In the UK, started riding on a Ninja 125. Recently passed my full bike license, 2 cyls just don’t do it for me, but the jump from a 125 to a 636 straight away was going to be crazy, the 4RR has answered my prayers, will be ordering as soon as we can here. Awesome review!!

@@ScoutsOut I know you're probably still in the break in period but I'm wondering how much faster this is than the Ninja 400 above 80 MPH. I ride in the mountains near Denver, add in the frequent headwinds and a bike tends to struggle a bit when it comes to passing a line of slow drivers.
The difference on highway trying to pass or split lanes if I was on the 400 going 80 there was no point in dropping to 5th gear as the power is weak that high in the rev. The difference on the 4rr would be you would have to drop 3 gears to get a strong pull.
I always wanted an inline 4. Ended up with a streetglide, sold it after about 3-4 years. Got the bike itch again. Being 39, I'm not sure i can fold myself up to ride a 600 supersport. It's looking like this zx4rr, maybe right up my alley!!!
It's about time one of the Japanese manufacturers remembered that "slow" bikes don't need to sound like lawnmowers There's a reason so many new riders here in Australia will buy a thirty year old CBR250 as their first bike because it actually sounds like a real bike
Those old 1990 CBR250's aren't that popular anymore. That you have to go back 15 years when the lams market was comparatively tiny than what it is today. Besides we are talking about junkyard bikes left over from Japan. Anyone with any sanity would keep well clear of that.
@@ThermicLight Gonna have to tell that to the dozen different blokes riding them around my town. Literally can't go to a single meet or up into the windy roads without seeing at least one, usually with L plates on it
@@QuakeGamerROTMG - Oh please. I remember when they were being sold, claiming only a few thound on the odometer, despite sporting rust spots on the frame. There is a reason why people on their L's buy them. And not because of the quality.
@@ThermicLight Yeah, not buying them because of the quality... on these thirty year old bikes that are still running despite most having gone over 100,000kms having the odometer roll back to 0 despite literally all of them having been crashed multiple times since they're learner legal and I very much doubt that an aluminium frame is rusting. Those bikes are absolutely bulletproof lmao what crack have you been smoking or are you a time traveller from 100 years in the future when they finally start to die?
Got mine yesterday. Really enjoy it. Definitely an upgrade to my ninja 400. I had trouble with the quick shifter but was trying to stay under 4K with it. I assume that was why. Other than that, I had no issues. Wish it didnt flash every gear past 4K except 6th. Annoying. Honestly, i think it felt more relxed handlebar wise than my old RS 660. Great review!
@JCab Vlogs if you have that kind of money to spend, I think the Aprilia has just a few more features that I liked better. One being cruise control. That is a nice thing to have. It also depends on the type of riding you will do. I would also sit on both because I believe the Aprilia has a slightly more aggressive riding triangle. For a first bike though, I would hate for a new rider to drop a $10K bike on the ground while learning to ride. Personally, unless you got the money, I would look at an R3 or Ninja 400. Once you master that, then I would look into the others. Don't forget the cost of insurance too!
Thanks for the video mate, nice one! Although I noticed you're closing the throttle on upshifts. The ZX4RR's quickshifter is designed for full throttle upshifts (and closed throttle downshifts) I'm pretty sure, so definitely look into that! :)
Thanks, yea after the unboxing the qs didn't get enabled so I was clutchless shifting a little in the vid. I adjusted the clutch and turned on the qs before I rode it home and it was amazing
Wow, what a bike buddy. It's great to hear the joy from you, just that and the sound of the bike say a lot about this bike🤩. Great video and thanks for sharing. Ride on and have a great weekend🤙
On the r7 it’s definitely a more aggressive seating position, the handle bars are also lower, the seat is also slightly higher then the zx4. Also if it says its got 78hp but only 24ish footpounds of torque then its only viable to own one in America or as a track bike, as in the EU that 78 will need to be restricted down to 47hp. And having 24lbs of torque (that might actually be less after the restriction) isnt worth having over an r7 or the cbr650r which even restricted is more then 60lbs of torque each
Im curious to see how it rides with full exhaust, sprockets and tune. Hit it right on the nose when he said a beginner supersport. Still think the 600cc is the best street class
As an owner of a ZX2R (19500rpm inline 4 screamer) and.. a multitude of cbr250rr's, who recently sold his 899 panigale and 600rr, im excited to drop cash on it
@Scouts Out interesting. I used to own an rgv250, most fun I ever had on a bike, especially on the twisteys, here in the UK. No big bike could match me. I might have to reevaluate my options.
