- Here is the R179 Version of the Automated announcements for the A Line to 207 Street. February 10th marked the first day that 10 car versions of the R179 train entered passenger service on the A line. These are the announcements from the first day with the weekend transfers. Additionally, Washington Heights 168 Street on the 1 line is also closed during this time for elevator replacement and a new transfer announcement was added at 207 Street.
From Ozone Park - Lefferts Blvd , Queens to Inwood - 207 Street in Upper Manhattan via Fulton Express / 8 Avenue Express / Central Park West Experss.

There's only 27-28% of R46s on the A line so remember to keep your eyes open for the R211A which is replacing all R46s on the A,C,N,Q,W, and G unfortunately the delivery was halted due to the pandemic that's going on now. There's also a R211S which will replace all SIR R44s which will start next year 2021-2023
The R179 is mad loud that you can even hear it from in the video. And in real life when I was waiting for a C Train at 135th Street I heard an R179 from Edgecombe Avenue.
The transfer announcement at 207th Street sounds like somebody was talking into a metal trash can with poor acoustics.

Besides, why worry about how an announcement sounds when regular commuters do not give a damn about how the announcement sounds when the really care about having reliable service? It's been a minute since anyone heard about these, but were there any experimental announcements other than the 2 and 5? Did the 4, 6, 7 or F have them?
To my knowledge they were recorded for the 2 4 5 6 and 7
I recorded some other than the 5 I posted , I'll try and get a video out on that
Tbh the announcements sound boring for the 8th Ave line(Except the E). The Broadway line announcements are the best followed by the Lex Line and Canarise

It's supposed to say "This is an Inwood-207th Street bound A express train". MTA dumbasses keep shortening the announcements because of "dwell" time which is a bunch of complete bullshit

They didn’t announce the transfer to the Broadway 7th ave at 34th. Why is that
there was never a transfer between the two because of the next stop north. Both are on both ends of penn station but theres no free transfer
