See, this is why I love this channel. It makes me the most popular story-teller anywhere I go. I guarantee that nobody else at the next cocktail party is going to have heard about the Great Alaska Fur Seal Heist.
Wow, what a great story and a great telling of it! I don’t know how you find this stuff, but the combination of history, conservation, and the real passion behind your storytelling is what makes this channel so good. Congrats on the sponsor too, some people will complain but it’s just a sign your channel is growing and you’re getting the means to reach more people. Best vid so far
I have been a subscriber since you had less than 130 subs and you make some of the most interesting park essays that I watch every one! You deserve more than triple the subscribers you have!!!
Well there you go, congratulations on your successful inward journey. From a retired Therapist to an ex-Therapied we have found the excellent nexus for we both love the Nat'l Parks. You have no idea the times I only wished I could take my client to a Nat'l Park for our sessions - they had to settle on a county/municipal park instead. Love the channel - keep at what you do to help keep those Park's alive in all of us who've had life changing experiences in them.
With mega-trawlers that act like floating cities capable of wiping out entire ecosystems, it's not hard to imagine what's impacting their food supplies.
ok that’s a high quality intro also I feel like the decreased caloric density of the ocean up there is definitely due to climate change (warmer waters support less life) and overfishing :/
I’d like to recommend you learn more about the people from the lands in your videos. That was an interesting story, but you mispronounced the name of the Indigenous folks who live there, which a quick google search would have answered. Important to understand that the US government forced Unangax people to hunt seals in harsh and desperate conditions. That early marine preserve was essentially an American slave colony a century after emancipation.

I love your videos but ditch your sponsor please
His channel doesn’t get hundreds of thousands of views per video. People have to eat and pay rent.