I wouldnt stress out about the break in period. Theres an article about a motorcycle engine being broken in redlining the whole time versus gently riding and there were no differences. Enjoy the bike dont be scared about break in.
For me it's less about redlining and more about the metal flakes splashing up before the oil gets filtered and sent through the system. But that will probably happen no matter what, LOL
Engineers agonize over the length of time to restrict rpm and define a proper break-in procedure. If there was no difference the market would demand no break in mileage from manufacturers. BMW even has a restrictive rev limiter until it reaches a certain mileage.
I got my ZXR 400 when I was 18, almost 10 years ago. It has been my favorite bike ever since. Sporty, high revs and serious power without getting into trouble with the law. My ZXR 400 was a full-fledged supersports bike- is the ZX 4 RR too? What I noticed right away is the non-adjustable front suspension. What do you think?
Nice sounds like an awesome bike! yea the front fork only has 1 adjustment but I will say it's quite stiff and doesn't just sag like crazy on breaking, so far I like the suspension. The bike feels like a quality bike and so worth the test ride to find out if you like it or not
So after just watching the Fortnine video on engines... Which basically makes me a doctor of engineering... I have decided to come here and shit all over how you bought a bike with the wrong engine in it... And should have just got a Pinigale v4 instead... Hahaha Naa man Scout! That thing is BALLER!!!!Congrats mate! Looking forward to the Mods journey on this one!! :D
Awesome bike, glad they made it available. I've always been a fan of inline 4's since I started riding in the 80's. All Japanese brands had multiple size bikes and in different flavors. My first 4 cylinder was a Honda CB550 NIGHTHAWK With shaft drive and lots of chrome. It had an oil cooler but wasn't water cooled, so those 4 pipes were visible top to bottom. Back then Kawasaki was putting out the GPZ 550, and Suzuki the GS550 in that size class, soon after the 600's took over the spot and you could buy a 4 cylinder in 600, 750, 1000 from all brands plus larger sport cruiser models. I was surprised how little of them were available in the past few years compared to twins but I figured people had just moved on and didn't want them. Anyway my last bike was a 2003 FZ1 and I rode it for around 12 years before I sold it. I'm actually getting my old ass back in the saddle however and currently shopping smaller displacement bikes because I just don't need a liter bike anymore. I have had all kinds of motorcycles except the inline triple, but I'm seriously not even going to approach that 900 or so size. When I saw they were making this thing I got excited about possibly getting one, but it's nearly twice the price of the twins and around the price of the Z900, and Z900RS, I just don't think I want to spend that much for that little displacement. Here in the states we have gotten some interesting stuff over the years, but small displacement fours haven't been in the mix really. One of the first 4 cylinder bikes I ever rode was a buddies CB 350 four.. I think it was a 1973 model. Of course it was pretty slow but man did it sound good and was uniquely beautiful. Long live four bangers!
Thanks, i was really surprised when they finally announced this bike. Ive always wanted an inline 4 small cc. The price is steep for sure but the enjoyment I’m getting out of it… id buy it again in a heart beat
From Philippines here, got zx25r and I tell you. Wait till you change into full exhaust using SC project, using velo stacks.. Main issues on those zx25r and zx4rr would be the exhaust gaskets and its camshaft tensioner.
Nice dude thanks for the info, I’ve been waiting for the US to get an inline 4. I was so excited when the CBR 250RR came out and so sad when it didn’t get to US.
