Really detailed description on how to navigate the harbour. We used to keep our boat at Southsea marina and I must admit on few occasions with our 1.5m draft during low water we struggle with the channel leading to the fill gate. Not always doable for us. I think they do need to dredged it more often. Apart from that - great place with lovely staff!
Please share where. I would love to know where you stayed. I looked really hard to find information on anchorages. No official source makes any mention of any safe or designated anchorage areas. I have seen yachts at anchor, and I have stayed overnight myself, on the Hayling shore tucked up near the old oysterbeds and out of the main Langstone shipping channel, but that was in a boat that only drew 0.9. never been up the Broom channel as I was told (a long time ago mind you) that there was no anchorages and lots of mud, so I kept away.
@@confidencesailingyou must be old school… You referred to it as “Langstone Fairway Buoy” (same as me) but its been a pillar for what must be decades now. As to anchorages the best spot for summer fun is north of Sword Sands up Russells Lake. You can creep in there at low water (1.0m CD) and anchor on a good sandy bottom. The sand bar will be about 80 metres to the south of you and you can tender ashore for a game of beach cricket on really hard packed sand. If you’re a bilge keeler you can take the sand and then have a mid season scrub off. Much used by those in the Tudor Sailing Club moorings. Looking at the end of your video you show the Southerly Cardinal at the entrance to Russells Lake. Give that wide berth as at Low Water Springs I walked round it after falling out of a Laser many years ago.
Really useful info. Just wondered how you we’re getting on with the boat wrap. I’m looking to protect my blue hull on my 36ft Mystery is it expensive? Cheers
it was cheaper, quicker and much more flexible for us to have a wrap rather than a repaint. No question. And the wrap looks amazing. Going to be doing a video on all things 'wrap' quite soon.
What he said. The marina is fine, if a little quiet and is accessible about 3h either side of HW. The Indian restaurant is excellent and one where me and my sailing friends regularly visit.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
Some great info here on this area. Many thanks - yes, that Indian restaurant is really good.
You're welcome 😁
Useful info, thanks for sharing!
Your welcome
I used to anchor in Langstone in my 29ft yacht quite often. There are some good places.

Thanks for the info, and thanks for watching.
There are plenty of places to anchor in the harbour and visitors buoys by the Mulberry.

Nowhere to anchor? You must be in a different Langstone Harbour to the one I’ve sailed in and from for the last 40 years. 😂😂😂
Would love advice on exactly where.
