Something about KX that I don't like is how the molds are different? Like all of them has "2024" written on them and they looks way less detailed than the ES one, even the axolotl has another mold and its head look so bad on the KX version!! The whole appeal of G7 was that they brought back the original G2 molds :( I really hope they keep the old molds and that they don't replace ES pets by KX pets later
I get that basic fun and the stores probably wanted to stop people from destroying the displays to steal the display pet. However if the only way they can prevent that is by using SUPER GLUE, they might as well not put a display pet in there at all. Nice video btw :D
So real girlie I got the purple llama twice and their DIFFERENT VARIENTS - when I was saw I was so shocked. One has TEAL eyes my other one has DARK BLUE. THE skin of one is lavendar while the other one is more purple. The heads are smaller than the other. I kept both because I like funky things but as an lps collector this shouldn't be happening of the low quality and cheap paint jobs 😢 LOVE U HONEY

I srsly think that fake lps has a lot better quality control rather than G7, not even fakes have as many misprints as G7. I wish they’d raise the price of the lps to get the quality under control. I’ve gotten chunky plastic residue stuck on a lot of my pets☹️

I prefer ES version over KX. I feel like that KX doesn’t have the correct coloring and isn’t painted right. I hope they keep making the ES version. Also I’m just starting to collect lps!
ES pets look better as a whole. Idk why people were so twitchy about squishy heads and grainy eyes, as for the most part, the eyes aren't that noticeable unless stareing at it super close. And as for squishy heads, why does it matter if the heads are squishy? It's not like people are squishing the heads for any reason when actually playing with or using them... For me, if the KX pets are gonna be used as a replacement for the ES ones, I will not be buying them. They all look worse, as the molds look fake as all hell, and just look bad as a whole. That's not even including the many paint errors.
Oh man, in all honesty i do prefer the ES coded LPS more than the KX ones, the printing is so much better! I really hope Basic Funds improve on the quality check and be more consistent on their LPS if not it'll be so difficult to regain the customers trust. 34:30 They were able to get the ES panda's body to match its head color for some reason too 🤔 but forgot how with the KX. There's also more depth and shine to the ES version's eyes giving it a much more bashful expression.
My first goat I unboxed did not have his muzzle painted, and I didnt even notice until I unboxed a second one (without any issues). 😅 I love them both, regardless.
I was SO excited for the new pets to come out. When they did and I spotted them in Five Below, my dad bought me two blind boxes. In box one I got a poodle and in box two I got a panda. The panda had a weird dirt spot, its head barely bobbled, and his head was super squishy.
don't get me wrong I'm super grateful that lps (g2) are back but this really annoys me, like AHHHHHHHHHH (I got one where the eye was like off completely! THE EYE WAS ON ITS CHEEK!!!!!!!!)
Personally the KX pets just look fake to me. I alr had a personal suspicion that basic fun was using the same manufacturers as the fake LPS bc of the flat ring on the bottom of the head. I can appreciate trying new things, but this has honestly made me less likely to want to continue to buy new LPS which sucks! I bought the first wave blind box and some sets which were disappointing, and with how things are progressing I’m just not super confident in buying them anymore :((
Personally the KX molds are a significant downgrade. Looking at the wolfcats side by side, the KX look like fakes 😭 I dont mind the grainy eyes because theyre glossy and accurate. If they change the paint to be actually removable via acetone, id give a point to KX bc if theres a misprint you can remove it. Idk
the kx eyes seem so… lifeless and cheap i genuinely do not care about the squishy heads or blurry eyes in the ES, the squishy heads litteraly dont effect anything at all and the slightly blurry but fuller eyes seem more pike the old pets and have more personality
Gluing my boy to the plastic is understandable but I feel like there’s a better way. When wave one came out, a target worker let me take the Himalayan cat from the display and that was super sweet of them. It also feels like a waste because then the display pet will have a higher chance of getting thrown out
i got the goat and the wolfcat, and their eyes look like they're stamped on (kx version), which made them look wonky, i was so disappointed, then i painted & varnished the eyes, and now they look like g2 pets, not qualitywise but as in looks
i was so excited for that pink wolfcat but mine had crooked eyes. no big deal, i was sad but i can just do an eye repaint. but the eyes do NOT come off, even with pure acetone and a nail file. at least they’re sturdy i guess 😭😭