I’m glad to see another I4 bike on the market. I was getting worried that they were going to get phased out because of emissions laws. I know I4’s aren’t as torquey as twins but I just love the smoothness and sound of an I4. I’d love to get a CBR650R but they don’t sell the full power version I’m New Zealand (where I live) only the learner version which is limited to 45hp. It’s so stupid.
me to man the I4's are just amazing to listen to and ride but it sounds like they have hindered ours as well with 25 less hp. Looks to be a easy fix with a tune though
@@ScoutsOut Unfortunately it’s illegal in New Zealand to modify a motorcycle that is learner approved. Oh well hopefully Honda will just bring the full power version to New Zealand.
@@The.JZA. I feel your pain all too well. Australia only gets the neutered leaner version of the 650R too. Made even worse when their "new" 600RR is extremely far from a consumer friendly price 😢 Personally I am kind of holding out on the CBR750R or Yamaha R9 rumours.
do you research on the old zx4r and have a look @ p6 racing these bikes are absolute weapons the whole 400cc scene in the early to mid 2000 era was amazing with bikes that were way over developed to be just like there big brothers. its exciting to see we may be heading back that way with this little beast!

Looks nice , I would love to take it out for a test ride .But to buy one... well that's another story... at nearly 10K for a 400. I would really have to think about it, it seems nice for a good track bike tho.
inline 4 engine is more expensive than single or 2 beside this bike have 76/77hp wothout ram air it beat all other 400 and 500cc bike interms of straight performance and 50% 650 cc ,only you need to revv it alot like test rider said cos max power is at 14,5 k rpm in other hand you have calm bike at low rpm and animal at 12-13+k rpm atleast comapre to other 400 like ktm rc 390 cf moto 450 ninja 400 cbr 500 all those bike have better lowend torque than zx4 r but revv zx4 r and it would smoke all them with easy 🌪 👍🏻 beside good suspension and breaks so price i quees represents welll package 🤷🏻♂️👌🏻 stock fat bob 114 or fxdr at 1/4 mille you ask ? zx4 r smoke them too 😁👌🏻unless rider launch be katastrifallly weak and slow and he give them enough time to ride away at enough distance 👌🏻 with good launch fxdr or fb 114 have no chance 👍🏻
This is totally my next bike. I miss my 636. I am hoping to be able to start riding again in 2 years. I hope it will still be available then. My first bike was a Ninja 300 and I loved it and how flickable it was. I got a 636 a bit later and loved the sound, but I never really needed that extra power. This is exactly want I wanted.
Then I'd recommend a P2 for more practical performance. Sometimes as sweet as that I4 note is it's not always worth it. Particularly when concerning lower displacement engines.
@@ThermicLight I was thinking about an XSR700…. Until I saw that we are getting this mini-beast. I prefer the i4 feedback over the p2. I’ll be able to keep this thing in second or third and it will scream like a Banshee. Speed limit is between 45-55 in the areas I’ll be at. It is Houston so most people drive 60, so I won’t be in higher gears much.
thanks man I appreciate that. hard question as the 4rr is still so new im excited about it. I still think the r7 low torque will be more fun and usable day to day but the 4rr is more comfortable

@@ScoutsOut i thought so too, but heard today on high side low side that the USDM version was likely 56-58 hp, but they said they achieved it by limiting the revs, which didn't look to be the case during your ride.
Yes definitely! I really enjoyed my ninja 400 but this bike is on another level. Not sure about the insurance yet but in my experience it has been priced off of cc's so shouldn't be too bad.
@@ScoutsOut I think the insurance and what prices look like on the used market will make the difference...if they would have made it $7500 oh boy but 9+ I dunno ...and we still don't have turn by turn gps and Bluetooth call stuff like that
Does the USA get the full 76 (or so I heard) hp as the European market? I heard the US version would be dumbed down due to noise regulations... I heard about 55hp maybe.
Watching from Japan near Tokyo. Will be checking out how this is sold here now! LOL! Your review really cheered me up, as this bike will definitely attract more folk to bikes with the attributes you clearly spoke to! I am guessing this will sell really well here in Japan too! Quick question is tuning legal in the USA? Seems that your all itching to flash the ecu, swop out the sprocket’s and slip on an aftermarket exhaust. How does regulation view all that? Just asking! Enjoy your ride! I am!!! Love from Japan ❤ P.S. . *As of February 2, 2023, there is no information such as the release date in Japan, but it is planned.
