wmg reaction review lars
RIP Wayne. Static-X is one of my favorite bands, really unique and Wayne is a metal legend IMO.
Lens Hunter Yes same here
Glad I went out to see them again when they came through KCMO one last time just before.
Yo, Alex! Check out Wisconsin Death Trip by them when you return to Static-X for another listen.
And Tera, his widow who died not long after he died.
Met them at one of the ozz fests....nice dudea
Yeah he's still awesome after death!
Wayne static was one of the best the metal family had! He is deeply missed
Definitely
One of the best metal vocals of all time. So original in tone.
Someone in a comment section sed evil disco describes his music and I can't unsee it
You nailed the meaning right on head. Wayne wrote about how drugs were eating him from the inside. He was a good friend and a great guy.
The song is literally about pooping. Wayne has said it himself on numerous occasions. I met a chick who dated him for a while, he was a weird guy and had a weird obsession with fecal matter.
@@jbelisle1986 wtf are you talking about?
@@jbelisle1986 in the song, the lyrics are "i see it, i need it. yea, you push it". this is a reference to the drugs he wants and the person who is going to get them for him. his dealer or PUSHer".
@@jbelisle1986 I think you're thinking about love dump.... He had a girlfriend who wanted to see his shit after he used the bathroom, he mentioned that in an interview.
@@lonnierh0dgejr41 the lyric is actually "yeah you poo shit"
Wisconsin Death Trip is still one of my all time favorite albums. Every song is awesome. Great bodybuilding music as well!!
It’s such a banger album
It really is a great album and it still holds up for me after all those years. It's heartbreaking that Wayne passed away, but I think they're doing a great job of keeping Static-X alive.
Rip Wayne Static, the dude created some really cool stuff!
Triple M the man who introduced me to metal... Wayne Static... RIP...
Static-X was my first concert, I got to go off roading with Wayne one weekend too, super cool guy
one of my first metal bands too. Rip Wayne.
Yes! Rest In Peace Wayne!!
Seriously love this band to this day. Was super bummed when I learned of Wayne's passing and of his wife's a few months later.
Static-X along with Fear Factory, Cradle of Filth and Unwritten Law were literally my teens in a nutshell. Awesome music!
Michelle lee For me it was Static X, Mudvayne and Slipknot.
Can't remember Unwritten Law tbh but Fear Factory and Cradle of Filth were good.
Same.. ah the good old days... cradle for me was such an amazing band
Michelle lee you will hate me, i saw COF here in Sweden when i was younger, got a COF flag signed by ALL of them. Lost it several years back.. 😥
Michelle lee, Statix-X, COF and Unwritten Law... Say you like Jimmy Eat World, Sum 41 for example and I LOVE you!
fear factory, hell yeah...
You should react to Static-X I'm with Stupid.
He should
such a good song lmao
@@gildrop and an awesome video!
Cobb Knobbler, yes those are one of the rare albums on my Ipod where instead of downloading 5 or 6 songs, you don't even hesitate to download the whole thing. In fact I think thats pretty much Static-X's whole library!
@Cobb Knobbler yep me too, I saw them at a theater with a capacity of about 300 people. It was fucking awesome!
Static X was one of the best bands ever. Wayne Static was taken far, far too early and this world is a worse place without his talent. Peace my brother.
STATIC X - THE ONLY !!!!
Yassss finally R.I.P Wayne. Miss static so much. Evil disco for life. One of the best.
RIP Evil Disco. Static-X was an eye-opener for me back in the day. First band I saw live in college, just before the release of their second album. Wayne Static is sorely missed.
Wayne Static died November 1st (?) 2014 of a drug and alcohol overdose.
Some of his songs are indeed about drugs. He has a video he made with his wife Tara (ex-pornstar) that shows how he lived. Police had to break through his home because everyone thought he was gone. When they broke into the house, they found Wayne partying and doing drugs.
He had a time where he was clean, but when he died he was drinking a lot and having some anti-depressing type pills.
His wife died 2 years later. She killed herself because of the depression she carried since Wayne's death.
Brother, if you want to really know some song about drugs, check Alice In Chains. Compare the lyrics of these songs: Real Thing, Junkhead, Would?, Angry Chair, Down In A Hole and Again.
Through these songs (and many more) you see Layne's point of view about drugs changing. He went from the "Heroin and Cocaine are good" to "I'm dying because of Heroin and Cocaine"
He passed away April 5th 2002, bring found only 2 weeks after his death. Layne died of an overdose, by mixing Heroin and Cocaine.
2 of many great musicians that we lost to drugs.
Did you know that Wayne's wife was so heartbroken that she committed suicide 💔😢
I didn't know she died. So sad.