probably not enough ppl buying lps, in my target they put all the lps things on the highest part of the shelves, so it would be impossible for lil kids to even see and pick them to buy
I got a few a couple days ago and i got the rat or possums whatever it is lol, uhh the cat, the other cat, the pelican, and the brown dog and honestly they didn't look to good. I mean the pink cat, pelican, and the brown dog looked okay but like the others uhhh not so much! 27:48 Is it just me, or is the nose off center? The verticle line that should connect the mouth to the nose isn't even touching the nose . I can't tell if the nose was printed off center or if it's an issue with the mouth being molded in the wrong spot.
37:29 the one that i bought, i had gotten it in person from walmart with two or three blind bags actually inside it. the german shepherd wasn't actually *glued* inside it, it was just a pain to get out due to the thing holding it in place getting caught on the foot and tail, so this was a very weird and disheartening thing to see. the way they secured it in the one i bought would deter anyone from trying to steal it since they'd have to spend two hours finagling the pet to get it out, or bring something to cut it out, which i don't think is something people will do if they're the kind of person to steal little plastic animals. also, at 31:40, i have that one from the ES, and it looks completely different than the one you opened. the main color is more of a purple than magenta, the tan/beige is a bit darker, and the eyes are much easier on the eyes due to it not being so saturated. this whole debacle is incredibly sad to see, especially since i was late in collecting the older lps as they weren't in stores when i started. very disappointing from a collector's perspective 😟
I’m sure that when printing on eyes, markings, etc onto LPS it really helps to have a softer head. The rock hard head is sure to result in offset eyes, markings, etc. Unless the tool used to print is hard or soft, idk.
Bowie didn't have two different colored eyes though...He did not have heterochromia. He had an eye injury, which made his left pupil permanently dilate and affected how his iris appeared.
workers never let me take the display pet out even though theres literally no more blind boxes inside of it, just stingy fr when they r just gonna throw it away for a new display box
i really wish they went back to muted colors, even when the paint job is good, if the colors look off it just ends up looking like the awfully produced fakes😓
I got the seagull from a blindbox and my biggest gripe was the seams. It was clear the plastic bled a bit and wasnt fixed. I could use an exacto to fix it but I shouldn't have to cut my own pet.
I purchased 3 of these blind boxes and I got the purple cat and pomeranian which were so good, but my third one, the cheezy iguana, had the same issues with totally sideways wonky eye printing!

Gluing them in is annoying :/ bc my favorite gamestop employee gives me the display pets for free so this is saddening, luckily she got me one of the dogs before they started Gluing them maybe? But that is a bummer..

It can be also a marketing strategy. BasicFun know that collectors would prob buy the ES pet but also the KX pet since they have major differences. They will now get x2 sells per person rather than only 1. This is a common strategy that compagny do.
Hello LPS Honey thank you for sharing this video, I only a few minutes in the video. I recently got 6 new LPS pets in my small LPS collection. 3 Wave 2 Blind Boxes from Target. And 3 pet nooks from Five Below Yesterday. This batch from the location Target were in great condition they all passed the bobble test with flying colors. The batch was 1312 KX ending in 91 is Purple axolotl, ending in 92 is the Scottish terrier dog, ending in 94 is the orange lizard. Now with the nook pets these were from Wave 1 pets rereleased into single nook sets. I got the pink axolotl, the gray wolfcat, and the rainbow toucan, I was able to fix most of my wolfcat's factory error paint on her tail and on her white muzzle. Now it looks like she has a beauty mark instead of piant smudges from factory error. The rainbow toucan beautful paint job very subtle factory error on the back of head was able to get off with magic eraser. Pink axolotl had a pink paint factory error on right eye and on the face was able to get some of the paint off with magic eraser. This batch endnd in KX. The Wolfcat I got is beautiful paint job despite the factory errors, she is now 99% better.
iv decided to not even bother with gen 7 pets. the quality of the ones i got are WAY worse than any in this video... im talking eyes on the forhead and burn marks on the plastic... its so disappointing bec only the pets you cant see in aka blind box pets, are the ones with bad quality...