Thanks I appreciate that! No, tunning is not legal here is the US it is mostly for track use and for people who are willing to risk the ticket. In American we're always trying to make a bike go faster rather than buying a faster bike. Chains and sprockets are legal to change but there are very few legal aftermarket exhausts.
Unlike California, here in the South Eastern US states, bike inspections consist of, lights, turn indicators, brake lever/foot brake actuating the brake light, and a horn check. No db tests or emissions tests. I know from modded experience.
I thought it came restricted and the buyer had to flash the ECU for the 74hp, also the airbox and exhaust after the ECU flash for the full 74hp experience.
Very cool definitely have to follow this. It is capable of 80ish hp although here in North America because of noise constraints etc it’ll be governed down to about 50hp.
I dont understand why they dont make these low end ''sportsbikes'' actually have a more aggressive riding position. It feels like a naked bike dressing up as a sportsbike. Yamaha however did it right with the R7. Actually a low end Sportsbike that feels like one.
Because this is a learning Inline 4 bike for beginners but if you want to take it to the next level as an expert rider you could always invest in aftermarket aggressive clip-ons and adjustable rearsets.
They can appeal to a wider consumer audience this way and the aftermarket will provide the rest so complete customization is easily doable. It’s a win for everyone instead of targeting only one group
I completely agree. A supersport should feel like a supersport. I don't mind the ergos on this bike thought and rear sets and a seat could potentially make it more aggressive.
I wanted this as my first bike. People are telling me no. I just wanted a weekend rider and something to occasionally drive to work. Work is 10 miles away. Would this be a waste for someone like me?
Straight rider error lol, adjusted lever and turned on qs in the parking lot before riding home... so much better and man is that up and down qs smooth
I can’t wait to see all the mods and what a full system will do. I have a 636 but man if this was around when I purchased my bike. I would’ve definitely chosen this bike.
Should be interesting when the tunes for these start to come out, to unrestrict them back to EU power levels (~80 hp). Edit: Not that what it currently makes is bad, but I think it's a hard sell knowing we're paying the same price for significantly less power than ther rest of the world. Otherwise, I think it's a compelling package. Edit 2: Just to clarify for anyone who hasn't been following this bike, the docs Kawasaki submitted to the NHTSA rate it at 56 hp -- we're not getting the full 80 hp from the factory in North America.
@@ScoutsOut Revzilla's Common Tread podcast said that the US and Canada bikes will be restricted to lower RPM to make them quieter. The UK bike will rev to 15k rpm and around 80hp.
@@ScoutsOut I'd love to hear that it's all good! They talked about it on this week's Revzilla podcast a bit, but I think until we get some dyno runs in, no one knows for sure.
Yea we shall see, it is really pricey but being able to use all of the power of it on the streets and still get that 600 sound and feel I'm really enjoying it so far
I don’t think the resale will be bad. It’s a unique proposition that appeals to a lot of people but the high price tag will put a lot of people off from buying it new. That’s going to see decent demand in the used market.
Dude add that suspension and quick shifter with auto blipper to a base ninja 400 and you be spending the same money. Not counting for brakes and 30 more HP. This bike is a deal.
we need to get the official HP numbers for the US version of this bike if its close to 80hp it will be a hit if its restricted to 58hp it will need a lot of tuning from the aftermarket
I’m not going to lie. That TFT on the 400 has me a little triggered, cause my 2022 zx 14r has a calculator display between two analog gauges. Now the analog gauges I don’t mind but that dang calculator screen. 😅

Are engine break in still really a thing? I know the manual says it but it also says other things that aren't always 100% true just more of a way for them to cover there butt if something goes wrong. Has anyone done a hard engine break in to see if anything really even happens because I bet it doesn't especially in modern engine. Like warming up your engine is for the carbs not the engine. Although that doesn't mean screaming a fuel ejected bike as soon as its turned on is good, but the bike is still rideable at low speed right away since the bike is well lubricated instantly and will actually get to operating temp faster.