She seemed to be his problem though. His band mates couldn't stand her. She inserted herself into everything. At least that's what I recall from years ago.
@@jackoff1826 You recall correctly. Tera was Static-X's Yoko. And she's the one that got Wayne back on the pills and booze. The pills he overdosed with were prescribed to her.
Dude you have no idea what your talking about get your facts straight.
Static x - the only
yeaaa thats a badass song
They dont get enough credit for how good the Shadow Zone album actually is.
That whole album was badass
Great song
Yessss please!
I still can't believe that he passed away three years r.i.p Wayne & tera static gone but not forgotten
It's been 3 years? time flies
Bruh, the entire Wisconsin Death Trip album is fucking amazing...
You gotta do "Cold" next! It's my all-time favorite song from them!
Omg yes × 1,000,000!!!!!!!
Cold is slow and boring. Thats like 1 and only song that I dont like from Static X. Its like "The Only" ,the only song from album Shadow Zone that is slow and obviously made for radio or tv album representations. But all other songs on that album....masterpieces of Static X.
Premonances is my shit and get to the gone
aljosa raketic you're saying "the only" is the slowest song on shadow zone haha. Did you forget about "So" it's slower than "The Only"
I think same
Rip Wayne Static. Yes it is about drugs, it took his life and very shortly after, his beautiful wife took her own life😢 you really should check out there song Wisconsin death trip. It is my absolute favorite.🤘Metal on Alex
Jeniffer M Hullinger Such a FANTASTIC SONG!! It is my favorite song as well...nice call on that one 👍
Static-X - The Only!!
R.i.p Wayne..
Love this reaction.
It's straight up bang on..
You called Wayne's look fire.
One of the most coolest looks and image in metal and you called them unique..he and them absolutely were..
Don't forget Alex..the day that never comes by Metallica live in niems France...
It's made for you bro..
RIP Wayne Static! One of the most uniquely talented frontmen in metal history! \m/
I was lucky enough to see them OzzFest 2000. Such a good show
Holy shit! I haven't even thought of static x in years! Blasphemy! RIP Wayne \m/👊
R.I.P. Wayne
RIP Mr. Wayne X!
The band is so special because they use rather simple but extremely catchy guitar riffs. In my opinion the best metal band!
I saw him on his last tour. It was such a small and intimate set. One of my most memorable concerts I've been to
Static-X - The Only
Love Static-X RIP Wayne!!!
There was no doubt that static x and Wayne Static we're truly bound for greatness!!! R.I.P Wayne Static!!!
I thought I was going to die in a Static X mosh pit at the Metropol in Pittsburgh about 23 years ago. (I think it was the summer of '99) Some huge dude knocked me down and i saw bodies closing in above me. Then about six different hands grabbed me and pulled me back on my feet. I did get a broken rib through.
The show was Dope, Static X, and then Fear Factory. It was a good show, and the first time I'd heard Dope.
Static X - Bled For Days
Yes please.
Truly one of the most original industrial metal bands.
Among my favorite bands, been a huge fan for 20 years. I’m super stoked to hear people like you loving the song and showing it love. Rock on bro!!!
I love Static! They were by far the best band to see live. My heart broke when Wayne passed away.
Wisconsin Death Trip... One of my favorite albums! I miss these guys!
capoocha
Static-X is my favorite, and I live in Wisconsin... META FAN!
"Destroyer" is my favorite Static-X song. You should peep that.
John Locke same!!! Song has a different type of energy I swear!
Destroyer and dirthouse is my favorites
I have to say man, I love watching your videos. Watching your reactions as you discover these bands for the first time totally takes me back to the time when I was doing the same thing. Glad you can appreciate what it's all about.🤘
RIP to Wayne and all the other icons we've lost.
Legends never die. Ever. Their spirit lives on in their music and fans!
Static X is one of the most Nostalgic bands. I remember my dad blasting this in the boat back in like 2000 or something oh man gotta love Nu Metal!!!
OHMYGOD!!!! You finally found static-x! PLEASE DO MOAR! This was my sh*t in high school. Some of their really good songs are The Only, Start a War, New Pain.... man there are a lot!
Keep it up bro!
I like that you are just now finding all these songs man. I've been listening to like 80% of what you make videos about since I was around 11-13. Im 30 now...
Dude this is my favorite channel. Every cool ass song you review.
Static X - The Only! 🤘
If you're feeling the Industrial Metal type of sound check out Fear Factory as well. I'd personally suggest their songs "Archytype" or even "Linchpin" though I'm sure others might have some other suggestions that'll be good too.
SELF BIAS RESISTOR is must hear Fear Factory. IMHO.
