Love our Diogo radian rxts. We have 2 in our very small compact Toyota Yaris and one is rear facing and the other is forward facing and it works great. Plus they last until your kid is out of a seat. Also, just a tip, you need to tighten the lap belt or latch system as much as you can BEFORE inserting the foam or else it is unsafe since it is not as tight as it should be. It is in the instructions, just an FYI for anyone watching this for installation tips. I have a video on my page on how to install properly. :)
Amazing car seat! Best seat for forward facing in a small car. I have 3 children and used several car seats over the years. This is my favorite! Best forward facing and when you don't need to switch it between cars. Now we have 3 of them. But for an infant seat I love the UppaBaby Mesa the best.
FOR SAFETY REASONS DO NOT!!!! INSTALL THE SEAT LIKE THIS....... that being said Isn’t the angle more about the safety of the child and not how comfortable the front passengers are? I mean if the baby is four months wouldn’t you want them to be more laying down than standing up since they have no control of their neck and can’t hold their head straight up..... so In turn the baby can snap their neck in case of the driver slamming on the brakes or an accident
Yes that’s right, the instructions for the angle adjuster (foam piece that goes under seat) says must be used with baby that has complete head control and can sit up unassisted which is very unlikely for a 4 month old but the install is fine for older babies or toddlers
That carseat cover is very unsafe and should be removed before a carseat is installed, also the angle adjuster should be put in after you buckle in the seat.
This is the review I was looking for. Liked the whole narrow concept idea but incline/decline adjustability is a must. I actually currently have the one that is sitting on the computer desk in your garage, Britax ClickTight, for my older child. Thanks for posting... And nice car. Gotta persuade the wife to get a Tesla now.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad the review was helpful. We ended up keeping the Britax. It's worked great for us! And hey, tell your wife the Model 3 starts at just $35k now. What a deal. :)
Latch isn't available in our center seat, and the center seat is statistically safer in crashes than either side seat so we plan on keeping our kiddo there for as long as possible.
Have this seat and it’s the worst to install. In your install, instead of rocking it on bottom/base, push on the top of the back, I guarantee you’ll be able flip it almost sideways. That’s not very secure in my book for side impact. It’s such a crappy design. I switched to the Britax clicktight seats as those lock the belt in solid and are a breeze to install. Britax - takes me 2 min to move from one car to another, diono takes at min 10-15, most of which is spent struggling to get a secure belt fit where the seat won’t tip when rocked side to side by top of the back.
@@RMCthrills they disclose the child is 4mo old at the time of filming and the Diono instructions for using the angle adjuster are "Only for use with children who can sit up unassisted and have complete head control." In the seatbelt installattion the wiggle demonstrated on camera is significantly more than an inch. Proper installtion when the child is ready for the angle adjuster is to fully tighten through the belt path with latch anchors or seat belt AND THEN add the angle adjuster--not to tighten with the angle adjuster already in there...so many fails and I don't want a first time parent to think this is a correct install.
this video doesn't demonstrate how to properly fit thee seat rear-facing as it completely omitted the process of securing the seat using a latch tether from the back of the seat to thee base of the front seats, and it completely misses the point that the seat is SUPPOSED to rest up against the front seats as this is an important part of how it becomes fully secured so FOR SAFETY REASONS DO NOT FIT THIS SEAT LIKE IT IS DEMONSTRATED IN THIS VIDEO!
If anyone else is going to be sitting in the back seat, then LATCH isn't an option in the center position. This seat really does not work rear facing. I just tried putting a 2020 3RXT in my wife's sedan and the design of the seat makes it impossible to fit. We have twins, so there is no center option either. It will work in our van at least and we'll keep using the base / seat carrier in the sedan. The real reason to get one is forward facing and for flying. And that it has no provision to properly set the angle for an infant who cannot support their own head yet is another deal breaker for a rear facing installation. This seat is not for infants.
I think maybe you needed to learn how to put it in properly first before showing the review as you didnt put it all in properly as may mislead other parents into miss installing it

Diono has a UA-cam video up showing the opposite.
@@lowery02 wym opposite? That it wouldnt fit? Just curious because im shopping for a car seat for a 2021 civic that is also very compact

It’s true. Everything about this install for a 4 month old is wrong.
@@ginamarie1448 the baby is not 4 months old anymore the kid is now 3

You're supposed to add adjuster After the install...
I’ve been fighting with this thing for 2 hours. Thanks for this video! The head rest adjuster needs improving.
A father who can install a car seat properly! 🙌🏼
It wasnt done properly tho
This video is everything! Lol all my frustration with this seat
Wow. Nothing better than someone who doesn't know what their doing explain how to install a child safety device. Dislike.
The angle is not about the vehicle. Its about the age of the child. Infants require quite a bit of incline.
I loved this video. my wife hated it because she just came home with two none refundable Diono rxt. hahaha.
Why not use latch? Its much easier anad be said baby is only 4 months. Also to get a good fit you need to remove your seat cover
Latch isn't available in our center seat, and the center seat is statistically safer in crashes than either side seat so we plan on keeping our kiddo there for as long as possible.
We use a rear backup camera to monitor our rear facing children.
Does it require the front tether when rear facing?
Tell me how my 3 year old could get out of this $300 car seat.?¿
What is that mat thingy you are setting the car seat on? It looks like it slides around a lot and will make the car seat less safe.
The tan mat is not safe.
Looks like the back of a fighter jet cockpit ejector
I’d highly recommend using the LATCH system and rear tether. I cringed when he put the seatbelt through it lol

The angle adjuster it’s $25 now 🥲🙃
It's $28CAD now for that angle adjuster. I had no choice but to buy it
Thanks for sharing your review.
This is the best seat you will need.
Is your car a model 3? We have a model Y and was looking at something like this as we have 2 kids and currently no room to use middle seat.
Never skip gym day bro :)
Aren’t you supposed to use the tether strap while rear facing as well?
If there is a place to attach it in the car. The instructions said it was optional.
You don’t use it for rear facing it’s not required for rear facing it’s for forward facing
You need to anchor it weither its forward facing or rear facing. There is no optional about it
Thanks for the video. Helped me decide not to buy one of these.
There is a cover for the back so it’s nice and neat and everything is hidden
have you try installing it forward facing? does it still need the foam (angle adjuster)?
No it’s used for rear facing
Very dramatic but informative. Lol
The drama is very real.
love the car
If you got the diono 3rxt, you wouldn’t have the ugly back.
every single step of this installation is incorrect...for a 4 month old...like, every SINGLE step....
The baby is not 4 months old anymore you know