It’s hard to say, revzilla did a good vid on it not mattering but i still feel that its important to very RPMs more than stay under a certain RPM. Most likely a CYA for the manufacturer
Being capped at 11,500 rpm in Canada... is it worth the $10,000+ price tag?? Same rpm limit as a ZX14r doesn't seem right to me. This bike is neutered before it even hits its power band here.

I felt the same way, I was so excited about the cbr250rr and bummed it didn’t come to America
That's awesome, perfect timing! You'll really love this bike!
Been riding 52 years. My 1976 Honda CB400F 4cyl.single cam was my Fun bike i loved it beyond my wildest dream and rode it 31000 just in 2 summers! In new england. That said i been waiting 48 YEARS FOR ANOTHER 400/4 BANGER,now its here!!!!!
Haha nice, such a fun and perfect bike for the streets in my opinion let me know what you think when you get one
I'm just so happy to see that the rumors of lower HP and redline for the US market were false. Looking forward to your more in depth review after break in and coverage of your mods.
Here’s hopin. My friend was notified by his dealership that his has arrived and that IT IS 56hp
this motorcycle is reving out to 16k rpm's and feels like more than 50hp. I appreciate you watching!
@@ScoutsOut thanks for the quick reply, so it seems like a significant difference. I'll have to keep my eye out for one of these at a local dealer.
I always wanted an inline 4. Ended up with a streetglide, sold it after about 3-4 years. Got the bike itch again. Being 39, I'm not sure i can fold myself up to ride a 600 supersport. It's looking like this zx4rr, maybe right up my alley!!!
Nice, it’s a fun bike and the extra comfort is a nice touch
It's about time one of the Japanese manufacturers remembered that "slow" bikes don't need to sound like lawnmowers
There's a reason so many new riders here in Australia will buy a thirty year old CBR250 as their first bike because it actually sounds like a real bike
Haha right! So glad they brought the small cc inline 4 back to the US
Those old 1990 CBR250's aren't that popular anymore.
Back to the 90s. With modern tech. It's about time.
Yea man so awesome
Just wanted to say thank you .. your the very first that done an amazing review on this bike .. can’t wait to buy one
Thank you I really appreciate that!
I woke up to this video like it's Christmas morning!
Lol, that's awesome! That's what I felt like when they called me and said it was here. More to come.
Im really pumped for the new content with this bike!
Thank you, me too! The exhaust and fender eliminator are already in route.
What would you recommend someone get as a first bike zx4rr or rs660?
The QS is clunky at low RPM. Same on my Ninja 1000sx. Smooths out a ton at 6k+.
Thanks man I appreciate that! That's cool you got one. 2nd gear up or down after 4k felt pretty smooth to me. 1st gear is a little clunky. Enjoy!
Definitely the zx4rr in my opinion. Safer, lower seat height, lower insurance, lower maintenance costs.
if only the zx6r got this much love from kawasaki
I know right, they have changes the fairings a little but its been the same bike for a long time now
Can’t wait for it to come to Europe, I absolutely love small 4 cylinder engines! I own one of 3 Honda Hornet 250s in Italy
I love the small cc engines too. Hope you get them soon!
I adjusted the clutch and turned on the qs before I rode it home and it was amazing
in the Philippines ZX4RR 3rd gear reach " 193 km/h" and if you want to change the sprocket you can use 13T front and 43T rear for more torque.
Nice, thanks!
USA got 14/48, easiest is 13/49 to keep same chain length
Wow, what a bike buddy. It's great to hear the joy from you, just that and the sound of the bike say a lot about this bike🤩. Great video and thanks for sharing. Ride on and have a great weekend🤙
thats ck im still grinning about riding it home yesterday I think imma go ride it again lol cheers mate!
I want to see the difference between r7 and zx4's seating position and their tire sizes. Great review btw!
same! Would love to hear this from Scout!