Dude I’ve been pulling for Zero Signal forever, but any non-Transgression or Industrialist FF will. I’m pushing more now because Static-X’s bass player Tony Campos is playing for FF now.
Starting point has to Self-Bias Resistor.
Fear Factory is on my all time favorite bands........id say he should start with ressurection edgecrusher or shock
Yesssssssssss Ive been listening to Archetype heaps lately
Love your reaction. StaticX is probably one of the best, less-known bands out there. Almost all of their music is intensely talented and unique like this.
What a foreboding interpretation of the lyrics. That takes true empathy. You're a good dude Alex.
Was fortunate to see static x live, RIP to the homie Wayne Static. Great video brrrrruh!
do Loco by Coal Chamber
'Loco', hell yeah!
'Big Truck' was also excellent.
Yea! That would be awesome
This tune sounds awfully like them actually I wonder how influenced who?
Hell yeah you about 30 yrs old you know loco
MatronCity .JockJamJesus fuck yeah
Finally! Thanks for reviewing Static-X!
It's intense, insane, and so hyped that's why I love them for so many years
RIP Wayne Static.
Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama
Yeah, it's time for some soilwork
If he seems to like the “solos” of songs I think something off of The Living Infinite. Maybe Tongue.
Been asking for Soilwork for a while now. Hopefully soon.
Great idea. That or nerve.
Gotta love swedish melodeath!
If you’re going to do static x you got to check out “ cold”. It’s from the queen of the damned soundtrack
Philip B
I love that damn song.
actually it's on the album Machine by Static-X then was put on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack
James Clancy Jr it is but the music video he would watch is from Queen of the damned
Philip B I understand that but I was just correcting you and letting him know what album it is on not just the movie it's in
You should listen to Powerman 5000 - When Worlds Collide
looooove that song!
His voice naturally come out like that, its nuts, I knew hime when he was alive, so nice and chill and down to earth
Static X: I'm With Stupid!!! Do that one soon!
White Zombie - More Human than Human
yes! The song about blade runner!
Love your vids!! Keep it up man :D
Listen to "Black and White" by Static-X, same heavy vibe as this. It's from the Terminator soundtrack & they even did a music video with the band being Terminators. It's epic dude, check it out!
Hanger 18 - Megadeth you will be soo amazed at the guitar work in it.
React to Helloween - I want out. Helloween is a band that appeared in the mid 80's, have a sound that refers to Iron, Judas Priest and other bands of the time. Highlights include vocalist Michael Kiske who reaches sharp and extensive notes with extreme ease, and lines of melodic guitars. This song in question portrays how much we are suffocated in different spheres of coexistence within society, and there comes a time that we really "want to get out".
I never imagined that I would enjoy watching someone discover great music so much. Static-X, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Rage, System, etc.
Welcome to the world of modern classical music young man. It’s good to see you having your eyes opened.
Love when people appreciate music. I have listened to everything over the decades and have favorite songs from every genre.
STATIC X - THE ONLY
3:42 Just straight up STOPPED head banging... right into "dis-approving Dad face!" Ha ha ha! 😂😆😆
Tru tho! haha
RoySFord sounded like an edit.
thank you to have me find this song!
First major concert I ever went to was static x at the state theater(now the Fillmore) in Detroit. Great band. Incredible small venue.
Do Cradle Of Filth - Nymphetamine
Yaaaaaassss!!! Thank you for doing this on bbbruh! Straight back to my teens on this, RIP Wayne Static, you are missed
Travis Fisher broooooooooooooooo I have been waiting for a person who doesn’t know METAL to find this band I am so lucky I got to see them live on their last tour. I cried for days when I heard that Wayne passed away. @Alex Hefner Wayne Static is the bro with the best hair style ever. You just got mad brownie points from me. I have been asking VinandSori to check this Band out. Keep up the good work and have a dope ass day. P.S. check out Vimic Please they are a new band started by one of the best Metal Drummers of all time. You will flip when you find out who I’m talking about.
Dillon Gilbert saw them at Ozzfest in 07, fucking amazing \m/
I love that every video starts "hope y'all are having a dope ass day... I am BACK *slap* with another reaction"... I literally mime along with every video lol
I remember when this song came out. I was in my late teens back then. This has always been one of my favorite heavy metal songs and bands. I ended up buying all of their CDs back in the day when we all listen to CDs. They also make for great workout music because their music makes me push it harder and harder at the gym/ exercise.
SO SO SSSOOOOOO HAPPY you reacted to this band 🤗🤗🤗
Vulture 1 i know ive been requesting this for so long haha
Alex, you have just made my whole month. This is my first and forever favorite metal band. My most prized possession is a guitar pick from these guys. Perfect song choice, thank you my friend.
