    Lovely makes ! I like body suits as they do feel so smooth and comfortable, just a bit tricky when in a hurry for the loo😬. I’m always impressed with the amount of things you make having small children as well , Bridget

    I agree the neck line is a little snug, I also have both colours of cream and navy fabric, love it so much, so soft 😊

      Isn't it the snuggliest! I need to try and use up the scraps for something else now. The fabric is too cosy to leave in my remnants bag.

    Hi Amelia, Lovely makes as usual! I just got to the part about the collar of the Lyra dress and how difficult it was to work with in viscose and I immediately wanted to give you a smart tip for the next time. That is to press the interfacing on to the fabric BEFORE you cut out the collar and stand, that way it won’t slither around and you get perfect edges and no fraying. If you use the finest interfacing you can put it on both upper and under collar pieces. Now on with the rest of the video! 😊

    • @sewamelia
      @sewamelia  2 роки тому

      Thank you! That is a great tip. I did use very lightweight interfacing on the collar - but it would have been so much easier to fuse, then cut! I will definitely do that next time. Thanks!

    For a really snuggly Billie Sweatshirt dress I added the TATB Freya cowl neck. At 5'11" I didn't increase the length but wear a Rowan body and leggings/jeggings underneath with boots, super cozy. I have used both jersey cable knit and sweatshirt fabric. Teamed with the Hudson pants when indoors, I can't use the heating, I'm too warm 😁

    After all the mentions of layering up with a turtleneck top I was so sure the bonus pattern was going to be the TATB Freya or similar :D maybe a 7th winter staple?
    I definitely need the Rowan - I've been trying to find a tshirt pattern to wear with my memade skirts but dislike how they scroofle (a real word!) up around the waistband. A bodysuit would solve my dilemma! Thanks for the inspo!

    • @sewamelia
      @sewamelia  2 роки тому

      It is really funny - I have made the Freya but don't reach for it nearly as often as my Rowan tops, so I had to include them instead. They are definitely better for avoiding all 'scroofle' issues. Love that word! ❤

    Oooh I’ve been tempted by the Lyra for a while and you’ve reminded me to bump it up my list again! Maybe for next autumn here… ☺️ Thanks for a lovely video Amelia. My autumn / winter most worn items are definitely the York pinafore by Helen’s Closet and one of your top 5 - the Billie jumper. I have made several of each and they’re worn constantly through the cooler months. ☺️ About 10 months of the year to be honest!

    Loved your makes and very informative opinions.I would love a video on how you grade out your patterns.The fabric of the first Billie dress is stunning.Instead of cutting it to make a sweater why not make a tunic? Take the hem band off and make side splits ,that way you'd keep most of the fabric.You could make it into a dress by making a longer and wider contrast hem band and then add longer contrast sleeve bands. Whatever you decide I am looking forward to seeing your finished make.