Great idea! I'll see if I can get that out soon.
And having 24lbs of torque (that might actually be less after the restriction) isnt worth having over an r7 or the cbr650r which even restricted is more then 60lbs of torque each
Are you deciding r7 or this?
@@diet-water wtf are u talking about with the 47 in Europe?
Im curious to see how it rides with full exhaust, sprockets and tune. Hit it right on the nose when he said a beginner supersport. Still think the 600cc is the best street class

That's exciting! Let me know what you think when you get it.
I have an 1100 and to be honest, you don’t need all that power, it’s ridiculous. I bet this is so much fun to ride.
So true and yea it's a blast to get to bang through a bunch of gears before your completely breaking the law lol
I didn't realize CCY would be getting this in their inventory. That's sick. Once you left the driveway I recognized the area immediately
Haha yea man good people in CCY
Nice video..been waiting for English speaking one😂 but I do believe the rr has up and down quick shifter
Lol I agree. It does have up and down qs. It just wasn't enabled. I enabled it before I rode it home and it was awesome!!

Hahaha
Naa man Scout! That thing is BALLER!!!!Congrats mate! Looking forward to the Mods journey on this one!! :D
LOL! I'll get a Panni for the next one. Thanks bro, cheers 🍻
The best part about this bike is it can be a beginner bike without SOUNDING like a beginner bike. That'll be a good selling point in itself
so true, it sounds amazing with out that lame parallel twin 180 crank sound
From Philippines here, got zx25r and I tell you. Wait till you change into full exhaust using SC project, using velo stacks.. Main issues on those zx25r and zx4rr would be the exhaust gaskets and its camshaft tensioner.
Nice dude thanks for the info, I’ve been waiting for the US to get an inline 4. I was so excited when the CBR 250RR came out and so sad when it didn’t get to US.
@@ScoutsOut you will enjoy the sound.. Got a video on my channel when I was on the track.. Check with headphones.. heheh

Made even worse when their "new" 600RR is extremely far from a consumer friendly price 😢

also. very excited for more videos. keep up the great work. No BS in ur vids, love it
With the r7 you don't have to work for the power. If you want to enjoy the zx4rr, you have to keep it high in the rev range. Thanks for watching!

Ya, the price is a bit steep for a 400 but man is it fun!
inline 4 engine is more expensive than single or 2 beside this bike have 76/77hp wothout ram air it beat all other 400 and 500cc bike interms of straight performance and 50% 650 cc ,only you need to revv it alot like test rider said cos max power is at 14,5 k rpm in other hand you have calm bike at low rpm and animal at 12-13+k rpm atleast comapre to other 400 like ktm rc 390 cf moto 450 ninja 400 cbr 500 all those bike have better lowend torque than zx4 r but revv zx4 r and it would smoke all them with easy 🌪 👍🏻 beside good suspension and breaks so price i quees represents welll package 🤷🏻♂️👌🏻 stock fat bob 114 or fxdr at 1/4 mille you ask ? zx4 r smoke them too 😁👌🏻unless rider launch be katastrifallly weak and slow and he give them enough time to ride away at enough distance 👌🏻 with good launch fxdr or fb 114 have no chance 👍🏻
You don’t deserve a test ride.

I am!!! Love from Japan ❤
Yea there isn't much done here in ca either, I've never gotten a bike inspected here
@@ScoutsOut u live in California? U gotta get that graves exhaust. They make the full system for the zx4rr

It did come restricted and I have videos of installing exhaust and getting the restriction removed so it much better now
Very cool definitely have to follow this. It is capable of 80ish hp although here in North America because of noise constraints etc it’ll be governed down to about 50hp.

Nice dude I live up in paso
I dont understand why they dont make these low end ''sportsbikes'' actually have a more aggressive riding position. It feels like a naked bike dressing up as a sportsbike. Yamaha however did it right with the R7. Actually a low end Sportsbike that feels like one.
Because this is a learning Inline 4 bike for beginners but if you want to take it to the next level as an expert rider you could always invest in aftermarket aggressive clip-ons and adjustable rearsets.