I recently bought some of these mystery boxes, some of the paint was indeed splotchy and in the wrong area’s but I can defiantly attest to the second unboxed monkey is the more official one bc it looks similar to the one I got
My wolfcat that I was so excited to get arrived broken :( their head wasent evan attached to the body! And the peg wouldent fit becuse the bottom didn't have the hook!!
I haven't had the chance to get many in this new wave (only 1 actually, in blind box, and I ordered the advent calendar but I'll discover that in September and personally I felt a bit disappointed by these new blind boxes. I got one out of curiosity without seeing the line before and got #71. And after checking the collection list, I don't know, I felt a bit disappointed. There's something about their colours that is off somehow, and even though (without looking too much at the details) I like of their bigger sets (and I ordered the advent calendar too), I just feel like 1st wave blind boxes pets were better, but that might just be me
I find it interesting that your German Shepherd was glued down, mine wasn’t it was simply tied with those paper ties, i think this is because your box was KX while i know the box is got my German Shepherd ES. So it seems wherever they’re manufacturing the KX pets, the factory glues down the display pet while the ES displays are not glued down. I will add though my Display German shepherd had eye paint missing and my purple Lucky cat had so much glue residue on it. So it seems issues are arising with ES pets too
The purple cat you got has better printing than my es version of it.. which I do find funny. I guess I just have bad luck.. also, in my country.. they are packed in plastic, instead of being blind boxes.. which I do find kinda.. wierd?
I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this, but several on my pets right after opening have smudges on them almost like markers? Not to mention my wolf cat has black paint marks on the back of the ear
I prefer the KX pets so much personally because I got ES pets once and the paint job was awful, the eyes were blurry, they had dirt and scuff marks on them and I cant stand the feel of the plastic they use for the heads

My main thing i don't like about the cheaper ones is the eyes they lost that glossy look.

Where I live Es is a cheaper price. And Kx is a little pricer. But still affordable. I haven't had any issues with Kx. The Es is not too bad either.

I don't know, what was wrong with the ES eyes. Based on the LPS in this video, I very much prefer the ES productions. KX just looks cheap overall.

Something i noticed bc me and my sister have a blue light/colored lights in our room the lps body pairts glow in the dark!

What I really hate about the kx pets is the eyes, they’re always drifting outside the eye socket and the irises are messed up
My wolfcat that I was so excited to get arrived broken :( their head wasent evan attached to the body! And the peg wouldent fit becuse the bottom didn't have the hook!!
I haven't had the chance to get many in this new wave (only 1 actually, in blind box, and I ordered the advent calendar but I'll discover that in September and personally I felt a bit disappointed by these new blind boxes. I got one out of curiosity without seeing the line before and got #71. And after checking the collection list, I don't know, I felt a bit disappointed. There's something about their colours that is off somehow, and even though (without looking too much at the details) I like of their bigger sets (and I ordered the advent calendar too), I just feel like 1st wave blind boxes pets were better, but that might just be me
I find it interesting that your German Shepherd was glued down, mine wasn’t it was simply tied with those paper ties, i think this is because your box was KX while i know the box is got my German Shepherd ES.
So it seems wherever they’re manufacturing the KX pets, the factory glues down the display pet while the ES displays are not glued down.
I will add though my Display German shepherd had eye paint missing and my purple Lucky cat had so much glue residue on it. So it seems issues are arising with ES pets too

The purple cat you got has better printing than my es version of it.. which I do find funny. I guess I just have bad luck.. also, in my country.. they are packed in plastic, instead of being blind boxes.. which I do find kinda.. wierd?
I noticed that any of the next release of new wave 2 g7 lps with the 2024 print at the bottom feel and look fake for some reason (most of them)
I opened all those LPS and when I open this donkey that had to feel like plastic
I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this, but several on my pets right after opening have smudges on them almost like markers? Not to mention my wolf cat has black paint marks on the back of the ear
People were stealing them because the throw the display pets away
the KX pets looks SOOOOO much worse ugh :(
That's probably why most of them are faulty because they wanted to produce a lot at the same time
G7 wave2 pet quality is fr soo bad bro..
I prefer the KX pets so much personally because I got ES pets once and the paint job was awful, the eyes were blurry, they had dirt and scuff marks on them and I cant stand the feel of the plastic they use for the heads
My blue owl is miss printed and it’s so noticeable😢
I really hate the fact that the lps is superglued, poor doggy is gonna get thrown away or somthin. 😢
Fr they always come with black marks on them too and missing paint
I have the pink cat and it’s Paul is not colored so I don’t know if that’s how it’s supposed to be

I had an alpaca/lama i just got and it looks so fake, tbh i think they rushed wave 2 because it came out way quicker then the first wave