Thanks Alex. Thanks to your channel I'm rediscovering bands that I stopped listening after I went to college.
Type O Negative - Black no.1 full version
That'd be epic. Or Christian Woman would be badass too.
More Static X. Loved it!
Much respect for your outlook on drug addiction, & having some Emo athletic insight. As a recovering addict, I appreciate this.
Static X is a band from the state of Michigan from Kalamazoo, my dad and him were pretty close back then. I remember one day back in 2003 I met him when my dad brought me to what over me when I was just 5. I remembered it vividly
Coal Chamber LOCOOO
Patryk Patryk I think he'd love it... plus he could do follow up videos on devildriver
Entwined El cu cuy and that one step forward 2 steps back song are some of my faves
Patryk Patryk I have a CC story..
I was in a big block of shops .kinda cool shops off the wall kind of place here in Manchester England called afflecks palace..
And the chick from coal chamber was in there in a record shop..
I was just chatting away for five minutes before I clicked who she was..she thought it was funny...
And this was.
Jeeeez about 1998 if memory serves.
That's my cc story..
And they are a wicked band..so under the radar from back in the day..
Good call my friend.
Devildriver would be cool
Fuck yes!
Oh man. You just took me back to drives to high school with my homies. If you throw in some fear factory (edgecrusher) then it would be complete. Glad you liked!
One of my favorite bands of all time.this group was extremely influential to my metal upbringing.
2019 and still good to hear .... Gold never gets old .... RIP Wayne, your music will always b in my playlist, thank you .....
React to their awesome song "I'm with stupid" as well
I know I probably won't get many likes on this but PLEASE PLEASE listen to a band called powerman 5000. They are also industrial and his hair is better :P I was into powerman before static x and I really think you'll like them. Also keep it up with the metal music, it's fucking awesome 💀 ♥ 💀
If you are interested listen to a song called when worlds collide :)
Great song!
He's also Rob Zombie's brother 🙂
kydeface which makes it even better :D ♥
I'm pretty certain I first heard them on Daria lol. Very underrated band though. I used to jam to that song while playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater haha. Simpler times. I'd prefer Nobody's Real or Supernova Goes Pop though.
Fun fact: Wayne Static was originally from a little town called Shelby, Michigan. I used to mow the yard of the house next where his parents lived.
Wayne Static brought a ton of energy to everything he did! R.I.P. Wayne
It's actually cool that you can open up metal songs to metalheads who don't know those certain songs
My 4 year old is bouncing around to this...too cute!!!
For industrial
Save yourself-Stabbing westward
Hurt or the hand that feeds-NIN
Du hast or Somme-Rammstein
i was in the gym hitting a push day when this song came on my apple music the first time.
i didnt even realize the power increase til the song ended and i immediately just replayed the shit idk how many times!
Papa Roach - Between Angels and Insects (uncensored version)
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score
Hands down my favorite band ever. Been watching your vids impatiently waiting for Static X to show up, was bound to happen, they don't have a single bad song.
This song gets me so pumped I listen to it when working out
RIP Wayne, please react to Static X - I'm with stupid. Little trivia for you, Wayne Static was in a band with Billy Corgan (smashing pumpkins) back in chicago in the late 80's called Deep Blue Dream.
Wisconsin Death Trip was my first Metal album i ever bought and is still in my top 5 favorite Bands and Album of all time R.I.P. Wayne your music will love on forever.. also try Static-X All in wait in your spare time, Your Welcome lol
My first metal concert was Static-X and Fear Factory at Harpos in Detroit. I never heard of Static-X before and my first reaction was that hair is awesome!
And hey man if you're a Linkin Park fan AND you're a Static X fan, you gotta check out "It's Going Down". It's a collaboration between them which is just nuts.
Wayne actually didn't record the guitar tracks for that song, it was Mike shinoda. He asked Wayne to be in the video though. It also wasn't linkin Park, it was Mike's side project the executioners
Saw these guys twice as ‘supporting artists’ and both times they were better than the headline band! Such an underrated band, glad you’ve done them.
Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars (Live rehersal at sonic pump studios).
Martin Broända good choice
Man Alex your videos always entertain. Wayne was a hell of a musician. Made some trail blazing with his style. Static X was in their own league in so many ways
I'm 54 and part of Gen Xers. I live for hard rock music. I just found this song a couple of weeks ago. Bad ass song. I'm driving my wife crazy with this band.
I forgot how much I love this song until now.
Listen to their whole 'Wisconsin Death Trip' album. You won't regret it!