R7s are dogs on the high end
They can appeal to a wider consumer audience this way and the aftermarket will provide the rest so complete customization is easily doable. It’s a win for everyone instead of targeting only one group
@@quanwick4516 Yeah i guess that makes sense
I completely agree. A supersport should feel like a supersport. I don't mind the ergos on this bike thought and rear sets and a seat could potentially make it more aggressive.
I wanted this as my first bike. People are telling me no. I just wanted a weekend rider and something to occasionally drive to work. Work is 10 miles away. Would this be a waste for someone like me?
I will say for a first time rider maybe a ninja 400 is a better option, that way you get all the oops out of the way that are inevitable
Once these bikes get a tune there usually a whole different animal for a 4 hundred. Great bikes to learn how to control a motorcycle.

Wtf is wrong with the gearchange? Rider error? Clutch/throtte timing is appalling
Yea I hear ya man I had the 2018 636 and loved it but it felt more fun giving my n400 all it had on time back roads
Edit 2: Just to clarify for anyone who hasn't been following this bike, the docs Kawasaki submitted to the NHTSA rate it at 56 hp -- we're not getting the full 80 hp from the factory in North America.
interesting, I need to get it on a dyno to find out what we are getting then
@@ScoutsOut Revzilla's Common Tread podcast said that the US and Canada bikes will be restricted to lower RPM to make them quieter. The UK bike will rev to 15k rpm and around 80hp.
@@ScoutsOut I'd definitely be curious!
So far the bike revs to 16k rpm and doesn't feel like it only had 50 hp but I still plan to dyno it.
@@ScoutsOut I'd love to hear that it's all good! They talked about it on this week's Revzilla podcast a bit, but I think until we get some dyno runs in, no one knows for sure.
This bike isnt gona do very well in the states imo. Its just too much for what u get. The resale value is going to be catastrophic as well.
Agreed! The all around quality of the bike is considerably better than a ninja 400. I was pleasantly surprised.
@@ScoutsOut lol I use all of a 600cc on the street
I love the upgrade they did with the Ninja 400RR but not for almost 10k when you can get a Zx-r6 for the same price. I love my Ninja 400
Yea its such a huge upgrade but i agree 10k is a little steep, the 4r should be less but i dont know by how much
we need to get the official HP numbers for the US version of this bike if its close to 80hp it will be a hit if its restricted to 58hp it will need a lot of tuning from the aftermarket
I've reached out to a local, I'm hoping he will have the time to get it on a dyno this week
@@ScoutsOut is the red line confirmed at around 16k at least ?
Yes, I'm easily going to 16k
I’m not going to lie. That TFT on the 400 has me a little triggered, cause my 2022 zx 14r has a calculator display between two analog gauges. Now the analog gauges I don’t mind but that dang calculator screen. 😅
LOL, ya that's frustrating!
I want it so bad but a street triple is similar price, RS660 is too, used daytona and 636 is save price. Even MV Agusta 800cc triples
Ya the price tag does hurt but man is it fun!
@@ScoutsOut how many bikes do you have?
Yeah the new Street Triple R at $9995 seems like a good deal.
Haha way to many, 6 streets bikes in the garage atm
That's a rad bike to man
In your next video can you please comment on the major differences between the zx4rr and the ninja 400 those are two bikes I'm interested in.
I'm only 5'7" so I need a bike with a low seat height.
How does the zx4rr ride quality compare with the ninja 400?
Great idea! The zx4rr is more stable and smoother. As far as seat height, the ninja 400 is a half inch lower than the zx-4rr.
One is two cylinder and the other RR is 4 cylinder, what more do you need to know lol.
I am 5’7” and also has both bikes. ZX4RR is a little bit higher so I have to tiptoe on it. Riding position is more aggressive than Ninja 400 but not like ZX6R. ZX4RR is heavier so feels more stable. Here is ZX4RR #00612 from Dallas.
@@davidchiu9613 thanks my friend that's really good information.
Does the zx4rr ride better over bad roads than the Njnja 400?
