excellent DCAD balancing in the cattle feed & its physiological actions on parturition & intestinal motility # but Sulphate SO4 - - is an anion not Sulphur # related to U R advise to use Magnesium Chloride for an anion in feed , though it does provide Cl - anion but it also provide Mg++ cat ion since when 2 Cl atoms break from Mg atom they take their electrons & leave 2 positive ++ charges on Mg ( Cat ion ) # related to serum low PH action on PTH release , it does increase Ca++ reabsorption from bone but at the same time it reabsorbe Ca++ ions from Kidney ( in human i am not sure it has same mechanism in cattle ) #

Is Xzelit a good choice? I was told using this very product 'Xzelit' the ration esp the forage doesn't needs to be changed. So i was wondering is it a good product and how much of it is true about keeping the ration same without altering esp not worrying about the potassium present in the roughage.

Forage is very important.
Let me explain with an example.
Berseem has v high potassium compared to corn silage.
So a ration with berseem will require high dose of anions as compared to ration with corn silage to create slight metabolic acidosis.
So cost of ration will be changed

Kindly I have a question...
How do we relate the DCAD to the calcium level in the body or how its management is necessary to maintain calcium level in the body?
I am asking this question because some farm managers are not using market preparations like procalcivit or calcilmag to boost the calcium level just before parturition because they claim that DCAD management supplements enough calcium so that there is no need of such supplements.
Also you said that -ve DCAD causes metabolic acidosis to some extent... isn't that have any consequences or if that is beneficial other than calcium level then in which aspect this is helpful?

Dear, actually once ur animal is in mild metabolic acidosis, it leads to increased urinary losses of calcium.
So research has proved beneficial results if we supplement @ 1 to 1.5% of DM during close up wd neg DCAD
