- Hi guys! It's that time of year again when I get my annual haircut and perm at Days Salon in Hongdae. I tried something a little different this time though and I'm happy with the results :) Alllllso I'm talking a little bit more in detail about self studying Korean again and its a bit messy in the vid but I hope to set up a good routine again and share it with you in the future! Either way, I'm sending love as always from a hot and humid summer Seoul. See you again sooooon~

I’m also learning Korean right now, is funny what u said about learning with Infinite cause If I can’t learn a word I look for videos of Exo members pronouncing it 😅 and then magically I retain the word in my brain. The best teachers are Kpop idols.

I feel the exact same way about studying Japanese - I did a year at university as my major (in England so it was like balls to the wall constant) over 10 years ago and I still retained enough that figuring out where to start is hard because basic is too basic but intermediate makes me realise I’ve forgotten a lot….but then if I start from basic again I get bored and tired 😩 Feel u babe

16:08 as A German I know this!! It‘s officially called Baader-Meinhof phenomenon (or Frequency illusion). It‘s when you learn something new and suddenly start hearing/seeing it everywhere, in seemingly higher frequency than before! I find it‘s especially prevalent when learning languages, so trippy with new words 😅 lovely vlog as always ❤️

What I like about learning different languages is how uniquely some things can be described but are "lost in translation" when you try in another language. Consistency and repetition really works for me when I'm studying with some breaks to let everything set in. Also the new hair is a good length and is looking good !
repetition is totally key! i still remember random grammatical rules from my freshman spanish classes because of the songs we'd sing to remember them hahaha

I swear delving into the more fun stuff like webtoons/dramas/tv shows is actually important because it’s naturally more interesting and you are far more motivated to look up words (like 창문닦이 웃음 LOL😂) so it’s so awesome that you’re getting into it! I find the subtitles/sfx text in those kpop/variety shows so helpful too haha~😆 (and sorry side note, that DBSK photo LOL omg those were the days~😂)

It's reaaaally funny (and even has a fandom itself - Cubics) and honestly I noticed that my Korean skills have improved since I started watching it so maybe it could help you as well😊

When I was learning English a couple of years back the thing that helped me stay motivated and on top of my game was a study buddy!
Having someone with similar goals work with you will not only keep you motivated but it will in a way force you to put in that effort because you don’t want to disappoint that person.
You’ll both keep each other motivated and you’ll have someone to practice with!