I hear the Ninja 400 has a very stiff ride.
Enjoy.
@@dougmaverick3287 I rode more for my ZX4RR today and I feel it is more comfortable than Ninja 400. Maybe it has better suspension or maybe it’s heavier so even though the bad road I still feel stable.
Awesome! This bike sounds amazing with aftermarket exhaust.
I've got one on order, I can't wait to find out how it sounds!
There are official exhaust for it already? Can you link where you ordered it?
@@nammmers it was termignoni
I got mine from tst industries
Nice review. But what about actual HP numbers? I hear we may be getting HP limitations here in the states due to noise regs.
I don't have actual numbers yet but the bike runs out to 16k rpm's so I'm thinking we didn't get restricted here.
56 horsepower
Didn’t realize these were in the states yet good to know
Yea man I got the call Thursday night it was coming in, I was super excited
its so lovely😍 .. high rev band in low speeds..sweeeeeeetest 400.. its faster than zx25r .. its good for short riders too with 5'4
Yes so much fun to bang out gears and still be at reasonable speeds!
If we can swap the ninja 400 dash with the zx4rr that would be sick! Come on Kawasaki, get it done!
I know right, I hope they do it for next year at least
Would you be able to reduce this to an A2 license bike in europe when it comes out
It sounds like they are shipping them to Canada reduced for noise so hopefully they do the same thing in euro for the A2
Great review, man. You just got yourself a new subscriber. Will look forward for more videos about the ZX4RR, especially a comparison with R7 and what would you pick for the price point? R7, ZX4RR, or ZX6R? Thank you so much.
Thanks man, lots to come
nice video, seat height/position same as Ninja 400? and price? is more expensive than ninja so is it worth taking this one?
Be safe
God bless
Thank you, seat height is same but ergos are more aggressive than n400. I think you really have to want the inline 4 feel and power to choose this over the n400
@@ScoutsOut 4 cilinders is amazing sound, lovely. i was looking at a Yamaha R7 but this one is super cool, beter better than Aprilia R660
Yea I think the 4rr and r7 are better than the 660s I like to work on my own bikes without dealer scan tool requirements and expensive parts
@@ScoutsOut good luck
Dope bike, you’re in my home town Santa Maria I thought I recognized Central Coast Yamaha. Got my ninja 400 there last year, too bad the service was horrible or I’d go back there to pick one of these up. Now I gotta he’s got wheels In motion in chadsworth to get my next bike.
Yea man this thing is fun, that sucks you had a bad experience with them, they have always been go to me, hopefully this next go round is better, what are you grabbing up for the next bike?
This bike or Honda cb650r? I love ‘em both
Honda is awesome and great bikes but they rarely wow me tbh
With a little gearing change and exhaust….could be a really awesome bike.
Yea, hopefully I get the exhaust today
@@ScoutsOut are you considering a few extra teeth in the rear for low end?
Yea but I wanna get it set up with the exhaust and tune first to see how I like it
@@ScoutsOut I hope you post the progression, I’ll be watching!
Definitely bro
How are the stock tires? Is it slippery and need replacement?
They have been great for me, almost 2 k on them and I ride fairly aggressive and haven’t slid the tires
Its got a quick shifter. What are you using the clutch for?
It wasn't turned on after the unboxing but I turned it on before my ride home.
Hey scout!
Thnx for the vid, can really feel the genuine joy you are having with it.
Question: could you reccomend me this as my first bike?
I wont be hitting the track a lot btw
Thank you, appreciate that! I think a ninja 400 may be a better beginner bike but this bike would
Still fit in that category as well.
You mentioned that the RR feels very comfortable. What is your height? Just wondering if a 6'1" person will feel cramped while riding this bike?
Yea it's more set up like a sport bike. I am 5'10" with a 32" inseam I would say you need to sit on it to make sure but if you are a little cramped a higher seat and adjustable rearsets would fix that. I will be getting the rearsets for sure as I want my feet back and up a little. Hope this helps
Yea I they still run out to 1600 from my understanding just aren't gaining power after the 11.5 still a blast imo
