    Awesome video & photos! My son & I started the WT on 9/9/22 at White River, went CCW and finished on 9/17/22. It was fun to relive our hike watching the video. Thanks for creating & posting!

    I hiked the Wonderland Trail clockwise, Longmire to Longmire, and it’s interesting to see it from the other direction. Nice video, good job. This has got me seriously thinking about a return trip.

      Thank you for your kind words! Every time we watch it or other WT videos, it makes us think about doing it again. It’s just such a beautiful place!

    We were your neighbors at Maple Creek. Glad to see you finished. You had a huge day to Summerland!!

      Thank you for watching! It was great meeting you that evening. It certainly was a tough day with all that smoke. Hope the rest of your trip went well!

    It was VERY enjoyable watching your video, nice music too. I love that trail! It gave me the motivation to finish it as I've done 80% of the WT, but almost entirely in day trips over the last few years, and I have 3 segments left (E, W, and N sides). Your mileage pace seemed quick, but then I'm almost 70. I brought my wife to the very quiet White River CG just for dinner the evening guys were up at Summerland CG.

      Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! This trail is truly magical and different probably every time you go. Those first few days we were moving pretty quickly, but definitely slowed down towards the back half of our trip. The day from Maple Creek CG up to Summerland CG was brutal, and the smoke didn't help. We wish you the best of luck with your goal to complete the remainder of the trail!

    I hiked the Wonderland Trail CCW in 7 days also, but starting and ending at Longmire way back in 2001. I remember each day being tough with the mileages and elevation changes, but awesome scenery and an amazing experience. Great to relive this hike through your hike!

      That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, some of the mileages were tough on a few of those days but the scenery definitely makes up for it. I would imagine every year the WT offers something a little different. Thanks for watching!

    Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. Such a beautiful trail. I definitely have that on my to do list. I completed the Loowit Trail around Mount St. Helens in September. Highly recommend. Super challenging but very beautiful. The Pacific Northwest is so amazing.

      Thank you so much! We will definitely have to get out on the Loowit Trail at some point. And we completely agree, the PNW is incredible! Thanks for watching

    Thanks for sharing! We're getting ready to do more hiking in the PNW next summer and sections of the Wonderland are on our short-list.

      Thanks for watching! The PNW is a very beautiful place, and of course, you can’t go wrong with any part of the Wonderland Trail.

    Nice video. interesting to see what this trail is like in September, as i have a n aversion to snow. Impressive that you had all 14 - 16 mile days.

      Thank you! Around Labor Day seems to be a great time to do it if you’re able. Snow free all the way! Thanks for watching!

    Man, all those uphills are crazy! You guys killed it.
    We did this the opposite direction as a family, in 2016... and your uphills seem much more difficult & unending than the ones we had going clockwise.
    Well done!! Beautiful video. What a mountain.

      Thank you so much! Yeah our day 6 from Maple Creek up to Summerland was brutal. I think the elevation gain/loss is pretty similar regardless of which direction one travels though. Congrats on your 2016 adventure. Thank you for watching!

      and yeah, the Maple Creek to Summerland is the one that is terrifying to me. SO much relentless uphill LOL. Well done.

    Thanks for uploading this video. I’m planning on going the same way but hoping to do it in eight days instead. My appointment is on April 7th. Hope the campsites will have space!

    We did this hike the exact same time of year but in 2021! I think it's the best time of year to hike the Wonderland :) We started at Mowich Lake and hiked clockwise in 6 days. Wished we had that extra day or two though!

    • @marriedmountaineers
      @marriedmountaineers  Рік тому +1

      Agreed, it’s a fantastic time of year to do it. Aside from the smoke we got at the end, it was great weather the whole week! Congrats on your 6 day completion! That’s awesome

    This is about 4th video I wstched on Wonderland Trail. Great job!
    How was navigating this trail? Confidence markers? If I do the trail I plan to download the entire loop on my FarOut App. 🤙

    • @marriedmountaineers
      @marriedmountaineers  Рік тому +2

      Thank you so much! Overall, navigation is pretty easy. There was a section that had been washed out which was a little tricky, but even then there were a few markers hanging from tree limbs. I’m sure the trail is a little different every season after the snow melts and inevitably a bridge or two is gone. We used a downloaded map on Gaia and had no troubles. Thanks for watching! Good luck!

    Was it hard to get a permit for the round trip? Have tried the lottery but have never been successful. Did you do the lottery or did you do a walk up permit?

    • @marriedmountaineers
      @marriedmountaineers  Рік тому +2

      We were very fortunate and won the lottery. However, it fills up very quickly. We were actually able to get 2 or 3 of our camp sites the day prior as walk-ups. I think the rangers will work with you as best they can if you try the walk-up. I would recommend going early (basically be there when they open) and allow a little flexibility in your plans. Hope that helps and you get to experience the WT! Thanks for watching!

    I appreciate this. I'm more a naturalist when it comes to out of doors. Music in the background ruins it for me though. Need to listen to nature, not man-made nature.

      @@AdornamentMaker. Totally understand. We started out making these videos for our family to watch some of things we get into and they’ve always enjoyed the music so we keep it on there. We appreciate you taking the time to watch, and thanks for commenting!
