I love The Color Purple epistolary novel. I read it for my Capstone Seminar in college. Alice Walker's poetry is beautiful. I had never been exposed to her poetry.
in my journey of learning to be still to become... ...i was taught to be still & know that The Creator of all, is G.O.D., The Generating Omnipotent-scient-present Designer... & i was introduced to vipasanna; the art of living btwn 2001-2006... i find communicating with The Known Source/The Creator of my existence, provides me with much confidence & personal comfort in that healing process... terri a.

Is there a Alice Walker poetry reader who can help me find a poem? I am looking for a poem written by Walker I read over 20 years ago that I thought was called The World Child. But I only recall (hopefully correctly) a few lines .... "behind the only image we can sometimes see our own. It is the world child and it sits there looking out at us waiting for us to understand." Please reply if you know name of poem and book in which it appeared. Thanks
hello Maria, I believe the poem you referring to is: Why the War You Have in Mind (Yours and Mine) Is Obsolete - it is in Alice Walker’s collection of poems Absolute Trust in the Goodness of the Earth: New Poems 💚
What a genius. So lucky to live in her time.
