I made this yesterday for dinner, after simmering it for 25 minutes , I stirred it and added raw large shrimp on top , covered it and simmered again for 6 minutes and it was absolutely perfect, amazing recipe, thanks for sharing this !
Gotta be honest- everything you make truly is FIRE! My kids think I'm an iron chef making all these things. They have no clue that you're the one making me look like a genius! Thank you and keep your recipes coming!
AB you are a blessing to me. My husband did all the cooking during most of our marriage because I was in school and taking care of our son. Fast-forward many years later and with more time on my hands now, I've discovered that I LOVE to cook. Thanks for showing me the way. Keep the good food coming!!!
I made this recently. A few improvements I would make. 1. Brown your chicken and sausage separately so you actually get a sear instead of poaching the chicken. 2. If you don’t have a Cajun seasoning blend add paprika along with the thyme and cayenne. 3. I added shrimp to mine too, that’s just how I do my jambalaya 4. Hit it with some Tabasco, adds that good spice and some brightness from the vinegar. 5. Taste and salt each time you add a new ingredient to the pot, it makes it easier to judge the right seasoning than trying to do it all at once. Great recipe my man.
I've always browned up my meat in two batches, to get that extra flavor and keep from it poaching. I also like to toast my rice in with the veggies once they are softened, for the same reason. I add jalapeno to mine, as well as the tabasco, but I don't use tomatoes. I prefer a Cajun jambalaya to a Creole, but as far as Creole? This recipe looks amazing.
@@Meowtional he might just not like it too spicy. my momma don't put no cajun seasoning in hers when she makes it, but I use tony's and some extra cayenne.
Try caramelizing the onions for a few minutes first, that’s another great addition. Try adding some cayenne, since I don’t think he seasoned this at all. I’m sure his recipe is good, but there’s plenty of room for honing this recipe.
I really love the positive energy you radiate through the videos. Your cooking is great but I feel that you’re a good person because you’re so humble about these great meals you’re making and you just seem like such a peaceful and patient teacher. Thank you!
I used this recipe awhile ago and my family loved it. It was so good had the right amount of veggies and seasonings. I'm coming back to say I'm making it agian tonight.
I’m from New Orleans, and this is exactly the way I’ve been making it for a half a century! So good! Man when you’re hungry, can’t beat this! Some french bread, and a cold Dixie! Yeah!
When do you season it? I can’t find him seasoning it, I see his seasoning on top of the salt I just never seen him use it. When would you recommend putting in Cajun seasoning/spices?
Coming from a chef perspective, major props how you keep it organized, portion out, clean and in simple cooking terms for beginners. u da´ real deal AB!

Outstanding recipe! I made it tonight. Proportions are perfect. I didn't see when you added the creole seasoning...I added with the broth. Delicious. Added yellow pepper with green pepper, a pound of cooked shrimp, green onions, a few dashes of Tabasco. My coworkers will love me tomorrow. Thank you for sharing.
I have to thank you so much. I am from the UK, but my favourite food is Jambalaya, but we hardly ever get it here. Very few restaurants serve it or stores stock it. I followed your channel and this video to make it and it turned out beautifully. I served some to the kids who are nearly two and the other just over three not thinking they would like it. How wrong was I! They ate three portions of it, especially my nearly 2 year old daughter. So a massive hit and I'm so happy I can now make Jambalaya when I want it. Thank you!

Serious good recipe! So simple! What I really appreciate about your cooking demonstration is you don't WASTE anything. My late Mama taught us not to waste and I see a lot of that on youtube cooking. You use your fingers, spatula, whatever to get every little bit when you add your ingredients. Most other "chefs" just dump each bowl of ingredients and don't bother to get it all. Hurts to watch all that waste. You on the other hand, do it right, no waste! Great recipe, great technique, and great demo, sign of a true down home cook!~

Made this for supper last night. Darn good recipe that is and easy too. Was hungry later on so I had another helping room temp. It was good too! Leftovers for supper tonight. Looking forward to them - I added a little more water/broth when reheating...

Who would ever dislike a video from ab? THIS MAN KNOWS GOOD FOOD!
AB, love the channel and everything you're doing! I made this the other night for my family and they loved it. Great taste and easy as you ALWAYS describe. This is about the 4th meal or yours (so far) that I've made and haven't been disappointed at all.
Looks good! Didn’t see when you added the creole seasoning though.
Mee too
Yeah he skipped that step! I’m guessing with the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, that’s when I would throw it in.
Well as a cajun, we usually season our dishes twice. We season our meat when cutting it and again in the middle

Great video. Can't wait to try your Jambalaya recipe. Clear precise instructions and cooked from the soul....
Smokin' & Grillin' wit AB When do you add the seasonings?
Yea I just made this and I don’t think it has enough flavor and I’m like wait we didn’t use that much seasoning
I'm about to make it and I plan on adding the seasoning right after adding the chicken broth because I think that's the easiest way to spread it.
It being the seasoning

Hello AB,
Looks great!
our son only eats chicken and seafood (no beef or pork) do you think having the chicken thighs and then substituting chicken sausage is too much chicken and with no flavor of regular sausage will change the taste of the final product? Thanks
