A single tiny tear fell into my basin when Scott started talking. That Black Friday episode was the first episode of Comedy Death Ray I ever listened to. I had seen Mr. Show, but didn't know enough about it to recognize who Scott was. I just happened to be looking for something to listen to at work, remembered that my brother had recommended the podcast, and saw "Oh, Michael Cera. He's a funny guy." while knowing nothing about anyone else. By the end of the episode I was an immediate fan, and Harris was a huge reason. It's funny to me now to hear Scott joke about the Peanuts Thanksgiving song not being quite as popular as the Christmas song. It's true, sure, but it genuinely brings me such good memories of an exciting time for me of discovering so many brilliantly funny people and characters. Bless Hot Saucerman, and we miss you Jack Sjunior 💛
That episode was a “good jumping-on point” as Scott would say. For me, Black Friday reminds me of that episode. In Australia, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t stop us from having Black Friday specials, because, you know, commercialism. That shopping day is a recent phenomenon here, like Halloween, which wasn’t a holiday in Australia when I was a kid but is now, because, you know, commercialism. Scott, Harris, Michael and Huell are nicer to think of when I hear Black Friday than shopping or that other Black Friday, a horrific day (January 13, 1939), when 71 people died in bushfires in the state of Victoria. Then, of course, there’s the original black Friday, Robinson Crusoe’s manservant, talk of whom I’m not surprised we don’t hear these days. Thanks for your sweet comment, which is now pinned for posterity.
@@BabyFaceBren Hear, hear! As things are going, it sounds like "Cyber Monday" and "Happy Honda Days" may already be on the way to Australia! I've only gotten to about the halfway point of this video since finding it today, and it's such a wonderful trip through Harris's appearances. Taking the added effort to consistently change the image and make it relevant to what's being heard shows a lot of love towards these hilarious episodes. Well done, and thanks for putting this together!

No worries, Harris deserves a tribute. I hope his family and friends and fans who come across it think it’s worthy (though maybe for Harris I should’ve written “who cum across it”😉)
8:47 I used to watch California Gold on PBS, just because of Huel. I thought I was the only one… apparently not! James does a great job as Huel, spot on. RIP To Huel and Harris.
This compilation makes me so emotional. Harris and Don’t Stop are so compelling in their own ways, so much more than just a comedy band. It also really hit home the duality of Adomian, silly ass Huell Howser one second and stern unfunny Christopher Hitchens the next. Babyface you’ve done it again!
I love how *right off the bat* Scott sounds exasperated with James doing Huell Howser, and this is from friggin 2009, that really got me Anyway thank you so much BFB for putting this together, Harris is to comedy what Michael Brooks was to political commentary and I have a deep love for all these guys. I hope Harris’ work is never forgotten
There were so many “I feel likes” from Scott and others and I resisted the urge but Harris gave such a long pause after “I feel like”, I felt like he was waiting for it!
I just watched the Harris interview on this gets weird podcast. I see such humanity in him. I identify so much with him.. Thanks, Harris , for being honest.
Thanks, that’s really cool to read and I appreciate you enjoying my edits (and it’s always nice when you can correct your partner!) but It’s still CBB. Always will be. I’m like a TV chef, whose specialty is taking leftovers from the freezer, of a delicious feast you forgot you ate and serving up the ingredients in an exciting new way for you to enjoy again (and for some to consume for the first time). But as for me being fucking insane, you’re spot on (and welcome!)
The amount of time you must spend editing and compiling these is insane. Thank you for your service! Also, how do you get access to the audio to edit it now? It used to be that podcast players would let you download an actual file. Not so much anymore.
When I started listening to CBB in 2013, I downloaded the old eps when they were still free, from the earwolf site I think. Then I started downloading the new eps in iTunes PC app. They’re free for 6 months so you gotta get them before they go behind the paywall! I have every ep on my computer.
Was that in that episode? I don't recall it. I did cut some things out, because I had a 12-hour limit and some parts of eps didn't have much of Harris, who was the star of this video. I tried to include as many guests as possible. Better to have some Bobby B than none at all!
@@BabyFaceBrenI actually wonder if you can find that bit anymore. I was just thinking about how that would absolutely not fly now and how I think they probably nuked it from the internet. Interesting to see other people also remember it.
@@nathanh4222 what’s the premise of the bit? I’ll definitely have it because I downloaded all the eps long ago when they were free (and free from PC!) Does the N stand for what I think it does? One of the GOAT CBB bits is when Reggie does the foam corner theme, and then Harris starts doing his bit and Reggie realizes what it actually is.
