- Chris Adams has just moved to San Francisco to forget about his past life and turn over a new leaf. He moves into a studio with a seemingly nice roommate, Jake Ross. The two young city boys hit it off celebrating with a drunken night in the new flat.

I could be completely off on this. But I imagine as a work of cinematic art is that each and everyone is to take their own interpretation and see how they feel about this. My interpretation was that it doesn’t matter whether you are gay, men, roommates, attracted to each other, or whatever the situation may be. Rape and attempted rape can happen to anyone at any time and is still unacceptable. And shouldn’t be taken lightly because it is or can be traumatizing. I could walk around naked feeling aroused, it doesn’t give someone else the right to jump me and try to force themselves upon me. What did you guys take from this piece?
I thought it might turn rapey but then he says "faggot" and leaves the bed angry. This makes me think hes struggling with his sexuality. Hes always concerned with his outer appearance and likely views being gay as being a negative thing. I think it's someone self diagnosing his problems with alcohol and then his feelings explode outwards. His roommate doesnt return the love because he knows he's just super fucked up and he wont ever actually feel anything for him sober due to his issues

I think the piece has brought to light that they both took advantage of the situation. One pretending that the alcohol has his inhibitions so far gone that his memory is weak while the other removing any form of evidence that could be held against him. Sadly they both remember obviously, but care to not ruin the dynamic they already share so they pretend the moment cease to exist.

It's the smart move. I learned the hard way when I was in college never sleep with your drunk straight friend. It does not end well. You won't be friends anymore. Your other friends will wonder why you're so awkward suddenly. He'll start avoiding you and then show up drunk between girlfriends expecting you to be a booty call.

I know it's turned ambiguous now, but I do prefer that people keep the distinction between a 'boy' and a man relevant - gay or straight. Putting that aside, you have got just the right actors for these roles because they actually can act and you have a very good script, and this whole episode flows naturally. Chris is now living in a somewhat risky situation - and so is Jake thanks to that camera, but Chris at least has all the information about his risk as well as Jake's, to evaluate them both. If I were either of them, I would seek a new roomate. At the very least, they simply cannot live together and have alcohol flowing around and that needs to a red line. Jake's got problems that somebody else -not named Chris, needs to help him solve
