ring. I should probably start with something simpler. Ill be saving this video for later thanks for making it though!
@@nakoshawolf8907 I hope you keep trying! I have a basics video that might help, but there are so many free patterns for simple projects you could start with! There is also an alternative to the magic ring, which is the chain 2 method.
I was given this kit 2 or 3 years ago. It didn't have enough yarn, even when I used a smaller hook than came in the kit. Plus, the directions didn't match the picture on the box. I was not a beginner to amigurumi/crochet at the time. I ended up creating a crochet part for the eyes, as I felt the stickers would be removed by my great nieces in a split second.
@@skayc1 The kits seem to have some quality control issues-but this one was particularly off. The instructions weren't correct either. I also dislike the idea of the felt stickers, and will likely make my own eyes and buttons for them both when I have time. But I hope your project turned out well!
@@nittlesandnattles After getting yarn from my own stash, it turned out okay. I put it in the toy box for my great nieces & great nephews to play with.
Probably the worst kit I've ever attempted. The Friends kit was pretty sorry too. Why so skimpy on the yarn? Only making these for a friend. Never would do another one.
The ones that are from shows/movies and such seem to have more mistakes. I haven't done the friends one, but the Winnie the Pooh and Stitch ones were both rough at times.
Would you happen to know why my work is curling towards me? I am holding the same way as you but it keeps wanting to curl up and if I’m understanding correctly the side without the tail yarn is the right side. I’m about 35 minutes into the video
Often with making these types of projects, the yarn curves one way or another. Usually it curls the wrong way, and I just automatically curl it back the other way as I go. Like it makes a bowl with wrong side facing out, and I just keep turning it to right side out.
I have been looking for a hedgehog kit but haven't seen one by needle creations yet, but I will keep looking. Do you know if it is an older kit? Or new?

You can zoom in by pinching the video frame

I am a beginner, yes..But I cannot see that first stitch to save my life. I’m gonna go and buy some stitch marker clips? And then I’ll be back😂😂

You need to fix your camera cause it’s really blurry and it’s not very zoomed in
Thank you for letting me know. I have been trying to figure out the blurriness issue, but I'm not very technologically minded, unfortunately.

Btw this is gonna really help

Hey, I know this is super late but my box had the same issue with the felt not being cut correctly. They have not fixed that

Yeah the quality on some of the kits isn't so great sometimes.

I lost the hook to my kit after making scrump and for the life of me can’t remember what size it came with. Can someone help me out?
Nevermind I found it! Was a 3.5mm for anyone else needing to know
Wait how you you do go???!!! 😂😢😅
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what this means- how do I do what?
I’m doing the same thing and it’s not working
Doing the same thing for the magic circle?
What size hook did you use?
I use the hook that came with the kit, which is 3.5 mm.
